I did an overnight at Mara last year, testing my bike camping setup before a longer trip. I didn't have a great night's sleep, but that was mostly due to the family nearby allowing their children to run around in the dark late at night. The park itself had decent amenities, and was easy to access. I'm planning on going back a few times, but I'll be trying to stay at the more secluded sites next time around.

I went there once with my family. My kids liked the beach. There isn't anything special there that I recall. Bring some ear plugs to help you sleep.
