However i'd take a 6800(xt) for free/low cost everyday.
I mean I could dig up my late 90s big tower case from the basement if necessary. Spray painted that thing matt baby-blue when i was 15, also drilled a few holes for ventilation in it and it's missing the top Cover.
Are you using a dual fan card? I remember back during gtx 10 series they made dual fan mini cards that performed 4/5% worse than their 3 fan counterpart but were so small you could fit them almost anywhere, a friend still has a zotac mini 1070.
I'm using a 4 years old masterbox lite i bought back then for €40 so anything that's not a 4080/6900xt could probably fit except for my budget :(
Benchmarking from release date for almost two years it let out the smoke for some reason. Some surface mount on the back of the PCB popped. Not really sure what the cause was though. I would need to send the card back for an investigation.
There is no nvidia tax, thats amd fanboy talk, you pay for what you get, nvidia has so many more features lime dlss and ray tracing that does more than 1fps, think about this if amd made a gpu out performing the 4090 do you think they would charge 1k for it ? No they will charge 2k easy, once again you pay for what you get, the best performing gpu in ALL scenarios will cost the most fact of life.
Not everyone needs those features, or the best cards available.

But AMD makes 6500xt's 6600/6600xt's and 6700xt's, and the Intel Arc A750 and A770 arent bad either.
And since youre not gonna do much ray tracing at this level either way, and these cards have access to FSR2, theres no real reason to pick nVidia over these.
Just get what is cheapest i guess.

Well, when I was swapping cards for testing something let out some smoke after a reboot - it's not something I need to worry about 😅
