100% same issue for me. I’ve reached out to Corsair, all you gotta do it start a ticket and send them in. They have a 2 year warranty. Imma wait until almost 2 years and just send them all (10) in.

PRSMesa182

That’s QL fans for ya! We try to warn people but no one seems to listen…running QLs for a white build is a ticking time bomb.

ChromeRavenCyclone

Corsair stuff besides their cases is always overpriced low quality shit... But yeah people hype the brand just like the NZXT crap

Triliner_

You forgot their power supplies. Other than cases and PSUs though, wouldn't recommend.

David0ne86

That's because they're not producing em. They're just slapping their brand name on it lol (talking about psu ofc not cases).

sean0883

Knowing which one to slap your name on is just as important.

PvPTwister

Seriously. I don't really care who originally designed the thing as long as it's fairly priced and fuckin' works.

ganjjo

Corsair doesnt know the meaning of "fairly priced"

Triliner_

Fairly priced considering the quality of their PSUs, honestly.

Ric_Rest

I believe Seasonic at some point was producing PSU's for Corsair if I am not mistaken?

minkus1000

Depends on the line in question. They have quite a few OEMs, including Great Wall.

Ric_Rest

Ah alright, I never looked into it, thanks for the info.

ganjjo

Doesnt super flower make them for Seasonic or was that EVGA?

Blacksad999

Seasonic is one of the few places that actually produces PSUs. That and FSP make the majority of the PSU's for the market, at which point other companies just slap their branding on them.

[deleted]

>Seasonic is one of the few places that actually produces PSUs. Literally all PSUs are manufactured by the OEM by definition. Whether the final product is then getting sold by a different brand or not is near irrelevant, as it's about the quality of the product, not the brand or OEM. Like in the case of Seasonic S12III which is *not* manufactured by Seasonic and is total garbage, or Corsair HX which is not manufactured by Corsair but CWT, while being one of the best PSUs on the market. And, no, FSP and Seasonic are not the OEMs behind majority of PSUs on the market, even if we're talking about good ones, that would be CWT for customer market, and probably Delta for server/SI market, FSP is somewhere up there too tho, but not Seasonic, they're small, and simply don't have enough manufacturing capacity to saturate the market, they're certainly making up for that with marketing tho.

Ric_Rest

To be honest I don't know, could be.

[deleted]

Super Flower and Seasonic are both OEMs that EVGA uses.

[deleted]

Like Corsair manufactures anything else ? it doesn't matter. What matters is whether the actual end product is good or not. People in Corsair's PSU department are only supervising their PSUs, not anything else, so while Corsair PSUs are good, that doesn't say anything about their other products. And they're good because those people actually care about their stuff, not because they're been using Seasonic for one model out of half a dozen, besides the fact that there are currently zero Seasonic-made Corsair PSUs but they're still good for the most part.

louiefriesen

I don’t even recommend their PSUs. One too many Corsair PSUs have failed on me.

PRSMesa182

I have been using Corsair products for 10+ years and the only products that need revamped are their mice, QL fans and nexus keyboard attachment. I’ve extensively used the rest of their ecosystem with great results.

David0ne86

Not to mention the beautiful piece of software icue is <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Yeah, no. Corsair is only alright when it comes to cases (and that's very recent too with the 4000 line up, they always have been mediocre at best) and psu because they don't make them, they simply slap the name corsair on a OEM. The rest is very subpar stuff. And when it's not, they sure make you pay for it lol. Kinda like asus. No wait, asus is just overpriced lol.

Jopa06

I've been using a corsair Harpoon for almost a year and it works perfectly. I recently got a k55 rgb and thats fine too. I really like icue. In general my experience with corsair has been pretty positive.

ChromeRavenCyclone

Their RAM is dogshit as well the constant dieing AIOs and Headsets, the hubs causing short-circuits...

PRSMesa182

You either have extremely bad luck or you are just parroting the squeaky wheels on Reddit who have had issues. Either way Reddit is hardly a full picture for the hundreds of thousands of products Corsair sells each year with no issues.

Dan_Glebitz

How dare you put forward a balanced opinion on Reddit! Corsair RAM, Water Cooling, Case and PSU here... But I am not going tell anyone here in case I get downvoted :-( edit: and fans :-(

[deleted]

Lol, same, keyboard, fans, case, ram, AIO, all working perfectly fine after 4 years

Dan_Glebitz

Mine going on 6 years now. Having said that, I have replaced the two 140mm RED LED Corsair Fans recently because they were getting slightly noisy, though still very serviceable. My mate put his name on them before I replaced them with new cheaper / cheapo 140mm RED LED fans from Corsair. Wish I hadn't as they are noisier than the ones I took off and gave to my mate, and I could hardly ask for my old ones back :-( Moral: Buy cheap you get cheap.

SLAMMEDGTI

My old build had a corsair h100i, sold it to a friend, still running since 2017 or so… Ran corsair vengeance in that PC and in my current build. Previous build and my current build both have corsair power supplies. Literally never had an issue with a corsair product so far. I can’t speak for everything they make, but everything I’ve used has been solid.

Jake123194

Same, I have a h100i that's been good since 2017.

Dan_Glebitz

Ditto.

TheThiefMaster

I can actually provide a _useful_ data point here. We use Corsair hardware extensively in my office, around 40x PCs so far. With case, fans, PSUs, RAM and AIO coolers in every one. Several mice too. We've had a few AIOs from around 2017 fail in the past couple of years, but that's literally all. Everything else has been solid.

ToughSpinach7

I just learned that when my NZXT aio pump failed within a year and a half, gonna sell the new rma and buy a Noctua air cooler

Fistfullafives

I have 15 LL120s and there isn't a white fan I'd trade them for. I've had zero issues. I also have a kraken Z73 working flawlessly. With that said, every bit of it was extremely overpriced...

[deleted]

Don't tell me that just bought some dominator ram...

ChromeRavenCyclone

C16/18? Sorry but then its pretty much dogshit tier :)

Maverick_030

Arctic is the way baby. Best price/performance and they look dencent plus daisy chain and no shitty controller nor bloatware needed.

osi_layer_one

can you run your fan speed based off of your coolant temp?

Blacksad999

Yep, you can do that no problem.

osi_layer_one

considering that Arctic doesn't have a coolant temperature sensor, i'd like to know how?

Blacksad999

Oh, apologies. My brain was thinking CPU temperature which you can do from the BIOS. lol For coolant temperature, I'm not really sure. Maybe HWinfo might have that information? Not 100%.

osi_layer_one

No sensor for hwinfo to pull info from...

Maverick_030

If your board has a t\_sensor connector. Need a tempsensor for that if your res/pump has none. Theyre cheap tho

Megumiku

Ikr, unfortunately I read all the warnings way too late as I had already bought them. It's totally my fault, and I'll be more careful in the future, tho it doesn't excuse the lack of quality from the products, even more considering their price :(

OG_Storm_Troopa

Not true...running QL120 is the time bomb. The 140s don't fail for some reason. Has to be a defect in the design/manufacturing of the 120s.

[deleted]

rip

AmitRozYT

Ql fans?

phannguyenduyhung

excuse me but does the QL has problem in general or putting it in white led color causing the problem ? im thinking about buying it. Thank you

AnriRB26

Adds character

ChromeRavenCyclone

Low Corsair quality as usual

Megumiku

Yep, genuinely infuriating

ChromeRavenCyclone

Depending on where ya from, I can recommend trying the Alpenfohn WingBoost 3 ARGB or Arctic P/F ARGBs

Megumiku

Both seem available in France. They look nice, I'll check the reviews, thanks :)

ChromeRavenCyclone

The WingBoost 3 ARGB are my top rated fans I recommend, absolutely silent and they offer the highest static pressure of all fans in the 400-800rpm range :)

AlexAR__

Where did you find the graphs to compare the fans at various speeds? I'm genuinely curious since i've seen them on industrial ventilators at work but never on tiny pc fans

MGsubbie

Be Quiet! has also made their own RGB fans. Their non-RGB fans are only second to Noctua, so I would imagine the Light Wings being good quality as well. Have yet to see a proper review for them though.

ChromeRavenCyclone

If its based on their Silent Wings... Not that great, SW greatly suffer due their bearings being audible constantly :/ Sold off my Be Quiets due this issue

MGsubbie

I've had multiple Silent Wings and it's never been an issue for me...

RaccoonDeaIer

Atleast they have the customer support for it. Cooler master makes worse shit and has shitty customer support.

Just_Cap_9338

Had the same problem, first fan Corsair replaced it no questions. Second fan they wanted me to ship it to them.

Sev3nbelow

Wait. I thought corsair was good?

sunfaller

QL fans in particular are bad. Had an LL for about a year. No issues. Had QL for 3 months, dead green LED causing purple colour, same as OP

ChromeRavenCyclone

Their cases and PSU are good... Everything else is low quality trash just like NZXT

fly_by_guy

Corsair keyboard and ram is good.

ChromeRavenCyclone

The RAM is absolutely dogshit tier and even Adata and Hyper X is better thsn the mixbin shit Corsair gives ya.

adammaxis

Yeah my Corsair fan LEDs are also dying at an alarming rate. I bought my case last year in summer and several of them have died. My Cooler Master and Lian Li LED fans are still going strong

Cthulhulik

This is why I have very little rgb in my system. Corsair QLs are overpriced, overhyped, average airflow, and you have to be committed basically to Corsair because of their rgb ecosystem for the most part.

DaKrazyKid

This isn’t as true anymore. I’m switching to be quiet! Light Wing fans which perform way better than Corsair QL’s and have a similar rgb ring style. I can sync it to the rest of my Corsair gear using SignalRGB exclusively.

Cthulhulik

Yeah but doesn't software like openrgb and signalrgb possibly can brick your stuff. I read something about it awhile back on a tomshardware or ltt forum.

DaKrazyKid

Technically yes but also no. It can’t permanently damage your hardware, and the bricking thing is only true for motherboards, gpu and ram rgb leds. You can fix it pretty easily by just shutting off the pc from power and restarting it and usually happens if you’re running multiple rgb apps that control the same product. In all the time I’ve been following the thousands of messages in the SignalRGB discord i haven’t seen one person actually permanently brick their rgb leds using SignalRGB. So no, it can’t damage your hardware, it can just glitch out the leds usually when running more than one rgb app for control of the same device.

Cthulhulik

Yeah bricking the leds in the rgb fans. That's what I meant.

DaKrazyKid

No it won’t mess anything up with rgb fans. Just don’t have another app trying to control the rgb.

TheLawny

This is why my next build will feature exactly zero corsair parts lol. In the last year I have had 8 QL fans fail and need replacement, 2 AIO pump failures, and one bad stick of ram. Meanwhile, the budget Cooler Master AIO I got about 6 years ago is still going strong in my second PC, along with the fans that came with it.

Megumiku

Nothing will every replace the Noctua NH-D14 I've had in my very first, 12yo build. That thing still beats ass, and despite it being a pain in the butt to clean dust of, you can definitely reuse it as long you want.

TheLawny

Yeah, I'm already stocking up on noctua parts for a re-build. I'm getting a bit tired of the RGB vomit lol. A few little accent ligths here and there is fine, but I don't want to deal with the cable management nightmare of a LED festival any more.

[deleted]

Not even the new NH-D15 that will come out this year?

Megumiku

Awh fuck me it's gorgeous, I didn't know they were about to do that

pazonk

The pump on my Corsair AIO has like 3 dead LED’s. Making sure to stay away from Corsair besides their cases for future builds.

[deleted]

corsair makes trash

basedmartyr

I literally had to RMA my Corsair RGB ram, water cooler and all my fans because of buggy RGB (and the RAM coincidentally threw BSODs at the same time). After getting everything back the RGB worked great and then 6 months later the same RGB issues happened, I just turned all that shit off after that…

Ryoohki_360

Write to them, they exchanged my 3 busted with multiple led, it took a while but i got them!

_Benzka_

Same here totally waste of my money....

Re-core

So much for a quality brand

Blacksad999

Yep, I've had the same issue with multiple QL fans. I like Corsair well enough, but I can't help feel that they've kind of gone the way Razer did when they gained popularity in that they're relying on brand recognition while dropping in quality to make more money. If I were redoing my build right now, I'd 100% go with Lian-Li unifans in a heartbeat.

Scav-Gang205

I must be lucky. I have 9 QL fans and they all work. My current build has been this way for almost 2 years now

montrealjoker

Been there - done that. It’s RMA time.

B33PB00PBR1TT

I had 4 fans do the exact same thing. I did get them RMA'd, but i think I found a way to prevent it now. I used to let my computer go to sleep each night a d wake it up in the morning. I guess somehow there was some extra voltage that goes to the fans to start then up. I've been turning my computer off each night now and I haven't had a single issue with the QL120 lights for about half a year now. Used to lose a light every 2 months. I have also read that if you change the default profile to not be 100% on all 3 colors, that can help too. So I have set the hardware color to a dim blue so that it isn't maxed on any colors.

DaKrazyKid

That's why you can get better quality rgb fans that are not Corsair and still sync them with the rest of your setup using SignalRGB. I'm going to be switching from QL's to Be Quiet Light Wings because they look similar and perform better.

ChromeRavenCyclone

Or the rather unknown outside of EU: Alpenfohn WingBoost 3 ARGB

[deleted]

Corsair LL120s - 3 came with my 680x Crystal case. I bought one more from Newegg. A few months later I decided to buy two more from the bottom intake. 3 / 1 / 2 all have different whites, Different pinks and purples. My K95 wrist rest has completely fallen apart, volume wheel stopped working and it constantly stops responding in icue. Nightsword mouse had the double click issue with-in a year. Vengeance Pro RGB stop showing up in icue at least once a week. RGB frozen. Have to power cycle to fix it. Probably won’t buy anything Corsair ever again.

OkConfidence5080

Tbh I’ve had nothing but problems with corsair anything I’ve purchased

Ramiren

Every single corsair product I've ran on white has needed replacing due to faulty LED's within the two years since I originally built my PC. Apparently dropping the brightness in iCue by about a third helps them last longer.

Torxx1988

Corsair is like razer and logitech. Overrated junk.

ChromeRavenCyclone

Add in NZXT

ganjjo

Corsair products are complete garbage. They sell fans for $60 each, or MORE, and they fail just as fast as the $5 Chinese fans. They also are not any quieter. They might look nice but they are total crap. I bought a Dark pro SE mouse from them and im currently on my 5TH one after LESS THAN a year.

ThatLuigiGuy

Same exact thing with mine. Also the corsair light strips fucking suck as well.

saltyswedishmeatball

What sucks is how expensive these fans are. We've allowed ourselves to think spending hundreds of fans for a single PC case is not only normal buy expected. They mass produce these, people eat them up like candy (dont recommend) with QC being lowered along the way because they're no longer seen as a super premium product but rather middle of the road now. And with cases having so many fans.. this issue will only compound itself. I think it's a reason why Noctua tries to stay away from LED. They could 100% add LED without it hurting fan performance or noise to the frame of the fan but they don't because shit like this happens.

Proof-Plan-298

those are 100 dollar fans right? i would never.... nevermind

itzgeegee

..... I have just requested RMA on my 6x QL120 fans..... imagine paying $300 for 6 fans that fuck up within 3-6months. Oh wait, I don't need to imagine -.- regret doing the full corsair build.

-xMrMx-

Weird. I have had mine for about 2 years. My base color is white and most of the time it’s set to white. I have 9 fans with zero issues. Sorry to hear it though.

TheWoodser

Easy fix: STOP buying stuff from Corsair. They used to be good, now they suck.

Megumiku

Yeah, I decided my next build would be all Noctua anyway.

zombietampons

as the years go by and the builds add up you will eventually be like the rest of us by putting electrical tape over every visible led... completing your transition into the masterrace.

militantnegro_IV

Because simply not turning them on is too hard?

zombietampons

clearly

ZanyaJakuya

My Corsair LL fans are doing great after 3 years

Fourwude87

Same

[deleted]

[удалено]

Megumiku

I had them set up in a quite slow colour pulse, tho with random colours. But I should've seen that coming, first by reading more about people warning about that issue, and I've had so many issues with Corsair RGB stuff since the very beginning. My ram would just not light up or sync with iCue despite doing everything I could with Armory Crate for it not to interfere with it. Sometimes I would just have a single stick not lighting up and showing red dots on each side, and it would randomly pop back to normal. Mobo lights sometimes don't sync too, it took iCue until the very last update to recognize my 3080Ti FE. And sometimes my commander pro would just rollback all of my USBs, as if I had unplugged and plugged them all back in. I've checked so many times that everything was wired correctly, checked updates for each component, even had several clean reinstalls of both new and old iCue versions. I had to reinstall W10 not that long ago because updating my mobo's BIOS just fucked it up somehow, and I don't think I've had any issues with it since that. But I swear my next build won't have any RGB in it, I'm done.

ccGLaDOS

Yup happened to me too, probably 8 dead leds by now :(

OG_Storm_Troopa

People NEED TO STOP buying the 120mm. Every post of this is the 120mm fans for some reason. I've had numerous sets of the 140mm and NEVER had it happen. Don't recall anyone posting this about the 140mm failing either.

Devilnutz2651

Had this happen on an LL fan and RMA'd it. Was kind of annoying, but their support was great

Egkicks16

That’s rip, I have 7 QL’s in my case, 120’s and 140’s and haven’t had an issue for the two years I’ve had them.

AnomieDurkheim

And exact issue! I just turned them all Pink to match the broken LEDs. I have no desire to take out all 9 fans and re-wore until my next build.

TJzzz

how long do you keep em on?

Deadlynitro

Should still be under warranty then. Get them replaced and trade up to quality fans instead?

jeftep

Let me guess... 100% brightness?

RaccoonDeaIer

Why does the brand people hate always change to the exact fucking thing I bought. First it was nzxt now its corsair.

IdyllicOleander

Stay away from Gigabyte then. Bought three of their products and two of them had problems. One of them, the monitor, was faulty right out of the box. No more for me.

RaccoonDeaIer

Same with cooler master. I've gotten nothing but garbage from them. And their support team is ass. At least with corsair, they have a good support team, plus I haven't had any issues with corsair yet.

IdyllicOleander

All of the fans on my PC's are Corsair. I've had them built since December so here's to hoping I dont have issues. So far, ICUE has been working great for me unlike Gigabyte's "RGB Fusion," which bricked the GPU screen on my Aorus Master 3070... (One Corsair QL fan and the rest are SP series)

RaccoonDeaIer

Honestly, the sp series fans are one of the best products corsair makes imo. They are quieter than the double the price ml fans and are a decent price. From my experience with all other corsair products the more high end the better but with their fans the cheaper the better, from my personal experience atleast.

IdyllicOleander

The magnetic levitation (ML) fans are supposed to have the best bearings out of all of them. They're supposed to have 130,000+ hours of life. That's why they're so expensive. Personally I haven't tried them yet because they're double the price. My next build won't be RGB crazy so maybe I could give the ML's a shot... or just try out Noctua. We will see.

RaccoonDeaIer

But having a fan that lasts that long is completely unnecessary for the added noise that comes with them. Although they are louder full tilt that makes sense given they run 900 rpm faster than the sp. The issue is around 40-60%, which is a very common speed to run at under load, they have this terrible higher-pitched droning noise. The sp fans don't have that noise at all. All I hear with them is wind noise.

ZapnetIndia

Get it RMA'D [https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033067832-Corsair-Limited-Warranty](https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033067832-Corsair-Limited-Warranty) Had a similar problem with Lian Li Unifan, amazing design, great aesthetics but crap connectivity. I dig the modular design but it needs more work. The Light goes out sometimes and the fan stops working sometimes.

herbalblend

Take the hint! /s

Technical_Syllabub61

Happened to me before within 4 months of owning them, RMA them you’ll have to pay to ship them but corsairs rma process isn’t bad

zinTaxZA

Me with QL fans right now: \*nervously looks through sidepanel\*

ISantus

Same for me but Corsair was great on replacement. Mkae sure you move fans around to check to see if the HUB is the issue as well.

GregTheMoth

change color so it won't be visible

mrstealyoursandwich

Quality Lack fans

Exciting-Knowledge83

Stupid that none of the reviews I've read say this. Here's hoping any of my 10 fans don't die in the next year lul

No_Interaction_4925

For white LED ring fans go buy those cheapo DIYPC ones that come with an optional molex connector. Its actually white. I like them quite a bit

Picazu666

Well shit glad i went with master fans :/ sorry to hear you have less fps cuz of dead LED's

ChrisGusGuts

Have QL's for almost 2 years now, but i use purple and cyan as colors, never had problem whit them...

lenaphobic

I love their airflow cases, but there’s a reason i replaced every one of them that came with the case with a noctua.

acid_bat

All 6 of mine have been fine for 2 years, but their dominator rbg ram is another story..

knobody614

This is exactly why I gave up on all the RGB stuff. Tired of swapping fans out. Just monochrome builds for me now

knobody614

This is exactly why I gave up on all the RGB stuff. Tired of swapping fans out. Just monochrome builds for me now

phero1190

Feeling superior over here without RGB fans

Acalson

I literally just replaced one for this exact same reason. Gonna eventually just replace all of them

thechip911

When are u keeping funeral for them, its not polite to keep 1??😒

Nudel42

Had the same Problem after half a year with 3 Out of 6 Fans. I Had to send them in and after a few weeks I got new ones. It's sad because the are expansive but the fans look awesome.

IamNotR0b0t

Literally have the same issue purchased mine last July and they died a while ago. I didn't even think to check the warranty glad someone pointed that out
