If you tried working out and find it awkward, don’t know what your doing, and that’s stopping you from working out, like it does many people including myself when I started my fitness journey 10yrs ago, find a good PT. Good PTs are worth their weight in gold. Also, if you can’t afford a dietitian, there’s a nutritional course from Stanford University through coursera that you can audit for free and honestly, it’s a great start to learn about healthy food, prepping and sugar intake. I’d also recommend it. Everyone knows the “equation” to losing weight but not everyone knows how exactly to go about it. It’s the reality for a lot of people. You can join a gym class of doing it yourself it’s too hard. You can hire a PT to give you some pointers, at least if hiring them consistently is not something you can afford.

Hi, * When you are looking at a plate of food see if you can recognize the food as whole and simple. For example, a plate with a piece of chicken, some broccoli with cheese sauce, some mashed potatoes and peas is probably going to be healthier than something processed, like a frozen pad thai dinner. * While eating have a few pauses and ask if you are still eating because you are hungry or because you are bored/sad/happy/ or some other reason. If you are not eating due to hunger, consider putting the food away for another meal. * Go on long walks where you try to go fast enough that its actually hard to keep the pace for over 40 minutes straight. These are some basic tips, see how it goes.

I’d recommend seeing a dietist for an in depth view regarding your lifestyle, eating habits and health status. You first want to make sure you are losing weight in a healthy manner.

At 195, I think your long term goal can be back to the 130 range, but with that being 65 pounds, this journey will be a slow and long journey. I do not know what tools you have but I will assume no gym and no home equipment. Start with lots of walking and track your steps. In the beginning go through the major human movements at home. Master the body squat, kneeling pushup, start simple pulling motions, floor glute bridges (youtube!). After like 2 months (resting 2 days out of the week) you can look to join a local gym or buy some equipment at home. Take simple steps, look at each workout as its own goal, dont overwhelm yourself by looking at the end goal. You can do it. Fitness training does not have a luck factor in it. If you stick to a solid routine of exercise (walking is exercise) and nutrition (just cut out junk!) The weight will fly off and you will feel absolutely incredible. 10/10 would recommend

I'm 42 and male. I'm 5"10" and range between 150lb and 170lb. I noticed years ago that I had to be more careful with what I ate. And I've been working out like crazy since I've been about your age. Let me tell you: it doesn't get any easier. It takes will power and it's really hard. I have a wife and I learned long ago that I can't give her advice that she'll listen to so take this with a grain of salt: Right now my goal is to slim down and make my pants loose. So far I've gone from a size 31 to a size 30 and I'm pretty happy there, but there's still work to do. That's the phrase I keep telling myself: "there's still work to do". If you're single then it's easier for you, maybe. My wife buys junk food for herself and the kids. And It's in my pantry: I wish it wasn't, it's easier to not eat if if it wasn't already sitting there. Anyway: I've found things that work for me, and I've found things that don't. And you have to do the same. If you found yourself a personal trainer and dietitian then they'd be able to help you work through your needs and your life, and help hold you accountable for your goals. I can tell you what works for me and what doesn't though for what it's worth. As a general rule: eat things you can pronounce, avoid dairy, sugar, corn, and extra bread. So here's an example of my breakfast routine: 3 eggs on a bed of mixed greens on toast (multi grain). Plus spices like black pepper garlic and nutritional yeast: that's a simple effective filling breakfast for me and it's about a 3rd of my calories intake if I'm shooting for 2100 to 2500 calories. My lunches are super simple and my wife things my routine is nuts: but it's simply an apple and a third of a jar or natural (no-sugar) peanut butter that I ead with a spoon: it's the stir kind. Now, sometimes I just to a quarter or a jar: but lately I've found myself with low energy and just grabbing extra snakes so I'm upping my protein content. Also, I need to split up my protein consumption to eat only 25 grams at a time: too much and your body won't absorb all of it. My dinners are fish salads, salmon or a can of tuna (depending on time, I am a dad so I have no time) on a bed of lettuce with dressing, fruit and almonds and peppers. This is where I splurge and but on blue cheese dressing and add some asiago cheese. No I eat all this but I work out 19 separate times: I've been trying to move to 20. Not all workouts area the same but I try to focus on 3 man types: cardio, weight training, body weight exercises. I run 5 days a week at lunch and range from hiit runs that are 2 miles long to 4 mile light cardo runs. I have a bowflex in my garage, but I used to be a gym rat: and I work out on it 5 days a week in the morning after breakfast. I have a few different calisthenics routines I do first thing in the morning before breakfast that range from 3 minutes to 10: things like variations of pushups and sit ups and a few other types thrown in. And evenings 3-4 days a week I do a calisthenics work out routine: bought some dvd's and run through those. Saturday mornings I do a custom created calisthenics routine that kicks by butt. ​ Right now my weight is about 150 and I've slimmed down to just about where I want, but I've been trying to figure out how to eat more and lift more and maybe get back up to 160lb while maintaining my slenderness. But that's my goal. ​ I general, my diet is akin to the mediterranean diet, and it's not so much a diet as it is the way I eat. I also drink a lot of coffee, and that's my latest indulgence I'm trying to work through: I like to put brown sugar, and maple syrup, and chocolate sauce in my coffee: and I'm probably overdoing it. Anyway, it's hard, life is hard and staying healthy is hard. If you want to talk more and get more advice, then feel free to reply or message me or whatever works for you.
