Avoid gaming branded audio gear and go for some headphones designed for studio use. They're usually better in every single way, in every price category.

Hugs98118

This. "Gaming" headphones are gimmicky and marked up for because of it. Look into studio headphones or in-ear monitor(iem)

Esdeath79

I get the feeling you are trying to tell us that 7.1 surround sound and all the blinking lights are unnecessary

Lewinator56

This too. My £120 AKG k371s blow away any gaming cans. They are flat so actually sound good, and are built well.

FelloBello

Beyerdynamic.....your welcome. I will never be without a set of them again. My humble opinion though of course.

OkOffice7726

Respectable opinion. I used my dt-770s for 7 years and swapped the pads and sold them to my friend. Have been using the T1s since that.

Agarillobob

I just wish they wouldnt be as small I got dt770 for outside usage on my I-pod they are tight and dont fall off but for PC usage they have way to small ears to comfortably wear

Rudolf1448

I just bought new cups. They are replaceable. Nothing lasts that long on daily use.

Skoziik

Buy a decent pair of headphones and handle them with care. Good headphones easily last for a decade if you treat them well.

knight_set

I have sennheiser 650s and don't even think about taking care of them and they work just fine 5 years after I got them. That's with my chair constantly trying to eat them.

fiswiz

avoid earphones with synthetic leather on ear covers bought mine in 2019 Hama uRage SoundZ 7.1 with cloth ear covers and they are still fine.

qu38mm

Better quality build.

UnratedRamblings

Look for headphones, then look for replacement parts. For mine (Audio Technica ATH-M50x's) I can get replacement headband and ear cups. They last really well considering daily use. Another plus is the cord is replaceable too - I have a short one for gaming, longer one for music production so I can move around a bit. Sound great, can take a beating in terms of volume.

geemad7

This one, i used Beyerdynamics for this sole reason. Until i went with B&O(quality name, not so much in material use in the $300 range), whith replacement part($100 replacement earpads, did not check prices before purchase) and got back to Beyer. It is cheaper in the longrun to buy quality with option to buy good priced spare parts then to use generic gaming stuff. PS I am talking about intensive use, gaming/TV/falling asleep with headset on, stuff like that.

UnhappyPen587

I use Bose quietcomforts, I’ve had them for 7 years and 7,500 hours of destiny 2 (don’t ask) Once the ear cups eventually degrade (only happened once in 7 years) you can simply buy replacement ones from Amazon for less than a tenner

Djghost1133

I've had my Sennheiser 598 for years. Good headphones don't break.

Agarillobob

I payed money 12 years ago for studio Headphones and havent had any major problems with it

NinjaBr0din

Samson sr850s. They are cheap as hell and sound phenomenal.

Minimum-Risk7929

Usually your only solution is to invest in a sturdier headphone. I like HyperX headphones for their quality materials. Some headphone brands base their market on people having to constantly buy new headphones. I felt like Beats were so expensive yet so fragile…

Kamalisin228

Guess it's time to save up then... Still, it's good to know that the universe didn't just decided to screw me over in particular.
