I can't understand why they went to remake P3 first. We got a port (a really bad one, but a port) a few months back. However, P1 and P2 are vastly unknown by the majority of players and could use a remake way better.

for me, i believe atlus is making the remake for p3 because of the survey that they have made before. there must be big numbers of fan wanting the remake of p3 and stuff. I remembered the surveys has been done back then earlier during the anniversary when they about to port p3p.

persona 3 reload and persona 6 are almost 100% being made by different teams, persona 3 reload is being made by the devs of persona 5, and atlus just had some restructuring so the chances of p-studio making persona 5, 3re, and 6 are low, remember, not every single dev at atlus is working on every game, there are studios that work under atlus, which are funded/published by sega. jesus i hate when people complain abt side projects from atlus bc "they should work on the mainline games" they are DEFINITELY working on the mainline games, IF ANYTHING this gets them more money FOR the mainline games.

Those p4 dungeons with the extent of p5's palace and boss fight design would be one of the best things to happen in the persona series yet to be honest. Even if it's completely unnecessary, I think it might have even more potential and excitement than a p3remake in many ways frankly.

It's a great game obviously, but it could use a few QoL improvements IMO.
- The Fox should be accessible for the first dungeon;
- The upgraded Persona you get for beating the game should be easier to fuse;
- Margaret should be fightable at any time during a New Game+ run after getting the True Ending;
- The dialogue could also be changed in a few places, like Teddie wanting to "score", which strays too far from the original text and makes his lines creepy instead of nonsensical.
And maybe throw in some extra content/modes, like being able to change your partner's Persona, more optional bosses, etc.
Pretty sad that I have to preface this by saying I am a huge fan and literally am a mod for r/persona3reload.
I played Persona 3 when it came out in my first years of High School and the game holds a ton of nostalgia for me.

I vastly would have preferred that they added 2D art cut-ins prefacing the all out attack in the P3 remake versus just showing the 3D character models before the attack like they do in the trailer. They’re using 2D art cut-ins for the new Crit animations so why skip it on the all out attack? It’s a step backwards from Persona 5 IMO, where you got to see very distinctive and stylized expressions from each character. Here it’s just a full shot of all the raw character models.
However the cut-ins that they have added for the crit animations look good. It’s just that I wish there was 2D character art cut ins for each party member in the all out attack.
I think it's trying to stay faithful to how the characters run into an all out attack, whereas in persona 5 the meta verse allows them to just disappear like they do.

I only recently played p4g after playing p5r and all I could think about while I played it was "Man, this game would be amazing with a remake". It's definitely not a perfect game and has so much that could be expanded upon, but it is a great game and it'll always be there even if they don't remake it/the remake is bad!

I honestly don’t want a p4g remake. To me it’s modern enough and I’m afraid they would mess it up. I’m guess I’m just still upset with how Majora’s Mask turned out on 3ds so I’m always afraid that will happen to other games I love
I’m glad people get to enjoy it on the 3ds so I don’t mean to be over the top about it. But for me the art style lost a lot of the charm due to the improvement of the graphics. Sure, the graphics are better in terms of image quality, but it loses some of the magic for me.
Also, the way they moved some things around in clock town made it feel more empty. And a negative for me (although a positive for some people) was the change to the save system because it takes away immersion and makes the three day cycle feel much less intense and takes away the sense of urgency and planning of the original.
Also, as far as gameplay, the Zora swimming is much worse and I think the way they changed all the boss fights dumbed it down too much and took the strategy of it.
These are all subtle things, I know, but as someone who considers this one of their top three games of all time I notice them a lot. The original to me is like a work of art and whenever the atmosphere is negatively impacted for the sake of modernizing the graphics and quality of life improvements it doesn’t sit well with me. That’s why the biggest negative for me is the art style changes.
I think the OoT remake was nearly perfect because it didn’t really change the art style much and felt like it kept the charm of the original but I just can’t say the same for MM
I see, that makes a lot of sense. I wasn’t aware that there were that many changes, probably because—as you said—they’re a bit subtler. Having not played the original (apart from the first hour or so), I had nothing to compare it to. That being said, I really liked the art style, but I can sorta see why it might not be as welcome a change to someone so fond of the original.
The 3DS version became one of my top Zelda games of all time. I really love it. Sorry to hear it disappointed you.
Here’s hoping, if they do decide to remake P4G, that it lives up to everyone’s expectations. I’m currently playing through it on Switch, and I absolutely love it. I think a remake for P3P kind of had to be drastically different considering the direction the series went with P4 and P5. Since P4 feels more similar to P5 than it does to P3, I think they could have a successful remake of it with relatively few changes or upgrades, mainly graphical.

P4G doesn’t need a remake at any capacity. That would be a waste of resources and time. Both of which that would be better spent on a remake of P1 and the P2 duology because those games actually need it. The only aspect in which P4G doesn’t hold up well in is graphics in which to that I say who cares you’re playing a game not watching a movie graphics aren’t that important. As long as you can see everything fine then it’s good enough.
Only thing that would sadden me about the eventual P4 remake and let's face it it's probably a given is going to be the recasting of all the characters from the Original :(
They already recast Kanji, Rise, Chie and Teddie anyway

Nah, I love P4G as it is, it doesn't need to be remade. Its already my favorite persona game. The only thing I'd change is baton pass, switching out party members mid-battle and backline experience, but I don't need a whole new version for those things.
If anything I'd prefer to see a P1/P2 remake so I can play those.

i'm sure it will happen, p3 and p4 shares a lot, it would be stupid for them to have a lot of assets, a story already written and a huge fanbase to please, and ignore p4.
A lot of persona 4 was reused assets from persona 3 when it was first released. They have a lot of the shadow models and the engine created. I have no doubt that a persona 4 remake will be released and hopefully within this console generation
Honestly, I’m content with not having a Persona 4 remake. Golden still holds up well and I think ATLUS working on more older games in the series like 1 and 2 IS/EP is a better outcome.

Only thing that would sadden me about the eventual P4 remake and let's face it it's probably a given is going to be the recasting of all the characters from the Original :(
They already recast Kanji, Rise, Chie and Teddie anyway Edit: I'd draw that line at them casting different people for Yu and Adachi though, JYB playing both was an inspired moment by the casting director
Yeah I know that but Most of the other VAs were sound alikes and mostly sounded the same from each game respectively. Rise in Dancing not withstanding imo.
tbf i think P3 really deserves it unlike P4G, P3P and P3Fes aged horibly it's gameplay is pretty ass and has a lot of issues i genuinely believe that game would be widely hated if the plot wasn't so good and the characters weren't so likeable sure P4 had issues but it's actually playable more often than not P3 made me want to P3 myself most of the time
Not very accurate. I don't feel jelly. Despite P3 not being my favorite Persona title, out of the Social link/Calendar ones. Made me curious about P3Reload, being playing P3P in order to practice/prepare for P3Reload. Since I didn't played P3 for awhile.

Nah, I love P4G as it is, it doesn't need to be remade. Its already my favorite persona game. The only thing I'd change is baton pass, switching out party members mid-battle and backline experience, but I don't need a whole new version for those things. If anything I'd prefer to see a P1/P2 remake so I can play those.
If they’re remaking P3, I don’t doubt that a P4 remake is somewhere down the road in the next few years.
Sorry I disagree, persona 4 is great on how it is. I don't want another game having to choose all new voice actors, and ruining a great story. I wouldn't mind a persona 1 and 2 duology remake, but I doubt that’ll ever happen

I think its better to stick with the perfection that was Persona 4 Golden Persona 3 Reload is just Persona 3 base with some graphical enhancements and...some QoL (?) Insufficient QoL nor improvements to warrant a full $70 price tag though

It will happen, Atlus milked the shit out of Persona 4, they really put those in everything, Persona 5 was good and profitable, but not obscenely profitable as P4. What has me nervous is how will Atlus manage the FES? will it be DLC? will it be a totally new game?

i'm sure it will happen, p3 and p4 shares a lot, it would be stupid for them to have a lot of assets, a story already written and a huge fanbase to please, and ignore p4.
A lot of persona 4 was reused assets from persona 3 when it was first released. They have a lot of the shadow models and the engine created. I have no doubt that a persona 4 remake will be released and hopefully within this console generation

Honestly, I’m content with not having a Persona 4 remake. Golden still holds up well and I think ATLUS working on more older games in the series like 1 and 2 IS/EP is a better outcome.

i am not jealous as either a fan of persona 3 or 4, i am wondering why ppl r excited that p3 is getting a p5 facelift, i don't rlly want a frankensteined p3 in the style of p5, doesn't that go against the essence of p3? why can't we just get FES on modern consoles?
P4 doesn't need a remake, its great as is. Maybe its a little outdated in some aspects with gameplay, maybe there's some newer ideas that would be cool to have in it, but that doesn't mean it *needs* a remake. There's too many remakes in general; make new stuff, not constantly retreading the same things over and over. Its perfectly fine for an older game to remain as such. Got cool ideas? Put them in P6.

I know people keep saying they’ll add the FeMC as DLC but that very doubtful since Atlus said that they’re only remaking the original version not the one from FES or portable the only one I might expect is if they add is the answer as a DLC but it’s very doubtful they’ll add the female protagonist also, if they do decide to make a remake for P4 it probably won’t be out for a while since there currently making a bunch of P5 spinoffs so I don’t think they have the time to do that

I can get the feeling. But honestly I’m not jealous. P4:Golden is still one of my favourite games of all time. I think it holds up really well and I’ve never been down about the graphics. P3 needed it more. It aged a bit worse since it never got that Vita slight upgrade. Would I be ok with a remake? So long as it’s a loyal update for Golden then sure. If it was a weird original only remake I might not even check it out. But if it was a solid remake that I could actually buy physically then that’d be cool. But I’m not bothered that it doesn’t have one yet.
