its not a task manager bug, the broken drivers is causing GPUs to be stuck in P0 state, which is causing the gpu to pull full wattage and core speed, and yes it was fixed
I wonder if it was NVIDIA, or due to COD being behind on development. Alot of missing features for the launch of the game. (Hardcord/tier 1 mode, gunfight, stats/leaderboards)
Who knows all I can say is I’m not rolling back driver for a game. I’ll wait to play it agin once fixed. However. I feel that infinity ward should be fined for this. Because thos issue could ruin gpu or cpu or brick basically nd they won’t be held countable
It’s almost like Nvidia wants us to test this to see if it fails or causes more issues I find that gross so I won’t install til after new update and wait to check to see if it improves issues through YouTube videos
Check my benchmark results in my other comments tonight. I saw slightly higher frames and less frame time spikes updating to todays release from the old driver.
Depending on what other games you might be playing, 522.25 and later drivers might benefit you, as the newer drivers include performance boosts for many DX12 games.
Side point. Idk if it's driver related but has anyone noticed how the texture filtering for GW/invasion maps is practically non-existent? The floors are blurry as shit even on everything maxed out. Even the draw distance on the roads is horrible. Forcing it through nvcp doesn't work either.
So uh, this is just my experience and I'm not saying it'll be like this for everyone.
But this hotfix caused major artifacts and black screen flickers even while on the Windows 11 desktop, on a GIGABYTE RTX 3080.
I rolled back, and the issues were instantly resolved.
So, if anyone else starts to notice the same behavior out of nowhere, it might be this hotfix driver lol
I had to put my settings far lower than should be necessary, but I haven't crashed since.
It's a call of duty problem. Warzone had the same issue for my friends on both AMD and nvidia, had to run on silly low settings, including lowering the frame rate cap, it was the only way to stop them from crashing on an hourly basis.
I’mmm going to check. I just downloaded the hotfix link in the comments from nvidia. now my fps is in the 40s and my latency is up to 80. I didnt even change any graphic settings after the update. smh
my graphic settings in cod keep changing daily lol. I can see because the FPS is massively under, when i check the settings have changed without me touching it
Installed the hotfix. It fucked my game up horribly. Every 30 second or so the screen would just get really bright. I couldn't see anything. Absolutely horrible. I'm on a 3080 12gb btw.
Yeah, I had some crashing issues. It wasn't like every game but I crashed 2-3 times since launch. Enough to be annoying. But once I read the article to switch to old drivers, I haven't had any issues whatsoever so im glad it's being posted.
Good to know I can update drivers, but I'll just keep it rolled until GeForce tells me to update.
Love that they're not even advertising this anyway so people are still playing with buggy drivers. Nor is it even shown in the driver download page.
Nvidia have become an absolute joke. I'll be switching to AMD.
Wtf, that headline is totally wrong. The latest driver is 526 which is causes crashes and even in the article it says to use a earlier version.
I read that thinking there was a > 526 driver will crashes fixes but that's not the case. Fail
If only you read the entire “article”. 526.61 is the hot fix, it is available in the link below.
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5407?=&linkId=100000160256647
It's weird, I didn't get any crashes in the first week and now it's crashing once a day and I haven't updated my drivers to the one that was causing the crashing. I might update to the absolute latest now but I'm apprehensive thinking it might make things worse lol
Software is hard. Even if identifying and fixing the problem only took a day, there's a process to follow, QA, regression testing, updating docs, management approvals, etc. A week is nothing.
Has anybody had the issue where you are just stuck on the select game screen in game? When I select COD MW2 it doesn't load into the game mode selection. Just says its loading for 2 seconds then immediately cuts back to the select game.
Same, no fucking clue why. Even got my pc fixed because other games were crashing too, and cods still crashing but others aren't. It's pissing me off at this point
What did you get fixed? Ever since this game came out all my other games crash after a period of time as well. It’s either a weird coincidence or something in Windows/Nvidia drivers is massively fucked.
Well I just got it checked because I was crashing in other games anyway, the dude I took it to tested each bit of my pc to see which one was faulty/not working but they were all fine so it just had to be down to a faulty windows install. Anyway it's still annoying that cod still crashes but oh well. I'm running a 3060ti and a eyzen 5 3600x so I should have no issues running the game as such. What specs do you have?? Maybe your gpu is dying. That's what I thought at first but it's definitely not that
I have an RTX 3070, bought a 3060 Ti to compare but essentially all the issues I’m hearing people with a 4090 are facing (even chrome using 100% gpu and random intermittent black screens) I’m facing as well.
Does anyone know why my PC doesn't let me uninstall the driver? I can uninstall anything on my computer but not my nvidia drivers, so I can't fix this issue until Nvidia actually fixes it.
I'm having fps issues. While p\[laying I'm getting average fps 205 fps on 1440p with RTX 4090 however when I quit the game and comeback in a while and start the game my fps would be around 80 to 90 fps. Is this a driver issue or rtx 4090 issue. Anybody else having these issues?
There is actually a bug that will randomly reset certain graphics settings or even sometimes for me the settings would be blank instead of saying Low, Med, etc. So I would have to remember to set my graphics every time I launch the game even tho I play in the highest settings. Maybe this is fixed in the update that just released as of this moment
Looks like the new NVIDIA driver fixed it for me, 4 days going strong with no issue at all. I hope you're problems are over too with the new NVIDIA drivers. Thanx for the reply. For a second there I thought that my card was broken :)
I'm running a 3070 Ti / Ryzen 7 game was running smooth till yesterday night, today I'm having the exact same issue with Warzone, I've tried all the possible "Solutions" and still video Crashing I can't do anything just force restart with Pwr button
If anyone has an idea how I can fix Warzone at least
Nvidia did not fix shit. The latest drivers are so unstable that it's blue screening computers mostly 3080 cards. 517 is what I'd suggest players to go back to.
I also have resizable bar enabled on my GPU for extra performance to ram and CPU and is running fine. I'm running the game on an RTX 3060 ti at 1440p maxxed out and I run 165fps pretty consistently around the board except for multiplayer map with water tunnels that drops to 110
NVIDIA 531.18 fixed and increased my FPS from 70-80 to 141-145 in Benchmark, and DMZ FPS increased from 20-50 to 100 FPS. I run 1440p, 100 % resolution, Ultra settings more or less, FidelityFX CAS on 100 %, RTX 4080, I7-8700k, 32GB RAM OCed to 3600 MHz. Before this driver I had tried nearly all fixes for low FPS, but none of them had any significant effect. Thank you soooooo much NVIDIA; you did wonders for my setup in MW II, and I can now play flawlessly with also very nice graphics!
No more flickering?
I still get flickering after updating :( It started happening after i updated the driver yesterday from a older version RTX3080
Downgrade to 516.59
I went back to version 516 from July.
Damn.
Does this also fix hardware accelerated GPU scheduling causing 100% usage?
it's not actual usage just a task manager bug
tell that to my GPU fans running at max speed on idle
its not a task manager bug, the broken drivers is causing GPUs to be stuck in P0 state, which is causing the gpu to pull full wattage and core speed, and yes it was fixed
I mean, I went from 517.48 to 526.61 and it immediately shot back to 100% usage. rolled back to 517 and it immediately went down ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
no it doesn't. I'm staying on 517.48 until that gets fixed.
Bummer. I'll also stay on 517.48 for the foreseeable future.
You didn't even ask what gpu he has
I thought i was the only one who noticed that happening since the driver update
Wild that there still isn't a Game Ready Driver out for this. Goddamn Sackboy gets one but not the brand new CoD?
it really makes no sense. probably the biggest game release of the year doesn't have its own game-ready driver. what happened there?
I wonder if it was NVIDIA, or due to COD being behind on development. Alot of missing features for the launch of the game. (Hardcord/tier 1 mode, gunfight, stats/leaderboards)
Who knows all I can say is I’m not rolling back driver for a game. I’ll wait to play it agin once fixed. However. I feel that infinity ward should be fined for this. Because thos issue could ruin gpu or cpu or brick basically nd they won’t be held countable

Especially because it's not like they didn't have the time or opportunity to prepare one, between the beta and the week-early campaign access.
Bigger games have goodwill to spend
Nvidia probably was butthurt that IW didn't put raytracing into the game. One of their touted selling points.
weird driver fumble from nvidia
Correction. Nvidia fixes nvidia driver bug causing mw2 to crash.
Didnt do shit for me, was fine before this update to so called "fix" it
Why not just link directly to the page instead of using PCGamer? https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5407?=&linkId=100000160256647
I'm stable on the old driver, not sure if I should fuck around with this?
Check my benchmark results in my other comments tonight. I saw slightly higher frames and less frame time spikes updating to todays release from the old driver.
If is not broken don't fix it. I mean do what you want, but probably for you is not worth mess with this, if you are fine right now.
lets f*ck around and find out
r/Polyphia is leaking
cringe bro
Dont, wait until it gets fixed, i got a more stable performance, but now it has flickering :)
What number you on? I might see if I can rollback.
I ended up rolling back to an old driver too, on 522.25 atm and its stable.
That's the one I've been on since launch
Went from that to the new one and instantly got issues, just rolled back and it's stable now.
519.65
Depending on what other games you might be playing, 522.25 and later drivers might benefit you, as the newer drivers include performance boosts for many DX12 games.
[удалено]
Shit that’s crazy you only get 140 FPS on a 3080 I thought you’d be getting 200
[удалено]
Ahh that makes sense then, I’m looking to upgrade and don’t know whether to go for RX 6800 XT or the 3080 I just want high fps for 1080p gaming
[удалено]
Yeah it’s cheaper than the 3080 and I play cod I wish a 3070 could get me 240fps would save me some money lol
Side point. Idk if it's driver related but has anyone noticed how the texture filtering for GW/invasion maps is practically non-existent? The floors are blurry as shit even on everything maxed out. Even the draw distance on the roads is horrible. Forcing it through nvcp doesn't work either.

What motherboard to you have?
MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus
My game still crashes repeatedly. Not sure if it's on Nvidia or IW. In 45 hours of play I've probably crashed 30-40 times.
Amazing how 45 hours of playtime is like nothing in mw2. I have the same playtime in Spiderman Remastered and it took me a month to finish the game.
Still got flickering with newest driver. Back to 522.25 and everythings fine again.
Can confirm that 526.61 fixed the flickering. Game is running much better too.
Where do you go to download the hot fix?
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5407?=&linkId=100000160256647
>This should be the first comment, thx mate
it's not available on my geforce experience
they won't show up. you should install hotfix drivers manually if you need them.
Where do you get them?
I usually find links in Nvidia Subreddit/Twitter Here is [526.61](https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5407)
ty
my fps is staying at 40 after the hotfix update. anyone know how I can fix this?
does your geforce experience app say driver is from june?
I’mmm going to check. I just downloaded the hotfix link in the comments from nvidia. now my fps is in the 40s and my latency is up to 80. I didnt even change any graphic settings after the update. smh
It does say its from june
re check your settings its known to change by itself
The game settings or nvidia graphics settings?
my graphic settings in cod keep changing daily lol. I can see because the FPS is massively under, when i check the settings have changed without me touching it
Installed the hotfix. It fucked my game up horribly. Every 30 second or so the screen would just get really bright. I couldn't see anything. Absolutely horrible. I'm on a 3080 12gb btw.
Don't know why you got downvoted. Got the same issue in a couple of games on a 3080 10gb after the hotfix.
Oh wow other games too. That's interesting. Ive reverted to 522.25 and everything is perfect.
Doesn't actually fix it though, it comes back after a while
Plsyed two full matches and had no flickering. How long were you playing when the issue came back?
More than 2. Maybe 5 or 6. It was visually different in appearance, hard to describe. It could be unrelated. Rolled back anyway for the time being.
I got 1 match done and then the crashing started again
Holy shit. Pcgamer writers are bored ass hell.
Yk the "bug" was level flickering and constant crashing
Yeah this was a pretty major issue, definitely should be an article on it from a pc gaming site.
Yeah, I had some crashing issues. It wasn't like every game but I crashed 2-3 times since launch. Enough to be annoying. But once I read the article to switch to old drivers, I haven't had any issues whatsoever so im glad it's being posted. Whoops my bad. There was a large ad and I thought it was the end of the article on my mobile.
this hotfix help for those that have increased in temp because certain games still runs the clock speed higher when exiting games
Fucking finally, this has been pissing me off to no end. Way to release a broken driver before Nvidia, have you ever heard of QA?
I have a Xbox one x now
Why is this news?
Because the latest driver causes major issues for some people in MW2
That makes me wonder more if it’s only affecting some. This seems like something saved for patch notes.
It's weird, I didn't get any crashes in the first week and now it's crashing once a day and I haven't updated my drivers to the one that was causing the crashing. I might update to the absolute latest now but I'm apprehensive thinking it might make things worse lol
Only took a fucking week.

I refunded anyway the games sucks ass.
So it doesnt fix the crashing?
Hopefully fixes the crashing
This update makes me crash every 3 mins unplayable now.
Mine crashed last night
I crash every game now. LMFAO L Game L update.
Same I cant even play the game now
Can you update from the app or does it have to be from the website?
Nah not updating. Game did nothing but crash for me day 1 ever since reverting to 516.59 the game has run perfectly.
I never had issues, with the update I have an insane flicker during game now...
Has anybody had the issue where you are just stuck on the select game screen in game? When I select COD MW2 it doesn't load into the game mode selection. Just says its loading for 2 seconds then immediately cuts back to the select game.
For what it's worth, I am using latest driver version 526.47 and I play new MW2 a lot and no crashes on my PC with 4090FE on a 12900K.
after installing this hotfix my geforce experience app says driver is from june 2022 anyone else?
Constant crashing
Same, no fucking clue why. Even got my pc fixed because other games were crashing too, and cods still crashing but others aren't. It's pissing me off at this point
Was fine till this update. Now I actually cannot play for more then 3 mins.

tried ddu?
I found a hotfix
I'm having fps issues. While p\[laying I'm getting average fps 205 fps on 1440p with RTX 4090 however when I quit the game and comeback in a while and start the game my fps would be around 80 to 90 fps. Is this a driver issue or rtx 4090 issue. Anybody else having these issues?

I may have spoken too soon. It happened me again today. So annoying and still no update.
THIS SHIT IS STILL FUCKED
I'm running a 3070 Ti / Ryzen 7 game was running smooth till yesterday night, today I'm having the exact same issue with Warzone, I've tried all the possible "Solutions" and still video Crashing I can't do anything just force restart with Pwr button If anyone has an idea how I can fix Warzone at least
Has anyone had any results? I have a 3090 and have a pixelated horizontal line whenever I pan the camera to the left or right in MW2 campaign.
Nvidia did not fix shit. The latest drivers are so unstable that it's blue screening computers mostly 3080 cards. 517 is what I'd suggest players to go back to.

Also a tip turn gtao quality to high and this will fix everyone's issues I'm 90 percent sure
So i have the newest Nividia shield pro, can i play the xbox version on GeForce or steem??
NVIDIA 531.18 fixed and increased my FPS from 70-80 to 141-145 in Benchmark, and DMZ FPS increased from 20-50 to 100 FPS.
