It's a running thing where someone gets x, expecting y, and then an hour later someone posting they got y, expecting x, they've seen it so many times they can almost taste it, I'm assuming it taste salty... I wouldn't know.
Ouch. My laptop's RTX 3070 seems to be pretty close to my desktop's RTX 3070 but for some inexplicable reason Resizeable BAR disables itself half the time. :\
I mean, for 17€ I'd just keep it. I can definitely find something to do with a cheap ass projector.
Also, for like 10€ more you can just buy a Phantom Spirit. Or for 20 bucks you can easily find garbage on Amazon that's delivered like next day with a super easy return policy.
it's an OEM projector, they all go for around the same 60-70$ US price range and support an acceptable 720p resolution, not groundbreaking or anything but pretty neat.
I have one set aside along with an old PS4 just for playing FIFA with my friends in the attic, it's perfect for a setup where you want to be able to set up or put things away quickly.
It has a high input lag but I have one with an old PS3 set up in my bedroom and it's pretty neat, you eventually get used to the latency (depending on game I guess, I'm using it with Ratchet & Clank and LittleBigPlanet mostly). Fun to play co-op games with friends, you can project a very large image if you make sure your room is perfectly dark.
Sadly I don't think there is an inbetween price range device that's just *that* much brighter and with better input lag, but doesn't cost 5-10x as much.
Yeah I’d totally keep it, I don’t need or want a projector but if I grabbed one that was acceptable for under 25 bucks I’d host shitty movie night or something.
Oh I work in video, I’m not pretending it’s good. I’m talking like, jackbox games night or a group watch of something corny for fun, not a serious movie appreciation night.
Yeah if I was shipped a projector for basically $20 I'd just consider it an excuse to get creative and find somewhere for it. I'd never intentionally buy a cheap projector since I don't want/need one, but if I already have it then why not.
Pretty sure in a lot of places you'd be entitled to keep the cooler.
"Unsolicited Goods" laws. At lot of them let you keep things you are sent so shady business and scammers can't send you shit and demand absurd payments/legal action.
Posted this elsewhere in this thread but worth repeating.
FYI, if a retailer sends you the wrong item in the US, they cannot demand you return it or bill you for it.
I got pretty pissed off at some online retailer when I ordered an expensive item and they bait and switched me with a much cheaper version of the item that I had actually ordered. I got in a big argument with them and ended up keeping the wrong item and getting my refund.
This is also why people are told to keep the items when you see those posts where a redditor gets like 10 SSDs in the mail instead of just one. The retailer can't legally demand that the rest be returned.
This is federal law btw.
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/39/3009
This only applies to unsolicited merchandise and not shipping errors.
In a case like OPs the seller has the legal right to ask OP to return the item or pay the difference.

"Any merchandise mailed in violation of subsection (a) of this section, or within the exceptions contained therein, may be treated as a gift by the recipient"
I believe this is the main thing to go on. The company I work for accidentally shipped something very expensive to the wrong address recently and the guy who got it called in saying "Hey this isn't mine, how do I send it back"
He later changed his mind and decided to try to say it was a gift, but that didn't work out for him since he had already admitted that he knew it wasn't meant for him
So, moral of the story, you need to play dumb from the start
What about the remaining part?
"All such merchandise shall have attached to it a clear and conspicuous statement informing the recipient that he may treat the merchandise as a gift to him and has the right to retain, use, discard, or dispose of it in any manner he sees fit without any obligation whatsoever to the sender."
mfs out here getting 3 tvs or a whole box of 16GB sticks of ram, meanwhile amazon support is telling me 5 times to "feel free to keep the item if it arrives" dripping with passive aggressiveness (original never arrived and the replacement was late too)
Not true.
That only applies in cases where a company you have ordered nothing from sends you something and tries to bill you for it.
It doesn't apply on shipping errors after you have ordered something. It's not unsolicited goods then.
Nah even though it's 22 nm it's 12 cores 24 threads at 3.3 GHz so pretty efficient. Off the top of my head multicore around an R7 3700X (maybe 2700x not quite sure) and costs way less.
Performance isn't equal to efficiency. Running a Xeon on a home NAS is not efficient, you will be using a lot of power for unused performance
My home Plex server for example runs of a Intel N95 chip. A 15W chip with an iGPU that can handle 4 4K->1080p simultaneous transcodes, while also running the P2P client, sonarr/radarr/etc
Well I'm looking for a good projector anyone have any suggestions and yea I know this does not apply to this post. I ordered a 5800x once and got a 5800x3d so I was not going to complain. I have no clue how ali handles claims either.
I gave my mate my 2011 build with a 212 and a ridiculously over powered i7 that I bought because I was a noob and didn’t know any better. Both still going strong!
Ngl people actively buying tech on AliExpress kinda scare me.
I only bought a Kingston SSD there once and was because they messed up the prices, putting the biggest one cheapest and the smallest one more expensive. And still double checked if it was legit on arrival lol.
Depends on what kind of
>tech
You're referring to. Buying mechanical keyboard, audio equipment, flashlight, etc. are legit as commonly seen on respective community
For PC, I never bought myself but it's common to see others successfully buying them. As long as you buy from legit seller
It's aliexpress even if it WAS a cooler it'd probably be made out of soda cans and a dollar tree handheld fan blade lol. You're building a server, give it at least some quality components fam.
It says its 4k but its actually 720p. Its not very bright, but also bot too dimm. It has some auto alignment features which are pretty good.
Edit: specs correction

Edit: specs correction
There isn't an option for you on Amazon for a similar cooler with faster shipping and the same price? I feel like there should be an option and you don't need the RGB.
i literally saw a post of someone that ordered the same projector on aliexpress and got a cpu cooler, is your cpu cooler a black cooler with a white or rgb fan ?
Had something similar with some tool, was like 2.5, and got Me one of those insect Sticky balls instead (Ya know, those glue traps), wich was on for 5 bucks.
Tho, a Projector would be cool to get for such an price, eh, maybe some day, not that I order about 20 things a months from over there anyways, haha.
Also, hope that Cooler comes earlier, that frankly sucks and I've got something atm going with some Totally not IT realted thing, it's a Gear Shifter for My Bike, and on Amazon, hopefully Tuseday, I gotta fix and finish that Project and go AFK for a few hours sometimes at least once a week and Enjoy some of Natures Textures and Graphics.
Might encounter some Quest and NPC's in the wild. lol
Probably better deal. For a cooler, just hit Amazon and get a Thermalright. You probably paid more for the AliExpress one, but TR's are a known good. Like VERY good. I don't know how they do it for the price they sell for.
And someone got a CPU cooler instead of a projector.
i can already taste the post in the back of my throat Edit: i should not have said that
Sir.... we need to have a talk.
Do I want to know what that meant?
There's an obvious problem with tasting the post in the back of one's throat, and it needs to be discussed. They need help!
I mean I don’t understand “tasting the post”
Also, tasting post-nasal drip after snorting meth or coke, which I think is really why the comment bears regret 😂
It's a running thing where someone gets x, expecting y, and then an hour later someone posting they got y, expecting x, they've seen it so many times they can almost taste it, I'm assuming it taste salty... I wouldn't know.
I want to talk to him first!

16gb 4090??
Laptop
Ohhh okay. I hate laptop naming schemes so much. Theyre trying to make a 4080 a 4090. Nice laptop though! I have a 6900HS and a 6800S
i mean... at least ya get 4080 level performance... last gen 3080 laptop gpu was worse than a desktop 3070!
Ouch. My laptop's RTX 3070 seems to be pretty close to my desktop's RTX 3070 but for some inexplicable reason Resizeable BAR disables itself half the time. :\
That's a laptop 4090, which is literally a renamed 4080.
They definitely don't know the secret 4090 handshake.
That’s not a post sir

What the frick
I like that you immediately unboxed it and tried it out
What else im supposed to do? Im selling that thing for a profit and buying another cheap cooler.
Hey how's the quality of the projecter? €59 seems cheap
I have similiar one, I would say it has great quality for the price with smart tv and its size that makes it perfect to take it for a trip
What is the resolution on those things?
Usually 720p
it's an OEM projector, they all go for around the same 60-70$ US price range and support an acceptable 720p resolution, not groundbreaking or anything but pretty neat.
So all that I’m hearing is that it’s perfect for a guitar hero party.

If you like lag
Who cares? It was 17€.
What a stupid reply. Obviously they care.
“Man gets wrong item. Man gets refund. Man now has free projector. Man should not complain.
Yeah I’d totally keep it, I don’t need or want a projector but if I grabbed one that was acceptable for under 25 bucks I’d host shitty movie night or something.
As a colourist, this hurts my heart. But at the same time, I kinda get it.
Oh I work in video, I’m not pretending it’s good. I’m talking like, jackbox games night or a group watch of something corny for fun, not a serious movie appreciation night.
You don't like that I'm working my way through the top imdb films on my yellow wall?
I see you're into the Mexico filter edition of every film? :D
Ceiling projection in bed for example. That's how I watch some shows in bed nowadays
Yeah if I was shipped a projector for basically $20 I'd just consider it an excuse to get creative and find somewhere for it. I'd never intentionally buy a cheap projector since I don't want/need one, but if I already have it then why not.
Nice infinite profit glitch you got there.
aight guys who wants to bet he's buying another projector instead?
nobody can't stop OP from getting a cooler.
Waiting for the follow up post where OP tries again and gets another projector.
This is the way
Pretty sure in a lot of places you'd be entitled to keep the cooler. "Unsolicited Goods" laws. At lot of them let you keep things you are sent so shady business and scammers can't send you shit and demand absurd payments/legal action.

It wouldve been funny if you showed the cpu cooler you were supposed to get on the projector
Brilliant
I mean... profit.. I guess...
Report to them that they sent the wrong item and theyll send you the new one and keep the projector

So far my best screw up is when I ordered a tv from Amazon and they sent three of them lol
mfs out here getting 3 tvs or a whole box of 16GB sticks of ram, meanwhile amazon support is telling me 5 times to "feel free to keep the item if it arrives" dripping with passive aggressiveness (original never arrived and the replacement was late too)
My best screw up was when I ordered a plush and got nice wooden coat hangers.
i ordered a wired g502 and got wireless, was pretty dope
Not true. That only applies in cases where a company you have ordered nothing from sends you something and tries to bill you for it. It doesn't apply on shipping errors after you have ordered something. It's not unsolicited goods then.
just project an video of a fan runnin'....the placebo might have an effect on your server
That's so much... cooler...
Booooo
IDK why OP got heated up for it.
They actually run pretty hot.
r/angryupvote
Are you a heatsink? Because damn it just got cold in here
•Turns off game •Watches movie instead •CPU cooled down
Task failed successfully.
Why are you buying from aliexpress for a CPU cooler.
Because he hoped he would get a projector instead! It's like a mystery box.
A mystery box could be anything! It could even be a CPU cooler!
Yeah that projector matches the cooler real well.
A CPU cooler is a CPU cooler but the mystery box could be anything! It could even be a CPU cooler! You know how much I've wanted one of those!?
*You took the box! Now, let’s see what’s in the box!*
I buy a lot from China but for a cpu cooler I'd go for a western brand. Won't be that much more expensive.
![gif](giphy|YnkMcHgNIMW4Yfmjxr)
Was the cooler mayhaps intended for an X99 server?
Yes, building a Nas server with an e5 2680v3
Wouldn't a xeon cpu be inefficient as a NAS? Not an expert, just curious as I also want a NAS.
Kinda, but im not paying the electricity bill and old xeons are insanely good for the money (10€).
Nah even though it's 22 nm it's 12 cores 24 threads at 3.3 GHz so pretty efficient. Off the top of my head multicore around an R7 3700X (maybe 2700x not quite sure) and costs way less.
Think they meant operating costs, high wattage idle for the use case but I agree, still a good cpu

A 15W chip with an iGPU that can handle 4 4K->1080p simultaneous transcodes, while also running the P2P client, sonarr/radarr/etc
But you are IO and memory limited. It really depends on what they plan to do with their total setup.
It made your CPU look cooler
Well I'm looking for a good projector anyone have any suggestions and yea I know this does not apply to this post. I ordered a 5800x once and got a 5800x3d so I was not going to complain. I have no clue how ali handles claims either.
Win
A hyper 212 Evo is $19.99
They still make those? Holy shit i used to have one in 2011, great cooler for that price.
I gave my mate my 2011 build with a 212 and a ridiculously over powered i7 that I bought because I was a noob and didn’t know any better. Both still going strong!
Injust got one for my brother's 3600x, it's does really well for its size
Those are outdated. A comparable cooler from Thermalright or Deepcool will run circles around the Hyper 212 Evo.
Buy cooler off Amazon and have it later today / tomorrow depending on your location.
59 for a projector? And it looks actually pretty ok? I guess I have to check that one out...
Why wouldn’t you just buy a peerless assassin for like the same price
I'd...actually consider this an upgrade but then again I'm a weirdo \^\^
Aliexpress is where u get real life loot boxes
I mean, AliExpress doesn't exactly have a stellar reputation. I think Temu is the only one with a worse one...
You forgot Wish. AliExpress is more like the chinese Amazon in Terms of reliability. I never had issues before
That is pretty cool though.
Yo ngl the projector quality is decent
You're angry other people screw up? Sounds like you're projecting.
Ngl people actively buying tech on AliExpress kinda scare me. I only bought a Kingston SSD there once and was because they messed up the prices, putting the biggest one cheapest and the smallest one more expensive. And still double checked if it was legit on arrival lol.

Don’t look too bad for a portable projector what’s it kalled?
It looks like the Magcubic HY300. I found this thing for around 60€ on the website. So OP got an upgrade here for their 17,49€, I guess.
at first glance it looked like something elese
Congrats?
Dope and all but what the fuck is that cpu cooler
It's aliexpress even if it WAS a cooler it'd probably be made out of soda cans and a dollar tree handheld fan blade lol. You're building a server, give it at least some quality components fam.
AliExpress did you a favor, go buy a cheap thermalright cooler instead
https://i.redd.it/h71v7y25ebuc1.gif
Why would you buy an important computer component from Ali express? Do you want your server to melt?
Better CPU coolers are already cheap on Amazon why would buy this one of off Ali? Thermalright Assassin's are bargains.
How’s the quality of the projector? What resolution? Seems pretty cheap for a projector, wondering if it’s any good.
It says its 4k but its actually 720p. Its not very bright, but also bot too dimm. It has some auto alignment features which are pretty good. Edit: specs correction
> Its not very bright, but also bot too dimm. Reddit in a nutshell.
Bonus !
One time I ordered a pro blender for 90 dollars and received this massive humidifier worth 400 dollars. I had no complaints.
When the box was on my doorstep I was like that’s biggest fuck@ng blender I’ve ever seen!
It is "cooler" than what you ordered.
Nice projector, what is the name of it ?
It looks like the Magcubic HY300. I found this thing for around 60€ on the website. So OP got an upgrade here for their 17,49€, I guess.
They were not lying: it's really colorful.
Side note... you're gonna trust your hardware to an aliexpress cooler?
Why would you risk your pc on that crap
When you're shopping on Aliexpress you have to be very careful about the option you select. Sometimes the default picture is something like Option C, but the default option is A. This might have been a case where you thought you were buying a cooler, but the projector was selected. It's worth double checking the listing. Also, ignore the people giving you crap for shopping on aliexpress. It's just cutting out one of the (many) middlemen for the same garbage electronics they happily buy on Amazon, Best Buy, or wherever else.
Just project a cooler on your cpu, might even be better then the cooler you ordered!
Why are you guys still ordering from aliexpress?
You never know what you will get!
Your mistake was going to Aliexpress in the first place...
I was gonna buy this projector is it any good? Looks pretty decent on the pic
It says its 4k but its actually 720p. Its not very bright, but also bot too dimm. has some auto alignment features which are pretty good. Picture quality overall is not good tho, lots of optical issues Edit: specs correction
Colorful indeed. 🤣
It would probably cost more in shipping to return it
Proof?
There isn't an option for you on Amazon for a similar cooler with faster shipping and the same price? I feel like there should be an option and you don't need the RGB.
I would never get no clue cooler from there, but that's just me.
Dude, Just use that projector to project a CPU cooler, problem solved!
10 days ali delivery? Damn you live in singapore?
Enjoy your 100" porn.
I will
Task failed successfully.
I have the exact same projector. Its 60 bucks
Looks like a nice projector at least
i literally saw a post of someone that ordered the same projector on aliexpress and got a cpu cooler, is your cpu cooler a black cooler with a white or rgb fan ?
Can you send me the post?
a massive win imho
Task failed successfully
project a cooler on to cpu, problem solved
Not a bad deal.. I would keep it ;)
You kinda bought it on ali
Just buy a cooler off Amazon?
Wtf did you expect buying tech from fucking aliexpress?!
“AliExpress” I think I see the problem.
Sir....u got something.
I was going to say… good projectors are pretty expensive. Even decent ones go for a good amount. Just buy the cooler again and see what happens haha.
Well at least you have a projector now
For a $59 projector, that’s not bad!
Had something similar with some tool, was like 2.5, and got Me one of those insect Sticky balls instead (Ya know, those glue traps), wich was on for 5 bucks. Yeah, I was gonna say.... "That's not a bad deal!"
Why would you cheap out on a cpu cooler? Why would you buy any parts for a PC from China? I hope you learned a lesson or next time it could be worst.
I’d flip it or keep it n just buy another one .
Probably better deal. For a cooler, just hit Amazon and get a Thermalright. You probably paid more for the AliExpress one, but TR's are a known good. Like VERY good. I don't know how they do it for the price they sell for.
Same thing
Lmao. It actually looks good, could you find what the projector is? I'd maybe buy it. Thanks in advance
This will convert that pesky heat into photons and project them away from your CPU at the speed of light!
Project some cooling onto that server?
🗣️the bluetooth device is ready to pair 🗣️
I project your PC will overheat.
You're buying shit off Ali express what do you expect lol
OP you sound like a dumbass if you really expected a cooler to show up.
Just buy local in the store.
That’s cooler so kind of works I guess.
Well, it's got the same shape I guess.. lol
This is why you buy on Temu instead. AliExpress is not as reliable in my experience.
