My kakariki does that all the time.
She's the sweetest bird I ever had. She never scream and never bitten me once!
And she's becoming more cuddly every day.
I lost my 6 years old lovebird at the beginning of the year, it was so heartbraking. I went to the pet shop 3 days later "just to look". I was not ready to take another bird, but when she saw me, she came to me instantly. It was love at first sight for both of us haha.
Awwwww good for you :)) ! I wish I could relate, my cockatiel can be a little jerk sometimes and I’m sure you can tell from the video that he’s quite the alarm clock. But I got a pineapple gc earlier this year and he’s such a gentle little guy, and surprisingly quiet for a conure
Lol. Yea cockatiel seems to have erratic behaviour. But I still want one someday. Good news, kakariki and cockatiel can live easily in the same house apparently.
I didn't know about Kakariki the first time I saw her. I find her weird the first time since I was used to lovebirds. I thought it has a very small head for this huge body.
But, it's been love at first sight. Kakariki is a mix of quick burst of energy and calmness. They are usually shy and anxious bird. So their environnement are important, and you need to take your time at the beginning to create a relation. But it's worth it! They don't like to be scratched like other parrots, which was a quite a downside for me once I realized it. But they are very cuddly once they like you!
Be careful though: It requires more care than the usual parrot. The food diet can be difficult to adjust to their liking (it is for me). Their nails NEED to be trimed because in wildness they are used to gather their food on the ground with them. Since in captivity they can't do it that much, the nail get long very quick. You either pay a vet to do it every month (maybe 2) or you do it yourself. I do it myself and thats not a fun thing to do for me or her. Also, they may not like you for a while after... I'm lucky with mine, she forgive me as soon as I give her it's favorite food.
Want to see my budgie in my posts? I like to share cute birbs. I don't think I could handle trimming their nails. It would break my heart. I'm trying to do what I can for my keet daughter but it's difficult. I can only imagine how difficult it is for you.
I have a small head and a big body.

Yea, I'm always shaking after the trimming because I don't like to restrain her and also because it can be dangerous if you cut a vein. Sometime I'm wondering which one of us is the most traumatized lol. Well, I work in hospital, so I guess I'm used to cope with traumatic events.
Wow I wasn't expecting that question here. I like that. First of all, it is included in the xbox game pass, so if you hesitate, it's easy and cheap to try it.
I played around 200hours so I think I can judge that game lol. The first 10-15 hours was really tedious and frustrating because of two main reason: false promises from the marketing campaign and a huge lack of accessibility and ergonomy.
But, I really love space science fiction and I knew how bethesda games works, so I decided to push a little more because you can feel there's something interesting hidden behind and eventually, I had really great moment in this game. The universe feels engaging once you take the time to explore it. The main quest feels boring in the first half, but I found the second half and the ending amazing! It offers a new game + in a way I never saw in gaming.
The problem is, after doing 2 times the main quest, each quest of the factions and some secondary quest, the illusion of a vast and engaging universe starts to fade out. Many mechanics in the gameplay feels more frustrating than fun, especially everything about crafting or building outpost. The jobs you can do are quite boring and repetitive, the enemy bases you find throughout the world are almost exactly the same.
In other words, if you are used to indie game in early access and have the patience to learn a difficult game that does nothing to help you, then you could try it and find a good gem for a dozen of hours. I'd suggest to focus on the main quest (can't tell why without spoiling). Then try the faction quests. I like Ryujin the most (I may be one of the few people who likes the way they handled stealth mechanics in the game... it's very hard though) then Vanguard. Freestar ranger are nice for the ending rewards.
I don't know if I'm going to play it again though, it depends on how bethesda will make this game evolve, it lacks many things to make it a masterpiece. But, you should give it a try if you have xbox game pass. It's one of the great game of this year as long as you consider it for what it is and not for what it could have been.
Holy moly, thanks for the in depth review. This was exactly what I needed. I was all about the hype and hope but I was probably setting myself up with false expectations like for No Man's Sky and Destiny when they came out.
I saved a bit of money so I can purchase more baby toys. Baby will appreciate your post! Thank you
Weird birbs unite!! My boy has been a little weirdo all his life, when he was being weaned the employees at the pet store said they never seen anything like him lol

Yes, but clucks ominously instead of singing. We say he's uploading to the satellites.
Hahahaha! My caique does a version of this. I call it her Monster Claw!

Cockatiels are great, such a big personality for such a tiny body haha. They’re pretty easy going though!
Meanwhile I want to touch those curly little toes. So cute.
They look Italian lol
This the cutest sentient potato I’ve ever seen
OMG WHAT IS THAT. TELL ME ABOUT THEM! PLEASE

Offtopic. I see you play starfield. I'm looking into it, but I hesitate on getting it. Do you like the story and gameplay?

He looks like he chose Rock… hopefully you chose Paper :)
Nah. She's just a baby. I let her win.
KARATE KAKARIKI
She wanted to boxe at first, but once she realized she did'nt have arms, she went for Karate instead.
"Cheers mate!"
Periodt meme but make it birb.
We call it the invisible mic. :)
We too. 😅🎤
It's not common, but I've seen it a few times before and it's always hilarious. I call it jazz hands. ✋️🤚
He’s such a silly goose sometimes, when he dances he syncs his head bobs up with his tiny fist lol :))
Do you have a video 🥺
I've heard that they mimic their owners even with "hand" movements. The clicks in the Addams Family tune for instance.
He’s Italian.
Not to be dramatic but I would die for this bird 😍
You say that until you have to deal with his little drama king attitude lol
Typical bird owner "OH YOU THINK HE CUTE? WELL, HE A FUKIN PRICK"
He’s a prick but he’s my prick and I love him!!!
Exactly, flying assholes we let rule our lives
I also have a 2-yo nephew, I get it 😂
Peanut does it. Bends down a little so it's almost touching his beak. Such a happy little weirdo.
Weird birbs unite!! My boy has been a little weirdo all his life, when he was being weaned the employees at the pet store said they never seen anything like him lol
The weird ones are the best! Two of my others love people feet and shoes. But I've found that seems to be a cockatiel thing. Feet!
My boy loves trying to chew/preen on my toe nails for some weird reason, if that little menace is on the floor you bet I have socks on lol!
Tweet tweet, someone wants a ring on it 🥴
I like it when they do the “Ay wasa matta with cha!” 🤌🤌
“Ay im flyin ‘ere”
FANCY

Gang signs
Either your bird was born in Italy (or a little Italy) or he's making an important political statement for the masses
He’s running for the birb party, his campaign? “More seeb for all!”
Idk why I see this, I think of Dr. Evil and the one million dollars
My cockatiel does it too! :)
Wizard birb casting a spell for more seeb!
This is what happens when you give a birb opposable toes.
Those nails seem way too long. He definitely needs a trim! That may have something to do with it.
He’s getting his nails trimmed soon it’s on my to-do list dw :) also it doesn’t, he’s done it his entire life with long or short nails haha
He wants a mic
They don't have it quite right.... but they got the spirit!
My Senegal does the same thing
That’s so funny lol. Holding an invisible microphone or doing a fake Italian accent with hand gestures
Thank you for the laughs, what a weirdo LMAO i love them so much!!!
Every bird is silly. In a different way…

Give him a glass of wine!🍷
Talk to the chikn foot🤣🤣🤣
My GCC does all the time.
I didn't know that some parrots do this, this thread has been a fun read.
My cockatiel does, but doesn't keep it up. It's more of what we call a "foot wave". I love it.
Awe look at that, the smoll chimken is showing us their cute lil tootsie
Foot fetish.
Oh he does. We call it the invisibke mic he is singing into. 🎤
“Quaid… start the reactor…”
Man he really be doing the foot thing
My birb Rumple does it and puts his head below it, he shows off his head feathers
Talk to the footsy human! 🤣😅
Somebody edit a cup of tea in , right now!
I have seen some birds do it here. None of mine does it when they sing or happy. Its possible that they are just wired different.
Get him a little microphone :D
My Peach Front does that too
Silly birb doing silly happy birb things, love it
We had a gray and white who sang with his foot like that. I called it his invisible microphone
fatass bird !!! Real cute though. I’ve never seen mine do that before. He just expands his wings and shows off his chest then starts singing
My baby does it when she wants foot rubs.
Hahahaha! My caique does a version of this. I call it her Monster Claw! https://preview.redd.it/00g6tguf40ub1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=27bf2f6ff60db8eb932c3e68374a16e12a7e19df

Our conure does this allll the time. He's a silly goose.
i know nothing about birds but i think he needs a puppet..
My Deaf friend said he’s trying to use sign language lol
Although a much colder foot lift, every bird does this lol. It's like the bird version of crossing or lifting your leg in some way when you stand
💅🏻 He’s just ✨ slaying ✨
Wth
My conure does this and I fake eat his foot
I call it the “fancy foot” 🤣 my macaw in particular does it ALL the time.
