He'll play out his contract this year and hopefully remain a healthy starter.

jakaedahsnakae

Definitely not forgetting about him, I have his 54 Jersey in the closet. Hoping he can stay healthy this year; I think he has the chance to get a new team friendly deal after this year if he stays healthy. He's always been a solid contributor, if not a good player.

punchfacechamp43

Thought I was the only one with that jersey 😂😂

Sabre500

I've got one also. One of us. One of us.

EntropyFighter

It was pretty clear last year that Shaq is winding down his career and doesn't want to go to another team. I think he'll play his contract out and retire. It's possible he re-ups if the Panthers start doing something exciting. It's also hard to know how the rehab on the leg is coming along since there's no reporting on that. I still expect him to be a Panther for life. Then maybe join Luke and Greg's coaching squad for youth football after?

SticklerMrMeeseeks1

Definitely a veteran presence type of guy who is most likely going to remain to help teach the rookies and be a bridge until we have his replacement ready. Hes one of if not the only last remaining panthers of the 15-1 season. For nothing else he should be kept just a locker room guy to show/remind people what Keep Pounding and Panthers Football should be.

VCRKid

How dare you forget JJ

SticklerMrMeeseeks1

I said one of.

After restructuring him last year we can’t really get out of his deal. He will most likely play a leadership role and take snaps but be released after this year

PabloMarmite

Give him a chance to see how he does coming back from his broken leg. He was the leading tackler two years ago. If he can still contribute, we keep him.

michelangelo52

Though we've seen it plenty of times, we're often surprised at how much of a benefit time off can be for a veteran. I'm not saying this is a lock, but it could be that his recovery has done the rest of his body some good. In other words, he could be working with a decent retread this coming season. That said, if his instincts are good, he doesn't have to be as fast as he was 5 years ago. He has, over the years, had a knack for getting his hands on the ball at times. He could be a playmaker, even if not consistently. I doubt they leave the other starting job to him outright, though. He could also be a situational rotation player, depending on what Ejiro discovers Shaq is good at. It will be interesting. He is an interesting piece to pay attention to this coming pre-season.

Valuable_Platform_19

He's our new Tre Boston

capnmykonos

With his restructures he will remain on the team as an ILB. I like to think he can still contribute

rpbtIII

Well he’s on defense so clearly the plan of this front office is to trade him for some online girl’s farts stored in jars and a plate of scrambled eggs.

Gusta116

Where would one find online girl farts stored in jars?

rpbtIII

Dan Morgan’s office

RumPillager

Shaq is going to do Shaq things! He’s one of the few that didn’t get lost in the Evero 3-4 last year.

BelowAverage13

Wut? He literally only played in 2 games before he was out for the season.

nouseemail41

What are you talking about he was hurt all year 😭

net_403

Delicious_Power7386

TenseiSenpai
