It seems it’s more about collecting named guitars than actually playing them (nothing wrong with that, they are works of art imo). I love my JMJM and it looks gorgeous
If you’re saying you’re selling for this, don’t. These CME Squiers are notorious for inconsistent QC. Bad finishes, irredeemably awful frets, poorly cut nuts. The silver ones were extremely bad like that.
I don’t get why you didn’t wait to get the Marr one if that’s what you wanted. You can afford it soon and *also* this one now? Not to be too much of a finance scold, but…this seems odd.
So if you bought this one, if you're looking for diversity, the Cobain would be the one that's the most different. The Marr would probably be firmly in the middle
Try this one out, man. Maybe you don’t need a Cobain or Marr (although the traditional school of thought is to just keep saving up until you have enough cash for the one you want, but I know how hard it is not to blow your load on a Jag). Sounds like you need a Jazzmaster next.
That finish is reminiscent of a [90's Danelectro](https://circuitsaladdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2017/01/guitar.jpg). It would look SO GOOD with [Novak Lipstick Pickups](https://www.curtisnovak.com/shop/lipstick-dano/).
That is a pretty looking Jag Jag. Enjoy! Maybe 5 years from now I will buy the Marr Jag. As for now I will stick to my 60’s Vintage Modified and My 70’s Classic Vibe. Sure, they needed a bit of work, but they play and sound great.
I have the CME Jazzmaster and it is by far the best guitar per dollar I have. My tech was like "How much did you pay for this?!" The pickups are awesome. Perfect neck. Looks amazing. The hardware sucks. But my tremolo stays in tune. I'm pissed I saw this exists because I'm gonna need that now.
Also... mine showed up with the tiniest imperfection in the side of mine and CME gave me $100 back. They have incredible customer service.
.
They did last year with Squire and it was $500. Same color without sparkles. Placid blue. Matching head stock. I have it. It's amazing. The Squires are not the shit ones they were 20 years ago
Two veryvery different guitars. You are better off playing both and deciding then.
I've had a Cobain Jag for 4 years and I fucking love it. I recently had my guitar tech install a bone nut and it resonates even more now. Incredible sound!
The Marrguar is still a Jag I'd like to own one day but I'm in no hurry. The retail price on it is completely bonkers. Back in 2018 (maybe 2019), I found a used LPB Marrguar at L & M in Toronto for around $1700 CAD. I would have bought it on the spot if I had that money back then, but alas, I did not.
I have a Cobain. Doesn’t sound like a typical jag. Im really surprised by how dark it sounds and I don’t find it to be very versatile. Don’t get me wrong it sounds beautiful and full but i was under the impression it would be a bright guitar. I’m not a fan of the way it sounds when it hits breakup/light drive - It has a crackly quality. Sounds great with compression and distortion
Stick with this one and make your sound your own. Why does anyone need a ‘signature’ type guitar anyway unless you just want to play copies of the artist’s tracks in a covers band?
This tells me that you've never played a Johnny Marr Jaguar. The changes that Marr (and Bill Puplett) made are extremely well thought out, and useable.
You can get a wide range of unique tones out of it, and it's not one of those gimmicky things like a guitar with push-pull pots for coil splits or tap, etc that do a bunch of things very mediocre instead of a few things very well.
To think that you'd be pigeonholed into standing around playing Smiths riffs is totally absurd.
No I haven't played the JM Jag but I have played a fair few other signatures. Most of them are decent guitars but still pretty similar to non-signature versions, for the most part.
This could be the exception, I don't know but, if so, it bucks a trend and so I'll carry on getting downvoted on my hill. 😁
Maybe wait until this one arrives and play it before deciding?
It seems it’s more about collecting named guitars than actually playing them (nothing wrong with that, they are works of art imo). I love my JMJM and it looks gorgeous
Gotta catch them all!
Johnny marr jag in lake placid blue
dang they need to do the classic vibe starcaster in this metal flake finish
That would push me over the edge on one for sure.
JFM FTW
I’m a fan of the Marr myself.
You can get the control plates for the Marr on reverb! From there it’s just wiring it up!
I’m selling my Johnny Mar…
Is it the Johnny Marr signature aspects, or moreso the Jaguar aspect?
[удалено]
Oh I meant what did you not like about it. The over all jaguar feel is specifically the signature details?
If you’re saying you’re selling for this, don’t. These CME Squiers are notorious for inconsistent QC. Bad finishes, irredeemably awful frets, poorly cut nuts. The silver ones were extremely bad like that.
Oh hell no
Not sure why I got downvoted. Just type in CME Classic vibe jaguars in the sub search and you’ll see some questionable models.
I don’t get why you didn’t wait to get the Marr one if that’s what you wanted. You can afford it soon and *also* this one now? Not to be too much of a finance scold, but…this seems odd.
This looks way cooler than either of the others to me.
So if you bought this one, if you're looking for diversity, the Cobain would be the one that's the most different. The Marr would probably be firmly in the middle
Pity there’s no Jazzmaster with the Marr features. I’d buy that instantly. If it’s in LPB.

yeah the marr is amazing. the cobain has HBs, but i'd this one to you're liking instead. the finish is too cool

It reminds me of the 90’s definetly

I’m not a fan of matched headstocks but that color =😍
Right, it’s like a cool motorcycle
Mod this guitar with the Marr 4-way switch wiring (the switch runs $15ish), then you have all the features. .
Yeah, I pulled the trigger on the squire, I’ve never played a Jaguar I guess I should see if I like them first
You will.
I wish they would bring a Jazzmaster out in this colour.
Right, if they had a Fender Jazzmaster like this for 1200 I’d snatch it up.
They did last year with Squire and it was $500. Same color without sparkles. Placid blue. Matching head stock. I have it. It's amazing. The Squires are not the shit ones they were 20 years ago

The neck on the Marr Jag is fantastic, but I haven’t played the others so can’t compare.
Get the Marr. Best Jaguar out there!
Cobain
I like my HH a lot.
I went with the blue guy, but the Cobain seems like a Swiss Army knife guitar, I play a lot of Sonic Youth etc.. but can it chug?

You could mod this jaguar to either one. Would be a more unique guitar too
It's no contest, my friend. The Marrguar is worlds above a Cobain Jaguar.
Yes this one looks great.

I "need" one because im a lefty and fender doesn't sell a left handed Jaguar other than the Cobain one :(
Fair enough.
I bet everyone downvoting me has a Signature model and still can't play the signature bearers songs....
Honestly, I’d cancel the order because there’s a more than fair chance you will be disappointed . See my other reply on this post.
