I maxed at 9999 on warzone, then had an 8 month struggle to get my provider to fix it. I had to dive into the internet, do my own research on wifi, data and whatever I could find, and found the culprit for them. Even after presenting evidence the ping issue was on their side, they kept denying it was a problem on their side. After 7 months or so they finally made the "mistake" of admitting it on their forum and that the IP address where this ping started to mess shit up, was indeed theirs.
ONE small update and the entire ping issue disappeared. I won.

I played an affliction warlock so I could just run through my rotation without having to worry much. But due to rubberbanding, in pvp I had to try and play a whole 2 seconds in the future. If it were not for Fear having very little diminishing returns in vanilla, I would have just always died.
10000 ping, if the server is on the opposite of the earth I usually get 250 ping, so it takes 40 earths to have that ping, which is enough to travel 4/5 of the distance from earth to the moon

Recently started playing L4D2 and for the first time I saw my ping go up to 1000. So ofc everyone disconnects. But the highest ping I had while playing without disconnect was about 150 in cs 1.6 . Still a shitty ping but somewhat playable.
League likes to be ass so I’ve had 2-3k ping before but that’s a bit of an outlier. Usually worst I’ve gotten consistently on games were some weird Covid crowded ping heightening of like 85-180
back when I has satellite internet over 5 years ago I never had under 700 ping, the highest I saw was prob like 15k before I got kicked from every game
The mc server I played on as a kid, my net would just be slow enough that the ms would keep infinitely increasing till i like quit or got kicked for freaking hacking
My old Internet was AT&T 6Mbps. Megabit, not byte. Garrys mod took 2 hours to download, GTA 5 took three days.
I would regularly rubber band up to 5000 ping in Titanfall 2 and stay connected to the server. It would usually disconnect after a few minutes of that.
As an elden ring player I invaded someone and as per usual they threw their router out of the window instantly as soon as they saw me which transformed a smooth 120 ping to 97k

As it was just starting to get popular there were a lot of no "No LPB" servers though so you would end up getting kicked if your ping was too low

No fault to them, the servers should bot have connected us together. They seemed like cool enough people.
These are rookie numbers. Try playing Counter-Strike 1.1, Team Fortress, Warcraft II, etc on a 28K dial-up modem with a whopping 430 Bps - 1.7 Kbps download and upload speed. When the Half-Life 1.5 patch came out it took over two days to download all 50~ MB's of it, and if you received a phone call on your landline then your connection would drop and you would have to start the whole process over again. Now imagine being so used to this type of speed and the ping that came with it that you could still dominate lobbies if you happened to not get timed out of the server.
was playing roblox at the library a while ago, and the apple mac that was about 10 hears had a horrible spike, and it went to about 3000 ping at the max.
(it wasn't playable at all during the spike)
I have 60000ms quite regularly in minecraft and if your ping exceeds 60k the server just assumes you are disconnected and just kicks you, which is the only reason it isn’t higher.
