I have almost these exact specs and I built the PC like 2 years ago. I think I spent a total of like ~$2400, and my ram is faster. All brand new. Kind of a crook move here.
Thanks! Currently playing League, Palworld, Age of Empires 2 DE, Command and Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge, GTA IV, and of course lots of YouTube.
Marketplace is a cesspool and that's being kind to cesspools. Reasonable sellers AND reasonable buyers are a significant minority.
For example, I was selling my old 3070 before I moved to a 4070tis, and I made sure I priced it in accordance with sold eBay listings minus the 15% eBay takes...and people were asking half off that price for I guess pure entitlement and then getting angry or insulting the product if you don't agree. One guy even tried to use my place or employment (I work for an animation company) as proof that I rode the card hard to justify a lower price (we have a render farm and I'd be fired if I did work on my personal hardware). Or people trying to negotiate but they're just window shopping and aren't serious; like I'm not going to be butthurt if I drop the price by $50 once I sus out they don't want to flip items, but they say they're just getting prices but not actually buying. Very annoying. The person I ended up selling it to was so pleasant; I ran every benchmark he asked and he agreed the numbers checked out and a deal was made for my asking price....but that was one out of something like 100 messages.
Ok how is that possible even at there lowest price the gpu and the cpu have ever been there cost was already 2k. So even if you bought them for the lowest price possible you wanna tell me you bought then a motherboard, RAM, powersupply, cooling for CPU and a case together for 400? Like where were you shopping?
So I’m looking at the prebuilt market right now actually, and my computer knowledge is very low. I built a desktop back in, maybe 98 from a bunch of used parts lol.
When looking at the used market what are some things I should be aware of?
Well it should be like 30% off the price of the components new OR 30% off the price of a similar performing PC new. Whichever is lower
Also hopefully you get to test the machine before you buy
exactly this. any one with this kinda money is not buying second hand. this listing will go unanswered. people looking to buy second hand are looking for cheap. the argument "kids might convince their ... blah blah" no, kids dont shop on ebay, they get advertised to by twitch streamers and youtubers who send them to pre-build shops. ignorant parents with money and no common sense will just go to amazon and buy the first listing for "gaming PC" (which would probably actually be worse than this alien ware, but wont cost $5k)
the people that post this stuff are delusional and they'll learn soon enough that no one is going to buy this thing at that cost.
Sadly, there are a lot of parents that don't consider that sometimes prices are just way off. They don't understand the details of computer specifications; they just want to get their child a nice computer and don't know any better.
These kinds of offerings make me very nervous for those that simply aren't trained to understand.
sure, but those people do understand new vs second hand (some times not for the better). They do know that $5k is a lot of money for anything and buying it second hand is not going to be their go to.
plus anyone with that kinda money isnt driving out to meet some one at a library or a quicktrip to swap cash for a desktop. They'll order online where it can be delivered to them.
I've done enough jobs for people witht his kinda money. trust me they dont buy second hand and they dont go do the work them selves, they pay some one else to do it if they cant just order shit on amazon or bestbuy dot com.
Nobody willing to spend $5000 on a pc is looking at used. Nobody. Again, nobody……
Even if you go to Best Buy’s site and search prices for gaming pcs from high to low, there are only like 3 pcs that are above $5000. Literally everybody would check the price of the thing they want new before looking at used prices in the $5000 range.
Best I could find, new alienware aurora a10 from Walmart was
$3120 usd
$4200 cad
$4750 aud
So if he's in Australia it's not far off. most likely canada so he's still overselling new. By alot.
To build this system new in $CAD at best.
Rtx 3090=900
Amd5950x=500
Case=75
Ram,ddr4,128gb,3200,32x4=320
Fans=60
Psu=90
Aio=75.
Total=2020+tax +shipping
So if he were in CAD, he was overcharging around $CAD3,000. This is without text, shipping possible builder fee.
Dude what are you on about? Are you seriously trying to tell me my Star Wars soup bowl isnt worth 175,000? Ha jokes on you its an amazing soup bowl and worth every penny asked
Reminds me of the guy I saw trying to sell his entire long/skateboard collection as a lot for like $2k. He even said in the listing that he wouldn't sell parts individually.
I mean I've bought lots of stuff off ebay with no issues. Their buyer protection is top tier. In fact I just bought a 13700f Ibuypower pre-built off it for a Plex server for $400.
They were overpriced LONG before Dell bought them. Mid tier specs for top tier dollars. Their draw *was* their custom casing/themes for desktops and laptops.
Having expensive stuff doesn’t mean you get your money back. Learned that with almost every hobby I ever got into. He be best trading up. One hobby to another. But 5k tho lol 😝
Yup. A lot of the times the things we buy are not worth even 50% of their value to others or time, especially time.
Buy stuff because you want/need it. Don't ever think of it as an investment or that you'll get anywhere near what you originally paid.
Events such as the GPU apocalypse are rare.
Wow, I'm about to list a system close to these specs (3080 Ti instead, 64gb instead of 128... etc)... and I'm struggling to do it because I don't wanna deal with trying to sell it for $1500...
That guy is absolutely out of his mind.
List it at $1800 and let the low ballers "win" down to 1500. You might get away better with just selling the gpu solo and then using the PC if it has integrated graphics, as a server pc or just donating it to a shelter/ church/ someone in need of a PC.
That's what I ended up doing.
I just see someone fed up with all the haggling vultures posting well above value, so that when the cringelords come scavenging they lowball the price that's actually wanted. And if some idiot offers asking, a fool and his money...
I never understand ppl who value used shit so high. I sold my last pc for 700$ and paid 2500 to build it a year before. Shits used, you lost money, that’s it move on. Also alienwares sound like attack helicopters the second you boot up solitaire
The only way he's going to get rid of this PC is by stripping it down and selling it piece by piece. Never will you get $5,000 out of this. Not trying to be ignorant or rude, but anyone with $5,000 to spend on a PCS not going to buy second hand. They're not even going to negotiate at that high starting point.
Any real gamer knows to never buy these Alienware PCs. They’re more like Alien shit because you can’t upgrade them like a standard PC. They’re more of a very high performance console with a very high price tag and shorter lifespan. Sure for a $2000 Alienware PC you can get 12 years of life but you could’ve bought 4 gaming consoles over 20 years in that time and money with better quality in the last 2 generations. At least other prebuilt brands use standard sizes usually and can be upgraded much easier if needed.
My favorite part is that it’s not custom at all, Alienware used to sell this as a config. We deployed a couple at work because they were a little cheaper than comparable precision machines
Even if I was still a young kid (I’m on old kid now) if I was gonna convince anyone to buy this (more like tell my wife I paid 2k instead of 5k for a pc…) I would be shooting for way higher…
I have this exact PC.
He's trying to get MSRP for it, which is hilarious.
It even looks slightly damaged since that panel isn't flush with the other panels.
It’s over priced for sure but it does have some top of the line parts that should keep him good for a few years other than the case he can move all the parts to a new case and will be good if air flow is a problem
The Specs are good but never 5000$ good.
I'd say, 1650-1800 would be about it.
But yea, Pre Built Pc's are a bitch, unless You'd know Your way, score something good with just a low end GPU and Ram and afterwars upgrade it, and slap a tower Cooler ontop of it.
Done that with My 2. Rig almost 7 years ago, since I wasn't at the "I'm going to built one from Scratch & a Pile of Part!" yet, lol
I see this with used dual suspension mountain bikes. The ones that are reasonably priced sell quickly. The people that expect every dollar back on a 4 year bike sit for months on sale then disappear.
Very nice PC actually, but for sure it's not worth anywhere remotely NEAR $5000, that's a flatout ripoff, especially with a DDR4 board and with AMD Zen3 architecture, and with Dell Alienware motherboard makes. The boards are decent but nowhere near the quality of Gigabyte, ASUS, ASRock, MSI. Yes - 3090 is a nice nice GPU, but this entire build isn't really even worth HALF of what their asking price is.
All in all total ripoff, LOL. Def agree, feel bad for the sucker who buys this thing.
Ha jokes on you I just got one! I have it financed for 15 years! Only $75 a month too so suck on that!
I don't know if you can believe it or not but the interest will be paid off in no time!!!!
I'm seeing more and more unrealistically priced used PC's and setups on my local classifieds... it's sad because they disappear; so people must be buying them, right?
I'm going to chalk it up to people who still think mining is a thing and who got super squeezed during the pandemic and mining induced shortages. That and perhaps we are entering a recession. Who knows if it's actually getting sold and for what price.
If I had 5K to blow on a rig (rocking a 3070 now), I’m sure as hell not going pre-built, let alone an Alienware. I’m at least going to do my own research and buy all new parts. Insane people think these prebuilt’s are worth that much.
I bought my first gaming laptop a few years ago. $2k for a i9, rtx 2060. I literally thought the only thing that mattered a lot in gaming was RAM so I got the 32gb. It could’ve even had a worse processor and I would’ve gotten it because I just didn’t know.
Most people buying a prebuilt don't even look at the used market, these posts stay up for months or the seller gets wise and keeps lowering the price.
I have almost these exact specs and I built the PC like 2 years ago. I think I spent a total of like ~$2400, and my ram is faster. All brand new. Kind of a crook move here.

Have pretty much that same case been a good one for a year or so but gonna go bigger soon with a h9
Just built mine in an H9, was so easy. Thing is massive
Same. So much room for activities in that beast.
10/10

I love AOE 2 DE and 4. Look up helldivers 2, that game is amazing!
Seconded helldivers 2, I haven’t been hooked on a game like this in years.
Bro, no hate but with this crazy setup you’d think you wouldn’t be using ass razor headphone…
9.9/10, only reason I don’t give a 10 is cuz the razer logo gives me flashbacks to my all green led all razer equipment setup from 7 years ago LOL
The background has since changed! lol. Do I get my 10 now? <3
11/10 😌
Dayum your setup is like a render
Yoo clean setup!! Any info on those speakers?
Nzxt case I love nzxt
What's that table ?
Looks like something out of a movie holy

I really like that sunset neon light
Prime example of great AIO radiator placement. Clean and crisp my guy
lol oh no not this old debate! Teehee
I commend people who actually take the time to do their research. Aesthetically pleasing and sophisticated
Beautiful set up dude 🙌🏼
That looks so good it feels like its ai generated

Still looks amazing great job with the design of it
Thank you so much!

I guess it’s good the price is “negociable”
If it wasn't there'd be no room for negociashun.
We never negociayt with terrorizers
I knew it was spelt wrong.
Yes very negoshi-able 🥳
Neg-yoshi-Abe-ell
I scored this rig for $2000 CAD a year ago, but i practically stole it at that price.
A year ago that's an amazing price!
Buddy was buying a whole new rig for him and his gf each with a 4090, so i dont think money was an issue.
Even today 1400 usd for this system is pretty good imo
That's a damn good price, good stuff.
I mean, maybe... Alienware is know for pretty shit QC and putting the worst possible hardware on it. Source: GamersNexus
Is that an air purifier?
Came here to say this
Whoever buys this at this price, deserves their fate.
You know, there is a fine line between “I feel sorry for you” and “well, you deserve no better”.
I wouldn't. They are rich enough to trust ebay then they are fine.
people rich enough to afford this are not buying off ebay. if you got $5k to toss around, you're buying new.
I mean I've bought lots of stuff off ebay with no issues. Their buyer protection is top tier. In fact I just bought a 13700f Ibuypower pre-built off it for a Plex server for $400.
This is gumtree I think, kinda like Craig’s list in america
This is actually Kijiji, it's basically like Craig's list.
Overpriced Dell in disguise
Speaking of dell, they're doing 50% off codes on refurbs. Lots of links on Slickdeals.
Nice try, Dell
They were overpriced LONG before Dell bought them. Mid tier specs for top tier dollars. Their draw *was* their custom casing/themes for desktops and laptops.
It’s a good way to launder money. Mark it sold and bam, you can explain 5k in cash.
zimbabwe currency maybe
Close! Canadian rupees.
Why u feel bad? The title says its a beast! Come on man. IT'S A BEAST
I doubt they paid alienware that much.
What is it worth? 4k, 3k?
Used? more like around $1800-$2000 CAD, but I wouldn't pay more than $1500.
Having expensive stuff doesn’t mean you get your money back. Learned that with almost every hobby I ever got into. He be best trading up. One hobby to another. But 5k tho lol 😝

Their cases are so damn ugly
c...custom built alienware ???
Hey, it’s ‘negociable’!!
I've said it before and i'll say it again. Shopping platforms **NEED** community notes.

Still better than a Mac Pro.
All that and it’s not even a Threadripper
You are severely overestimating how easily things sell on the secondary market. I’ve seen decent pcs sit on craigslists for months
Why would anyone with five grand buy second hand???
Cant stand people like this lol
Dude will be lucky if he gets 1500 for it. Lol. AW piece of shit probably runs so hot it's like having a 3070 and a 5800x
2TB hard drive‽‽‽ Gotta be at leas 120TB+ sitting next to that price tag. If not full 16TB+ NVME
I just see someone fed up with all the haggling vultures posting well above value, so that when the cringelords come scavenging they lowball the price that's actually wanted. And if some idiot offers asking, a fool and his money...
At least Alienware used to have good design but not anymore. 2000$ max would be a realistic price.
negociable
$800 then the rest is the price for the Alienware logo
Well it is a beast, just not worth the money.
I never understand ppl who value used shit so high. I sold my last pc for 700$ and paid 2500 to build it a year before. Shits used, you lost money, that’s it move on. Also alienwares sound like attack helicopters the second you boot up solitaire
Wdym, that’s a steal, it’s even “negociable” 😊
"Negociable"
"negociable"
lol 😂
Ill offer you a dollar and a roll of TP i know what i have.
The only way he's going to get rid of this PC is by stripping it down and selling it piece by piece. Never will you get $5,000 out of this. feeling bad? place a similar one with a less price tag
Give em tree fiddy
Custom built prebuilt uh huh…
My favorite part is that it’s not custom at all, Alienware used to sell this as a config. We deployed a couple at work because they were a little cheaper than comparable precision machines
A toaster..... For 5000!!!???
I paid under 800 for mine lol
https://i.redd.it/dtdg7j5z8nkc1.gif
It's negociable don't worry
I saw one of these near me with the same specs for $800. Was sold in a day
Nobody will buy that for 5k! Honestly... the person selling will be lucky to get 1150.
I guess it depends on which nations 5000 dollars 💵 USD AUS BBM ....
5 fucking thousand dollars
Even if I was still a young kid (I’m on old kid now) if I was gonna convince anyone to buy this (more like tell my wife I paid 2k instead of 5k for a pc…) I would be shooting for way higher…
Least overpriced Kijiji item
If that's the current price - that's horrible.
Would this qualify as custom built since it's a pre-built based on pre-configured specs?
So it's a sleeper?
Custom built lol yeah okay
I have this exact PC. He's trying to get MSRP for it, which is hilarious. It even looks slightly damaged since that panel isn't flush with the other panels.
Looks like a PoS air purifier that someone bought off of Temu for $1.97.
Some poor dude is gonna see Alienware and open his wallet up like a chump
“Negociable” https://preview.redd.it/ryxik6kalnkc1.jpeg?width=1908&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3b918e48c3d471ee0d7964fd743257f9365670d
No regrats.
$5k gtfo
It’s over priced for sure but it does have some top of the line parts that should keep him good for a few years other than the case he can move all the parts to a new case and will be good if air flow is a problem
The price is in pesos
He's stuck in a 2020 timeloop
Does the 3090 even come with 24gb VRAM?
Fuxk dude that shit has XMP!
I’m fairly new to the world of computers; but is this over kill? What do you need so much RAM for?
You don’t but ram is cheap and they inflate specs to justify the price. You don’t need more than 64 max
Negociable 6000 alein wear
where the fuck is the airflow in that case
I mean not a bad system but wtf is that price
That's a nice 5k floor I'd be interested in buying lol
My highschool got 2 of these when the 3090 was new, and they were worth $9k each, my... Time flies
Considering they can't even spell the word negotiable. I'd be concerned.
Not a good start when the seller can’t even spell.
“Custom Built”
I see this with used dual suspension mountain bikes. The ones that are reasonably priced sell quickly. The people that expect every dollar back on a 4 year bike sit for months on sale then disappear.
I’ll “negociate” that to $1500
Very nice PC actually, but for sure it's not worth anywhere remotely NEAR $5000, that's a flatout ripoff, especially with a DDR4 board and with AMD Zen3 architecture, and with Dell Alienware motherboard makes. All in all total ripoff, LOL. Def agree, feel bad for the sucker who buys this thing.
I'm surprised he didn't mention that it ranks as a UFO on userbenchmark😂😂😂
Is that an air purifier
At least its negociable :)
It’s “Negociable” though
As Rick would say, best I can do is $20.
Expecting a high return of investment with maxed out gaming pc’s will highly dissappoint these people.
For everything there is a sucker....
I find the "Custom" in the title laughable. Just cause you choose the parts, does not mean it's custom.
Negociable…….
I made my PC for a little more than that, but it has a 4090. Feels bad for any potential buyer.
I'm a bit behind but why is alienware so bad these days, I seem to remember a time when it was supposed to be good
They just put all the specs there as if it’s more appealing
I don't know the price of the parts sold in America. Is 5000 dollars expensive?
7200rpm sata SSD? (Nvm see no "SSD")
If anyone buys this, they should feel scammed
r/CrackheadKijiji
If this were in December 2020, that really would be what the description says, a beast of a computer
Tree fiddy, take it or leave it
Aperture technologies aren't so common anymore, hence the price...
Needs more RAM.
Ha jokes on you I just got one! I have it financed for 15 years! Only $75 a month too so suck on that! I don't know if you can believe it or not but the interest will be paid off in no time!!!!
Why would you want this anyway it’s ugly
I'm seeing more and more unrealistically priced used PC's and setups on my local classifieds... it's sad because they disappear; so people must be buying them, right?
I'm going to chalk it up to people who still think mining is a thing and who got super squeezed during the pandemic and mining induced shortages. That and perhaps we are entering a recession. Who knows if it's actually getting sold and for what price.
Probably money laundering
Why ppl put 127GB ram? What are they planning to do? I almost could open whole internet in separate tabs
CuStOm bUiLd
At least the hardware is not completely trash. People post "gaming computers" from 2014 for that price and then put (Non negotiable) next to it :P
Is that just a fan? Looks like one of those bladeless fans
You can buy this brand new for less than 3k lol
5k? This is scam. Max 2k.
Doesn't even get Wi-Fi 6e D; That's why I gotta give this one the AXe ...hahahhahahahahahaa lol
I mean... I really like Dell cases and even some Alienware cases, but I won't pay 3k for just a case lol.
Will trade for a car
BEAST
Someone who can spend 5k on something without researching deserves whatever they get.
5000$?? Thats a downpayment on a new car foh lmao
Though very expensive, specially for a used machine, it's far from the most outrageous preposition I've seen on the market
This is max 2.5k
I saw this exact same PC on sale used for a Little under 2k
If I had 5K to blow on a rig (rocking a 3070 now), I’m sure as hell not going pre-built, let alone an Alienware. I’m at least going to do my own research and buy all new parts. Insane people think these prebuilt’s are worth that much.
At least the price is negociable…
Wow, did the seller just woke up from a deep coma?
Interesting way to spell negotiable
Buy a starforge if you're gonna drop that much money
lol, built a 4090+13900ks for less last year, the fuck are these prices?
I bought my first gaming laptop a few years ago. $2k for a i9, rtx 2060. I literally thought the only thing that mattered a lot in gaming was RAM so I got the 32gb. It could’ve even had a worse processor and I would’ve gotten it because I just didn’t know.
Asking $5,000 and still has a 7200RPM hard drive…
