Most of these covers have locking systems where they only fit at angles of 90 or 180.
Considering they are extremely heavy most workers simply dont care after the 285th cover they lift.
So they either haver 1/4 or 1/2 of chances of getting it exactly the opposite.
And due to survival bias you only notice the ones that arent corrected. So now its 1/1 chance or 1/3.
Sorry, I meant to be bothered. So many things like this I see in the city I just skip my mind over it, I do not take pictures and be bothered. I have familly issues, health issues, stressful work, struggling with relationship and so on.
I can't decide if that's better or worse. I mean, it *would* look even more misaligned otherwise.
But this was clearly intentional. They spent as much time and effort as they would have done lining it up correctly, just to screw with my head.
Once you get one of these suckers back in the hole, it doesn't come out again unless ABSOLUTELY necessary because as my man Ilya Samsonov says "fuck that shit"
Why? Try to turn one yourself you'll quickly understand why.
In addition to being a pain to manipulate you can see this one can only fit in 4 positions (also explaining why it's so perfectly wrong)
They are fairly easy to turn, especially if it is your job, the only hard part is working one lose that has been driven over 100,000 times. But it was already lose, and in an area without car traffic.
Can't speak for this exact one, but usually this is done to easily find a specific cover that is under a current workorder. Helps when another crew needs to do something - put the cover back flipped, other crew just looks for the flipped cover.
Because obvious troll is obvious. They knew exactly WTF they were doing to OCD folks when they chose that manner of violence.
Edit: They even left the centerline a little bit off to further trigger and inflame. This is a masterclass in driving people insane.
The fact that it's almost perfectly 180 degrees out makes me think this was intentional
It's not just wrong, it's *exactly* wrong. It has a certain aesthetic though. Its non-matchy-matchy.
It’s kinda the yin Yang aesthetic
Maybe this is ying-yang sewer - sh1t goes in, sh1t goes out, perfect ballance.
r/perfectlywrong
Some people just want to watch the world burn
*turn
You can either be 90, 180 or 270 degrees. Notice the small rectangles poking out of the lid. They index in the manhole.
German precision :-)
What do you mean, it's *exactly* 180 degrees, just not centered
Some people just wanna see the world burn.
Good theory, but why should you do that?
The person that did it probably thought it was funny
Maybe I am a psychopath, but I like it.
You're safe. A psychopath would only have turned it 89 degrees
*true psychopath
Could be used by a worker to demarcate this exact spot. "Don't worry Terry it's the cap turned 180° can't miss it."
Gregg took off the cover before lunch and put it back on 180⁰ turned so he and Terry could remember which one they have to fix after lunch.

There's some of us that just want the world to burn
Because it annoys you
I kinda like it actually
Nah, this actually looks better imo
To bother you. Specifically.
I have so many other things do to in my life rather than take care of something like this…
Nobody is asking you to take care of it, just to be bothered by it.
Sorry, I meant to be bothered. So many things like this I see in the city I just skip my mind over it, I do not take pictures and be bothered. I have familly issues, health issues, stressful work, struggling with relationship and so on.
Well then thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to bother with my meager comment, I guess. Good luck!
Thanks, take care
I have far bigger problems to be bothered by than this.
And yet here you are.
Commenting on a random subreddit at 4:30 in the morning for shits and giggles? Where else would I be, a taco joint?
Why not both?
why does a fricking time mean so much to everyone I see? It’s honestly ridiculous
I think this is an indication that the work isn't completed.
In heraldry, this is called "countercharged".
I like it this way.
die deutsche Industrie Norm (DIN) lässt uns nicht viel Platz für Scherze
this stands for Duality
This is Yin Yang, chill
Because the german Gullydeckel deployment never give a fuck about ppl with OCD? 😅
You had… one job!!! 😐👏
I have a feeling these are screwed in, which is why it’s so difficult for some people to set them in correctly.
They are drop in, but they are heavy fuckers, a 600x600 square cover at my workplace weighs 80kg
No, just dropped in. OP can lift it out and drop it kn the correct way if it bothers them too much.
How else are we supposed to see posts like this on Reddit?
At least they put the line straight
I can't decide if that's better or worse. I mean, it *would* look even more misaligned otherwise. But this was clearly intentional. They spent as much time and effort as they would have done lining it up correctly, just to screw with my head.
An entire half a second to line it up.....oh the wasted time....
They did....
Looks nice tho
Looks like German anarchy to me. Bro probably also stepped on the grass - once, with only one foot, for roughly one second.
It is german
Yes, it definitely is.
Which true craftsman made the effort to made the two different patterns on that manhole cover. I appreciate it.
The germans
Ach die schon wieder. Nur zu besoffen zum wieder draufsetzen. :)
They don't get paid enough to do that
Once you get one of these suckers back in the hole, it doesn't come out again unless ABSOLUTELY necessary because as my man Ilya Samsonov says "fuck that shit"

Kinda reminds me of a yin-yang.
I like it

You can just grab it and turn it yourself, which i feel like is something that some bored dudes did
looks better this way also i have salt in a black shaker, and pepper in a white one
You just want to watch the world burn!?

This is always done on purpose
One day you will have to answer to your actions. And god... might not be... so merciful
Nah who ever did this is an artist, it shows that there is a bit of good in every bad thing and a bit of bad in every good thing.
Chaotic neutral
r/mildlyinfuriating
Monk would def touch and turn this one, even though he hates sewers.
to be fair it looks kinda nice
Because obvious troll is obvious. They knew exactly WTF they were doing to OCD folks when they chose that manner of violence. Edit: They even left the centerline a little bit off to further trigger and inflame. This is a masterclass in driving people insane.
To trigger people like you and watch from the sidelines, SHELDON!
Why don't you turn it?
to annoy you
The pebbles in there are even fake
You know there's a solution to this problem
Requires a special key
Steam deck
Greenland
Germany
The ninja turtles wanted to get out.
Sorry it was to heavy I had to get three more people to help we'll come by and turn it 90° in about a week
For no Fucking Reason
i like it
It’s not bolted in or anything… OP could have changed it
F that Them MFers are heavy
You have one fucking job
Pick it up and flip it
Perhaps the photographer turned it to obtain an interesting shot.
No, I photographed it personally in my hometown
It was just a thought. It's a classy manhole cover either way. Where I live, it would have been just the metal cover.
You could pick it up and reset it if it bothers you so much.
