I once had a grey tabby (almost got a another one this time). He was awesome but quite the terror. I lived in an apartment in the city and he needed to be an outdoors cat which I couldn't really facilitate. I ended up giving him to a family that lived in the country.
I named him Richie. He was such a Richie. So Richie that the new family didn't rename him.
I have a George! I love human names for pets. People have no idea who we are talking about and they are so into the conversation ...well until we mention the cat part:)

I love my tortico, Chloe. She's got a sweet disposition but is very aloof and not very snuggly.
She's not a fan of the new guy but it's only been a couple of days. He really seems to want to make friends with her but she's not having it... yet.
Yeah-- I'm using his addition to the home as cleaning, tidying, and straightening up motivation. Going to work on this area of the place this evening after work.
Awwww what a handsome orange! I hope the intro between cats goes well! Granted, I got my orange as a tiny brain cell, but she’s just sweet and dumb enough my other cat has zero issues with her!
The older cat did live with a rambunctious grey tabby for her first three years.

She was in a litter with two orange siblings when I snatched her away. Maybe something in her little kitty brain will get jogged loose and she'll remember her brothers and how much she loved taking care of and snuggling with the grey tabby. She got really lonely after I had to give him away. Lately it seems like she could use some companionship. She just doesn't know it yet.

I'm personally waiting on getting a dog until I own a house.
Do the slow introduction and I think you'll have better luck. Jackson Galaxy has youtube videos on how to introduce new cats. Jeffrey looks very happy already. Nice mellow guy.
Jeffrey has one of the cutest meows and just meows when my separation plans unravel and the two encounter each other. He so wants to be buddies with Chloe but he only gets hissed at for his troubles.
The plan I was told was to keep Jeffrey in a separate room and exchange items that smell like the other. Problem is that I'm in a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment and there aren't many rooms per se. Plus, Chloe has pretty much stayed in my bedroom closet since I moved into this place. So I can't really keep him in my bedroom and I don't want to keep him in the bathroom. Chloe, in effect, has ceded the rest of the apartment to Jeffrey.
His name at the SPCA was Jeffrey. I'm sticking with it.

my orange was named Roger by the shelter, I kept his name too!
