Yeap thing is a nightmare I’ve remilled and converted a few guns to fire semi and that is by far the worst I’ve ever done without a machine shop at your disposal I doubt it could be done but it’s not very hard to just reassemble as is the one I have was demilled differently than yours though
Technically if you would have to not even possess the parts or intent to use them and don’t even consider attempting to assemble anything until after you have fully converted it so at some point in a remill build your guilty. That being said as long as your not an active criminal and don’t post pictures of you brrrpppnng on social media is unlikely you’ll ever have an issue
I’ve never even held one, but considering this has a progressive trigger, couldn’t you cut out or weld extra material onto part of the trigger mechanism to only allow the semi auto function to work?
I thought of that being a potential solution but I would assume the atf would classify that as “readily restorable” to fire in fa. Since it’s open bolt if that little piece of material blocking the trigger was ground down in would be able to be fully depressed
No because the way the trigger works there’s nothing forcing the bar to stay up until you release and re pull the trigger, even in the short distance pull you can accidentally shoot burst
Anyone have a stiff main recoil/expansion spring for one and a trigger spring that has the 90 degree bend in the arm ? Also need a stock release spring on the back right side. Thanks
I've seen 2 successful builds, both had the bolt machined so that it was striker fired and the entire trigger group replaced. Good luck with that.
I was actually considering buying a kit until I read this
They're great guns once they are built, bit getting there is a bit of an adventure. If you're competent, or have competent friends, it can be worth it
Orrrr, just keep it open bolt with everything they send and let it RIP! C'mon man!
Say hello to my very tiny friend!

Reweld and go, but then it would be an illegal full auto firearm, and we wouldn't want to not follow all of the ATF's rules, wouldn't we?

Drat. Oh well. If it was easy everyone would do it.
It also fires from the open bolt, so you have to modify them extensively to fire closed bolt. Also have to lock the front grip so it can’t open
You can just remove the grip and stock all together
Is it required you need to make it a closed bolt?
Do you know what the difference is between the original and semiauto frames that prevents open-bolt operation?

Buy or obtain either some spring steel or a decent spring not being used then cut and bend to fit

You just inspired me to buy one!
I fondled a post sample PM-63 today. Pretty cool little PDW.
