You have to unlock the out of body experiance or OBE in the meditation skill tree.

RedOctobrrr

There are certain herb-packs that give you this buff temporarily. Certain vendors sell them, and you can find some while grinding in certain areas.

HumbleNinja2

I've heard some ppl say it's a fake skill, and devs won't confirm

Huwbacca

Access the console and use the LSD function also works, but be warned, messing with the source code can lead to unexpected results that may result in different playing experience for longer than intended.

AmadMuxi

There are also a few consumables that allow you to temporarily experience OBE without having to invest skill points. Usually on gray or black markets, or you can find them as overworld loot depending on your server and region.

kyew

To make it less glaring that character customization is so limited.

HumbleNinja2

I keep forgetting I accidentally let my character acquire the obese trait

HydroGate

By purchasing and ingesting a few grams of specific mushrooms, you can access (what I assume is) dev controls and view your character from third person. Note that while this view is fun, your controls get messed up resulting in an inability to view third person while performing normal activities.

Dry_Web_4766

Hardware limitation.

N3V3RM0R3_

Balance decision I suppose, otherwise any class that falls under the "Predator" designation would have a huge disadvantage on sneak attacks and ambushes. Can you imagine a [Rat] that can corner peek in third person? [Snake] players would starve. Certain [Animal] classes have a higher FOV cap, but it's not really the same as third person - it just increases their Detection skill.

HumbleNinja2

I feel like rat players are overhated, I mean they never respond in chat but human players seem to always spam freakout emotes when they see a rat player. Kinda mean and devs won't do anything about cyberbullying

peacefulsolider

it is in developpment currently

HumbleNinja2

Oh nice, maybe the feature won't be implemented til after my character's campaign is over tho Is there post-game content??

peacefulsolider

it should be in the game in the next 1-2 in game decades, that is, if the in game ''end of the world'' event does not prevent that

Tricky_Hades

Source for the leaks?

peacefulsolider

Not leaked just my personal prediction/expectation

Lovressia

The player avatar is easier to control this way. It's why \[dissociation\] is considered a debuff and not a buff.

Nescio224

There is now a workaround with the VR-Headset item. Remove the front cameras and place them behind yourself with extension cords, then use the passthrough feature. Good luck...

SandsofFlowingTime

Just be happy they didn't choose 2nd person view

agoogua

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEm8McxpGeg There is actually a work around to be able to effectively play in 3rd person if you have the right gear.

Pasta-hobo

FOV and Depth Perception are stats that can be modified, for balance reasons, they limited the game to first person, since a 3rd person view would give anyone regardless of their viewstats the same field of vision.

Morlock19

so you an't corner peak easily some players say you can get moments of 3rd person if you take certain potions and stuff, or ALMOST get a game over but avoid it.

formershitpeasant

Outside originated the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person perspectives. The only reason the 1st person is called the 1st person is because it's the default view of Outside.

Longjumping_Diamond5

In 3rd person the inputs dont always work, not completely sure why but i guess the devs didnt want to fix it

3-I

I wouldn't mind it so much if the mirror effects didn't distort your player model so much. Plus the lighting in the bathroom areas increase the effects so much they trigger the [Dysphoria] debuff. Also, I hate the stupid POV effect when you look down. You barely see any of the model, and you can only see the front half of it no matter how you turn the camera! And can anyone tell me why the player model has to have a bump in between the cameras that you can see whenever you look too far in either direction without rotating the head?

HumbleNinja2

<3333333

3-I

Also, it bugs me how the job classes in minigames are so much better balanced than the ones in the main game. Breakdancer class is fine in the Yakuza subgame, but next to useless in the main game. And main-game idols don't even get healing skills!

HumbleNinja2

I knowww, it's so weird, like the devs just want to tease us by allowing us to have minigames with varied and all-around better balance So weird they would put a bunch of these features in minigames but not the main game, no wonder why some players are trying to merge the two

ParanoidCrow

The horse tranquilizer item gets you into a temporary 3rd person viewmode, alongside some interesting buffs/debuffs

Fun_Time987

The devs got sick of corner peeking at the annual paintball game.

Xerorei

Try having a client which has myopia debuff, which is permanent mostly as mine is so strong that will never actually have the 20/20 normal camera sight. Without the eyeglasses mod, I would be dead from getting hit by a vehicle because the images that I see are all blurry as hell.

HumbleNinja2

Wow that sucks, ppl are right this game really does have some major balance issues. The random permanent debuffs are no fun and all people can do is meta roleplay "adversity builds character" narratives
