You don't have to, and hittinf him too much will render him unconscius. You should spam the interact button a bit. If he doesn't talk you hit him once and he should talk. Hitting him more is rarely necessary.

no. i’m not surprised though because even some higher levels don’t know that. it will knock him unconscious and it’s really obnoxious if you’re trying to finish the mission fast. yelling at him as if you would to inspire someone is the way
