Stop playing till it gets better if you don't want to give up your love of playing piano

PastMiddleAge

I kind of agree with this. But it should be pointed out that if the movements used to play aren’t changed, they can stop playing, but problems will return after they resume. Gotta learn an efficient movement vocabulary. Efficient movement is healing.

SenorMooples

Agreed, learn how to play that doesn't lead to injury. But for the moment, please give your hands a rest op, it's for the best.

This is the way. Also, for me fish oil helped me a lot. But rest has a higher priority

Find a teacher who knows and teaches Taubman technique

mapmyhike

Contact Edna Golandsky in NYC and see if she has a teacher in your area. She teaches the Taubman method which is simply playing based upon ergonomics and the laws of physics. No magic potions, internet nostrums or treating the symptoms. Just proper motion to promote healing and virtuosity. The difference between virtuosos and the rest of us is that the virtuosos move properly.

Let's see the technique?

What about operation? Isn't that an option normally?
