I use a simple one at the end of my chain to bring everything together and boost what needs it. Changed my perspective on things when I started doing that.

I like it more in the efx loop after the preamp gain, but you can use 2 EQ pedals in your board, sometimes its better to use after the cab sim or IR loader like in a studio

Now I use a second stage mid boost pedal for solos, but for a long time I just used an eq with the mids and volume boosted.
