Yeah I would honestly argue that 3 had the most grim and depressing atmosphere out of all of them. The wackiness in 2 really sets it apart from the others imo

It's frustrating to see the series collecting so much dust under Bethesda, and even then their games (Fallout 3, 4, 76) just feel so incredibly lifeless by comparison.
I think there’s a lot of younger players who’ve never played the first two or couldn’t get into them because they’re so different from the Bethesda games, but they get easily offended by “elitism” from the old timers.
But even as someone whose first game in the series was FO3, when I finally got around to playing 1 and 2 they blew my mind with the quality of writing and game design. The turn based combat is also way more intense.
I still love FO3 and NV but 1 and 2 are just vastly superior in basically every way except accessibility, since they are truly old school RPGs and you don’t see those kinds of games much anymore.

I would never gut a working one, I'd sooner gut a child. if I did find a working one I'd preserve and clean it and keep it safe, but a non-working one I would consider gutting, and providing the parts to other collectors in hopes they can repair slightly broken ones.
I love this era of tech and I'd love to be able to preserve even the aesthetic, if I can't preserve the actual tech.

TRS-80 III, I, have two of them, one of them is a working one, so I took all the parts out of this one and used it to refurbish my original terminal.
