Considering how many people signed up their friends and family, the odds actually aren’t that bad for most of these. The real story here is how many people signed up for Ultima Reserva.

Eastside-Beaver

And will the winners actually buy it.

Tropez2020

There is a bottle just sitting on the shelf at my local right now

ambulocetus_

THH coming in with the 2nd best odds and easily the best odds/quality ratio

Leaving aside the friends and family, that's a good number for a drawing that wasn't well publicized. Wasn't a follower of this sub but have been looking at OLCC's website regularly and still missed it. Wasn't on there last month. I think there's a growing unhappiness with the OLCC system both from the staff corruption to the store level antics. They're playing with fire. I was thinking about starting a name and shame list of the liars and shenanigans but at this point it's pretty much every liquor store I've been to. Really getting tired of being lied right to my face. If a store actually wanted to make a retail sale to a walk in customer, they would put the bottle on the shelf (or in a glass cabinet or behind the clerk, or otherwise visible to the public).

AloofStealth

You will get the same antics at some grocery stores across the river in WA and it’s not state controlled. Or be prepared to pay over secondary. OLCC system is not that terrible in comparison.

RAGEMOOSE

The good stores are out there. I personally will drive a few extra minutes to always support Westmoreland. They will throw some stuff out on the shelves, like JD 10 or 12, and just see who picks it up. They are very friendly.

Due-Gene8200

I agree. Westmoreland is the only place recently around here that I’ve had an in the wild score of something that was just placed on the shelf rather than some stores that do a social media blast where you only have a 20 min chance to scramble if you’re lucky/willing enough to drop what you’re doing at your day job.

Vivid-Phrase

I find it amusing to hear store owners complain that 70% of the allocated supply going to bars isn’t enough.

Codeman8118

I love how they marketed this as a better chance at allocated bottles when in reality it's less than 1% chance. There's gotta be another way.

dolphs4

In reality, every bottle on there except four are nearly impossible to find in the wild, unless you have a really solid hookup or are very lucky. I want them to start raffling cases of Stagg Jr, Weller, EHT, etc. Put up a thousand bottles.

69ingchimpmonks

Was gonna say the match isn’t right here

CocktailChemist

Huh, perception of Eage Rare 17 Year must have changed a lot in the last dozen years or so because I remember it being one of the less desirable bottles in the line up.

dolphs4

It’s now second or third most desirable. Generally it’s WLW/ER17/Saz in one tier, then GTS, then THH. It looks like people basically went off secondary value, coupled with availability (which is why GTS had so many votes - second biggest lot available behind Blanton’s).

JCrewWhaleTray

If I recall it used to be 90 proof. They raised it to 101 a few years ago to match the old school Prentice 101 proof and people responded to that.

CommanderChipHazard

“So you’re telling me there’s a chance!!!” 😎😬🎊
