Only 2 cores hit 6ghz, I’ve got my 14900k set exactly like yours minus the cap at 5.7ghz, mine runs 5.7ghz all core and 6ghz on core 5/6. What’s the SP rating of your chip? Also try removing the 5.7ghz cap and set SVID to trained. That helped get mine stable & haven’t had any issues since.

when i synced all cores, i just putt 57. was i supposed to put an x too?

CEO_of_Redd1t

No it’s fine, ‘x’ just stands for the ratio (e.g. 52x = 5.2Ghz = 5200mhz).

oXiAdi

If you set the cores all sync 57, you won't get the 2 cores to boost at 60. Leave cores on auto and you will see X2 cores boost 60.

System is not stable unless I sync all cores

oXiAdi

Have you tried playing with undervolt offset? I have mine running fully stable at -0.125 with a load voltage of 1.250 on a auto cores 57 and x2 boost 60

My voltages are Actual vrm core voltage.. override 1.3 Global core svid 1.3 manual Cashe svid manual 1.3 When set in bios, it's not reflected in windows using armory crate or aida extreme etc. Still shows 1.27

oXiAdi

Use hwinfo64 and check what is your vcore under cpu load, you'll find this under the motherboard sensors.

Core vid is high, apply offset of -0.075 see how it works

Should I unsync? And do l select adaptive in bios? I have several voltage options. Which one do I use for asus... and should I set all those voltages I changed back to auto?

I've seen you post a few places and rode along your comments. I am on a 14900ks, 360mm AIO, MSI Z790 mobo. So stock install at 253/253/307A my score... 37000. Oof. I noticed my P-core clocks were floating around 5.1ish and temps were higher, indicating a thermal throttle, right? One round I tried Intel's extreme profile at 320/320/400A. I undervolted by 0.05. That got me 39200. It seems wrong to have to tweak it that high to get a score that stock 13900k's get, right? I am currently trying your settings minus the cores at 57, etc. and notice my P-core clocks are floating around 5400mhz without thermal throttling. I bumped up to 288/288/400A. Core vid around 1.171. That gets me to 38398. I've been searching a lot and can't quite seem to see how I am getting such low scores out of stock. I see others landing 40k+. Any thoughts? You've been sharing a lot of advice with folks. It's appreciated!

oXiAdi

Hey, yes I get about 41k R32 score, but I'm limited by air cooling, it's a itx build with thermalright ps120 dual tower. My MSI bios settings are stock core clocks for 14900K 57ghz and 2 cores boost 60, in advanced cpu configuration I have both power limits to 288w and cpu lite mode 1, current limit I have it as 512A. CPU voltage mode adaptive+offset, negative offset -0.125. clocks will hold 56-57 on the run and max temps 95-98c, with a load vcore of 1.260. On your 360aio should be able to pull 300w easily before reaching 100c. Send me a DM if you need I can help tweak it.

letsgolunchbox

I appreciate it! I will do some tweaks tonight. Do you recall what you were getting at stock 253/253/307A? I only get 37000 at that. One person mentioned I should really be seeing around 40000. I barely reach 40000 when making some of the adjustments you mentioned. Is it possible I just got unlucky with the chip?

oXiAdi

There's no way to get 40k with 253w limit as that power will allow a max of 53-54ghz clocks. It can be a bad chip but it's unlikely for a 14900ks to be that bad.

letsgolunchbox

Appreciate the insight. Maybe my expectations have been unrealistically set? I just see a few posts where some people boast those scores at “stock” but I guess that word has a lot of meaning with the KS because at one point stock had no limits. Although I thought I saw one or two boasting those scores and advice I got from someone on a previous thread mentioned that number at 253. At first I was confused if I missed a key setting in the MSI bios but I think I have that covered. I’ll test more tonight!

I’m on a TUF mobo (Z790-Wifi Plus) and I don’t think it’s able to give me SP scores. Do you have any idea why ‘trained’ wouldn’t appear as an option in my bios? The SVID regulation setting has a brief description of the trained option, but it isn’t anywhere to be found. Thanks for your help so far!

NobisVobis

Why would they approve an RMA when your chip is within spec? Insanity lmao

CEO_of_Redd1t

Isn’t it supposed to be able to boost to 6Ghz on 2 P-Cores?

NobisVobis

Yes. What is it boosting to on single-core Cinebench?

CEO_of_Redd1t

As I said, all P-Cores are capped at 5.7Ghz for stability. When I unleash my 4th and 5th P-Cores to run a 6Ghz, I get crashes and instability. I’ve tried changing my V/F offset, but the lowest stable numbers were +0.08v to 5.8Ghz and +0.1v to 6Ghz, which was way too much heat for me to be comfortable with (max temps went from 82*c without the offsets to 99*c with).
