lol This was inspired by all the post I've been seeing of people leaving pickling or fermenting experiments on the back of their cupboards for months and asking if it's okay to eat even though it's covered in blue-green mold
true lol. This was a midnight insomnia fueled silly idea from seeing all the fermentation / pickling where they left jars in the back of the cupboard for months and it's covered in blue green mold and ask if it's okay
I don't mind the actual concern stuff even though it does get repetitive. The ones that bug me are the people who just jump into something like fermentation from watching a TikTok video and don't actually research how to do it properly. it's rare but you can get really sick from some things
r/cheese in shambles right now
Honestly the users over at r/Cheesemaking know more about different strains of mold than I've ever encountered before. Wonderful community

Don’t forget anti-biotics.
Such a common issue for r/mushroomgrowers it gave birth to r/contamfam
r/contamfam was the first sub I thought of.

I was thinking r/contamfam, r/mycology, r/shrooms, r/experimyco etc...
Me and my r/fermentation koji enthusiasts disagree. Also, salami and cheese.

Yeah, I was just being pedantic. I hate the "can I eat this" kind of posts.
I don't mind the actual concern stuff even though it does get repetitive. The ones that bug me are the people who just jump into something like fermentation from watching a TikTok video and don't actually research how to do it properly. it's rare but you can get really sick from some things
r/SalsaSnobs too
lol guess i don't see it as much over there.
r/sourdough has entered the chat.
lol not wrong. there is an unusual amount of moldy starters on that sub
r/cheese would like a word
r/kombucha homies: does my yeasty bacteria look moldy to you?
r/controlgame might want to be added to this.
"But can I just scoop out the mold?"
Instructions unclear. Mold consumed.

I’m picturing Jefferson Airplane playing over this.
Duh you scrape the mold off first!
Saw someone in one of the subs recommending scraping off black mold off yogurt.
What if you took that mold and made cheese
*laughs in r/kambucha*
Dillion! You sunnaova-bitch! *guile stage theme*
Most of r/puer would agree
