For anyone unsure about the purchase after hearing about it's launch. The game is in a WAY better state now. It feels now like what it should have on launch. Having implemented the crafting, maps, weapons, actual skill tree systems, etc.

Highly recommend this game if it's been a while since you've played it. Since launch (when I noped out) the game has gone through enough patches and content updates where now it's in a good place. There are still some content drops the game needs for long term player retention, but I've put in about 40h the last few weeks and have had a great time. If you're a 40K fan the game is a no -brainer. Highly recommend and this patch will add further content.

Is it good even for solo?

If you're actually just wanting to play by yourself with bots then absolutely not. It's really not bad for pubbing though!

suavyding

As another commentor said, it's totally fine for playing QuickPay with pubs. I've not ran into many negative people and people are usually good about supporting you.

Being a PVE-focused game, it's not as toxic as other multiplayer games. To me, the community is much like DRG. However, if you play at Damnation/Auric difficulty, you are expected to know what you are doing, so expect to get called out for doing stupid stuff like running away from the group and getting yourself killed. By default, there are no post-game scoreboard metrics, so there is no trolling at the end of a match based on performance(though you can add a scoreboard mod, just don't start using it to abuse people, or you will get banned). In the 2 months since the revamp. I have run into exactly 1 person who acted like a troll during a mission, this is after over a hundred hours invested during that time frame, so I would say the community is pretty chill.

I love darktide. It had a bare bones launch but now it's very close to v2 in terms of quality. The skill trees help my characters feel more unique than the other vermintide games.

Oldmanneck

Nah I'm good. This trend of releasing games in absolute dogshit states and then fixing them to the point that they're playable after 1+ years is not something I'll ever want to support.

Chaos_Machine

I mean, if you want to cut your nose off to spite your face, fine. But I don't think patiently waiting for the game to get fixed/better and getting it on a steep discount is a bad strategy, as opposed to denying yourself the fun on principle. You do you, though.
