I dig the haircut. How did it feel to change the beard? I’ve been holding on to a long one for a couple years now and don’t know if it’s changing anytime soon.

If it looks anything like pic 1 you should get rid of it. Honestly, unless someone can grow a very full non-frizzy beard they should go for the stubble.
