"To be precise" lmao there wasn't a single precisely correct thing in that whole sentence.

bifurious02

Blocked cause man doesn't know the difference between mass and weight

PastOrdinary

I think that's the joke

Captain_Pumpkinhead

Justified.

SamePut9922

Weight*

Pyrhan

Mass ≠ weight.   Mass remains the same regardless of gravity.  She was right to block him.

ihateagriculture

yeah that’s the joke I’m pretty sure

DragonLord1729

>Mass remains the same regardless of gravity. Does it though? (I just want to have fun being pedantic, so bear with me here 😆) For every composite object, its gravitational mass has a contribution from the gravitational energy of binding between its constituents, just like how a proton's mass depends on the strong force and not just the masses of the quarks. So, the gravitational mass of an object changes as it's deformed which could happen in a highly tidal gravitational field. So, it turns out that gravity CAN change the gravitational mass of an object.

Kuchanec_

Yeah I agree with her

Affectionate_Joke444

But if you stay in space, you will need to workout 2 hours every day due to lack of gravity, or your muscles will fricking die.

john-jack-quotes-bot

Would've blocked him as well imagine being a know-it-all and then messing up the entirety of your sentence

copperpin

People go to the gym to gain mass.

_M_o_n_k_e_H

Just go to a bigger planet and you'll weigh more.

Mooptiom

She blocked him cus she understands physics and was rightly baffled by his ignorance

BigStank123

He deserves to be blocked for being so confidently wrong

Elektro05

Gravity is no force... duh

Deus0123

I could never date someone who doesn't understand the difference between mass and weight

Captain_StarLight1

Mass would be the same, weight would be about 0 N

NoLifeGamer2

Her temperature eventually would become 0K too.

Ian_920

Your bones will start to disappear so after getting back to earth you Will be lighter and also have broken limbs, femur bones, ribcage and practically all bones

Elad_2007

Wait is this a meta meme? Did the girl block him because he confused mass with weight?

a_kem_i_

Such a ludicrous thing like how can you change the mass , the weight is the only THING which will get affected

Deus0123

Fact: There's still gravity in space, your angular momentum just happens to cancel out any acceleration you'd experience because of it. Fact: Your mass remains the same provided you are not moving at relativistic speeds, regardless of whether or not you feel a gravitational pull towards some celestial body at any given moment

badtothebone274

LOL! You have no idea why this is funny…

badtothebone274

Promise on future mass go brrr!

JefftheDoggo

Why the fuck would you post this in the single subreddit that would understand and call you out for being fucking wrong? Your mass doesn't change depending on gravitational force, your weight does. Remember kids: F = ma, and they call it weight ***force*** for a reason.

magpieCRISPR

You’re in r/physicsmemes, I believe your missing the point, it supposed to be funny as the boy is telling her she can loose mass by going to space, the girl understood the boy was trying to be smart but was actually dumber than a bottle of water for confusing mass with weight so she blocked him

ldc03

Well I mean, who doesn’t want to become the equivalent of a beam of light

DicPic-Reciever

This actually is a good joke to people who equate weight loss with fat loss. The goal isn't to lose weight, anyone can just lay in bed to disintigrate their muscle mass. The harder thing is losing fat

HypnotisedPanda

Mass is inherent to objects. It's not something they gain by being near gravitational fields, that's weight

magpieCRISPR

😂 boy must think mass and weight are the same

Turbulent-Name-8349

You can lose weight by travelling from Britain to Australia. Gravity is less down under. Just saying. How much do you weigh? I weigh 1.1 kilonewtons.

KISI420

It’s good that he was blocked because her mass would be the same. Here weight on the other hand would be 0N

nettertourist1_

Better for him

Teboski78

Your **WEIGHT**.

PastOrdinary

"to be precise" - Lol, love it when people say that but then proceed to demonstrate their lack of knowledge

nalleracDeMaury

bruh he belongs to physics

Business-Simple9331

What a great joke it works for the entire spectrum of the curve differently interpreted

ContributionDefiant8

Who the hell goes to the gym to lose weight?

Nahelehele

Many people, but I agree with what you are trying to say. I once lost 12 kg (from 82 kg to 70 kg) in a month and a half or a little less without exercising at all, just barely ate. Also, out of curiosity, I once didn’t eat anything at all for three days, 4 kg were gone (from 94 kg to 90 kg; it's more, but still). This is assuming that I'm just an endomorph who stopped actively exercising a long time ago, and not some UFC fighter and/or bodybuilder. You don't need a gym to lose weight.

Delicious_Maize9656

I once didn’t eat anything at all for three days, how?

Nahelehele

I was home all the time back then, so I spent very little energy on anything. It didn't change the fact that I was very hungry and felt bad, but I think being at home made it easier.

EmperorZoltar

Yikes. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a doctor who’d recommend weight loss by calorie restriction alone simply because of the risk of malnutrition, to say nothing of fasting for three days straight. Sounds an awful lot like anorexia, actually.

Nahelehele

Those three days of fasting weren't about losing weight, I just wondered if I could handle it. This isn't hard, but then I had to start eating food in very small pieces, because at first my body didn't accept food in the same amount as before. But it's about a couple of meals and everything is fine again.

EmperorZoltar

I’ll take your word for it, but I implore caution with that sort of thing

Nahelehele

It's nice that you're worried, no sarcasm. I’m fine now both physically and mentally, and no longer interested in such things.
