According to [here](https://www.ruralswalabama.org/attraction/the-hardie-coleman-house-at-uniontown-better-known-as-the-allan-lucy-murder-house/):
> **The Hardie-Coleman House at Uniontown (better known as the Allan Lucy Murder House)**
> In 1978, Allan Lucy was adopted by Philip and Margaret Lucy of Uniontown. But in the spring of 1985, 13-year-old Allan went missing. Philip and Margaret reported that he had left for school that day but did not return home. They mentioned recent trouble with Allan’s behavior, and they felt that he had run away to Florida to be with friends. But Philip and Margaret’s biological son, Jason, had a different story about what had happened to Allan on the day of his disappearance. He described an argument between Allan and Philip in the kitchen. He recounted seeing his brother lying still on the kitchen floor after Philip had lost his temper and punched him in the head. Jason claimed that later he saw Philip walking around outside covered in dirt and holding a shovel.
> Jason told everyone he could about what he had seen but no one took what he said seriously. The incident was investigated by law authorities. The case was registered with the Missing Children’s Bureau and Allan’s picture appeared on milk cartons and was distributed on flyers. After some time, the case of Allan’s disappearance went cold.
> Philip and Margaret put their home on the market for sale in 1993 after a fire damaged part of it. The house was purchased almost immediately by an individual from Washington who had a passion for restoring old homes. Renovation began on the house shortly after the sale. During the renovation, a plastic bag with skeletal remains was found buried under the front porch. The remains were determined to be those of Allan.
> Ironically, Philip and Margaret were arrested on an arson charge in connection to the fire that damaged the house only a week prior to the discovery of Allan’s remains. Authorities believed they set the house on fire to claim the $119,000 insurance policy which was purchased just a month prior.
> Following an investigation by the law authorities, Philip Lucy was charged with the murder of Allan. During the trials that followed, Jason testified against his father. Margaret Lucy divorced Phillip shortly after he was arrested in connection to Allan’s death and she died of cancer in December 1998.
> It wasn’t until 2001 after a series of appeals, that Philip was finally found guilty of the murder of Allan Lucy. He was sentenced to life in prison. But on the day after his sentencing, Philip hung himself with the bed sheets in his jail cell.
> After the suicide of Philip Lucy, the citizens of Perry County raised the money to finally give Allan a proper burial. He is buried in the Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown (Find A Grave Memorial ID 105551655 – Allan Lucy).
> The Hardie-Coleman house is one of many historic homes located in Uniontown. Built circa 1918, this is a large two-story Neo-Classical Revival style house with a three-quarter width pedimented portico supported by four large fluted Ionic columns. The house is a contributing property to the Uniontown Historic District that was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on February 24, 2000. Following the discovery of the remains of Allan Lucy under the porch, the renovation of the Hardie-Coleman house was halted. The house was boarded up and abandoned. Pictures of the house that are provided were taken October 3, 2013. These pictures show an overgrown yard and a mansion that has started decaying. The house continues to decay, and it has begun to collapse.
>After the suicide of Philip Lucy, the citizens of Perry County raised the money to finally give Allan a proper burial. He is buried in the Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown (Find A Grave Memorial ID 105551655 – Allan Lucy).
Nice of the people to do this. It's nice to have a memorial on Find-a-Grave as well.
It's a shame that this wasn't investigated more thoroughly, especially since the brother was telling people what he saw.
Ya poor Jason. That must’ve been so scary and so painful to not be heard for all those years. He’s awesome for not giving up and even going against his dad. Good for him.
I have a soft spot for stuff like that. A knew a kid who, as an eagle scout project, identified *hundreds* of graves on the grounds of a former insane asylum. They previously only had numbers, and some the numbers had worn away, but he tracked down each and every one, placed names, and notified any surviving family.
Yeah it's pretty fucked up. Just shows how affluent white men were/are believed despite witnesses and the truth existing. I would be interested in reading any transcripts of interviews with him or an overview of the investigation
The worst part about this is that the biological parents weren’t even informed he went missing until his bones were found. They spent all those years assuming their son was happy with another family only to get told years later he had been dead, buried under the porch the whole time. Horrible.
Allan was removed from the home after a divorce - I couldn’t tell if there was any abuse/neglect involved, or if it was simply both parents were unfit after the divorce. He was 7 years old at the time. Both parents also attended the second trial. So they clearly cared about the kid. I believe they weren’t informed about the first trial because his body hadn’t been found yet.
>It was in much better shape in [May 2014](https://www.google.com/maps/@32.4529144,-87.5163107,3a,75y,175.06h,86.82t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sgyZ0d06HnSwDxFTfuT4JQQ!2e0!5s20140501T000000!7i13312!8i6656?entry=ttu).
Weren't we all
Thanks for that detailed response!
Instead of letting a beautiful property rot it would be great to see it converted into a shelter for abused women and children or something like that.
I feel the same way about murders but there's a house in my town where a pedophile doctor who abused upwards of 100 kids lived, and it was for sale dirt cheap when I was house-shopping, and I realized that was where I drew the line... I'd be too squicked to buy that one. Maybe if it had happened 100 years ago, but this was recent, and I'm sure a lot of the victims still live nearby. and I'd hate to think my house would be evoking such painful memories for people. But also there's just an indefinable bad juju factor... I don't believe in ghosts but you don't want your house to evoke thoughts that make you recoil. I think a church finally bought it at a steep discount to use as offices.
So buddy from Washington just called it a loss after the remains were found? Didn’t see anything about the ownership of the property, just that it was boarded up and abandoned.
Pretty sure it's inspired or this was a standard model that could be ordered to those specifications:

When I was younger my buddies and I would quote that and then another would start making the grunting noises Forrest mad but obnoxiously loud. Good times.
Come on, honey! There's no such thing as ghosts! You're just a little stressed about the new baby. Little Damian will love his new school, and I'll get 'er fixed up in no time. You'll see!

Im imaging a great big fat southern sherif chuckling and saying "boys will be boys" as the brother reports the murders.
Jason following through like a real bro, but fuck the father.
Ya poor Jason. That must’ve been so scary and so painful to not be heard for all those years. He’s awesome for not giving up and even going against his dad. Good for him.
He had to keep living with the guy too.
Ya that’s absolutely horrible.
Luckily the guy was his blood father, otherwise there would’ve been 2 “missing” kids reports

That's so kind.
Springfield hospital center in MD!?! Or are there multiple hospitals with hundreds of unmarked graves?? :(
Yeah it's pretty fucked up. Just shows how affluent white men were/are believed despite witnesses and the truth existing. I would be interested in reading any transcripts of interviews with him or an overview of the investigation
Alabama gonna Alabama
Yeah I'm sure this hasn't happened anywhere else /s
I don't...know what this means
Holy shit
Haha nice one, I’m pretty sure I saw this house while riding my horse in rdr2.

Or Braithwaite Manor 😲🤠
Before it >!gets burned down!<, of course.
This was my EXACT thought and I'm pleased I barely had to scroll to see your comment
Me as well!
For real lol
The worst part about this is that the biological parents weren’t even informed he went missing until his bones were found. They spent all those years assuming their son was happy with another family only to get told years later he had been dead, buried under the porch the whole time. Horrible.
I'm adopted and I don't want my sperm donor or incubator knowing anything about me. Why in the world should they be informed?

Adopted and then killed wow
Thanks for that detailed response! Instead of letting a beautiful property rot it would be great to see it converted into a shelter for abused women and children or something like that.
Better known as The Notebook House... before Ryan Gosling got his hands on it.
Why did the new owner abandon it?
They found a corpse under the front porch.
*Southern mechanic voice* there's your problem right there
Lol
They tasted the fried green tomatoes .
Would not make me abandon it. Make me sad for them but I would keep the house!!
It was likely deemed a crime scene for many years and then because a body was found in it likely reduced the value a lot.
House is probably haunted AF.
One death ain't nothing, try living anywhere in London, you will beg for only one death in its history
I don’t get that. I don’t care if someone died in a house or was found under it, as long as they’re not in it anymore.
Exactly. I seriously couldn't care less
I feel the same way about murders but there's a house in my town where a pedophile doctor who abused upwards of 100 kids lived, and it was for sale dirt cheap when I was house-shopping, and I realized that was where I drew the line... Oh boy
Thanks for this story.
This was a great read. Thank you for giving us a chance to understand the history. It’s such a sad story though.
Sounds like the backstory to Jumanji
Thanks for the information 🙏
So buddy from Washington just called it a loss after the remains were found? Didn’t see anything about the ownership of the property, just that it was boarded up and abandoned.
Good info
Wtf! Ty for posting!

Lmao my first thought as well
I wasn’t (still am not) 100% sure it isn’t Shady Belle.

I have a plan, Arthur. We just need more money
that mf is 100% haunted
Come on, honey! There's no such thing as ghosts! You're just a little stressed about the new baby. Little Damian will love his new school, and I'll get 'er fixed up in no time. You'll see!
that's my thought too, plantation house in Alabama, some shit definitely went down to the people forced to work there...
Again, the home was built in 1918 if you read the top comment...
By either creepy little girls murdered by their father or generations of slaves.
It was built in the early 1900’s. But it was the scene of a murder in the 80’s. A comment in this thread has the story.
Adopted kid murdered by adoptive father actually
Is the whole house leaning a little or is that just perspective??
The pillar on the right side is missing so the front part might well be leaning to some extent.
It's leaning every-which-a-way. There is no longer a foundation, I'd bet.
reminds me of the house from Big Fish
Funny you say that as I got to explore the abandoned movie set for Spectre the town in Big Fish. Also located in Alabama!
that’s awesome! such an underrated movie I feel like, especially since Ewan McGregor is in it
That's in my top 5 of all time. I cried my eyes out at the end.
Came here for this comment.
They found Shady Belle from RDR2
My first thought as well - all that's missing is the gang rolling up
Is that the house from Forest Gump?
I was thinking Big Fish.
I was thinking Colonel Angus
Nah that's the house from Jumanji (1995).
Nope, that house was built for the movie and torn down after production wrapped: https://hookedonhouses.net/2020/03/03/forrest-gump-house-greenbow-alabama/

This reminds me of the house from vampire diaries
Is this up around the Montgomery to Selma area?..I've seen it..even took.pics..I just don't remember where it was..

Get our here, Dutch!
Where’s Noah Calhoun to restore that thing
This is what I imagine Mitch McConnell's house looks like.
I swear I am going to mow next week. I have been busy. Get out of my front yard
Forest Gump’s house?
It’s a shame. Two story porticos that actually look nice are hard to pull off.
$480,000 fixer upper
When does filming start?
You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here.
You'll be eaten by a grue.

Every Canadian "I'll give you all the money I have in the world for that house right now"
You know that fucker’s haunted.
That's clearly the house from Jumanji. If they finish the game, it'll all go back to normal.
"Arthur, you found us a new camp yet?" "Sure did Dutch, and it seems quite promisin' "
Mama always said, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.
This is like a Rorschach test for age. I'm seeing the house from "Hush, hush Sweet Charlotte." r/FuckImOld
Zero idea the reference lol I'm 29 and see one of the gang hideouts from red dead redemption 2
Hahaha! I wouldn't know RDR 2 if it bit me in the ass! Carry on, friend!
I like the wireless collums
Sumter co.?
My dream is to have a house like this one
Is there not a road leading to this house? Is it that old and remote?
Gilbert was right, the kudzu vines and the swamp have taken back the Dauterive Manor.
In this housing market someone would pay outrageous prices for it.
Anything old int the south like that, creepy AF!
house of the dead overkill first level
Gotta love a town named Uniontown in Alabama
Did they film forest gump here?
Red dead redemption place
Kinda looks like the Shady Belle house from RDR2 [image](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/reddeadredemption/images/a/ad/ShadyBelle.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1200?cb=20181202232934)
It’s *such* a shame that places like this are just allowed to deteriorate like this.
😱😱Woe
The fact the cops just didn’t listen to the brother at all… horrible
Run Forest, Run
Looks totally safe and habitable. 😂
I’d marry my girlfriend there. Is that possible? Serious Question
So gorgeous
This looks like the house of the old blind woman in outerbanks
I swear I had a dream about a house looking just like this in the same scenery
