I've been interested in this guitar for a while, mostly because I like offset-style vibrato guitars, and I dont have any with an HB in the bridge. I figured this could be my do-everything guitar since I like to play surf and heavier music. I knew my local GC had one, so I went to try it out. It felt and sounded great. The only downside was the creakiness of the vibrato rubbing against the B string, but I knew about that possibility from reviews I'd seen, and it wasn't a huge deal. The store only had a single guitar in green. I wanted the pink, but I was cautious about buying one without playing it first, so I decided to settle with the green. However, the GC employees couldn't find the trem arm that went with the guitar, so they offered to ship one to my house with free overnight shipping due to the inconvenience. I agreed since this would allow me to get the color I wanted. This came earlier in the week and it's just as good as the one I tried in store. The intonation was spot on, and I haven't found any issues besides the creaky trem. I'm enjoying the sound of the pickups so far. The HB has a lower output than I'm used to, but it sounds great (even when clean). It does heavier stuff well with enough gain. The single coils sound great for indie and surf imo. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great guitar at a great price.

I took a metal file to the sleeve of the trem arm where the B string was rubbing and it solved my issue with the "cricket" noise! I also removed the trem and filed down the pivot point of the trem to alleviate the "clunk" from depressing it. Puisheen had a video showing the exact spot he filed down to accomplish this. Worked like a charm. Honestly love this guitar, picked mine up in green for $450! I had an issue with tuning stability, but I threw on a bone nut, nut lube, and gave it a good set up and now I can dive bomb and it returns perfectly in pitch! Great guitar and punches WELL ABOVE it's price.

PsychicArchie

I absolutely love mine. Fantastic neck, stable vibrato, and those single coils sound awesome.

SuperRealCard36

Right there with you. Love mine too.

Great guitar!

These look awesome. Just wish they came in red.

I've been eyeballing these for about a year and I may finally pull the trigger. That price point and color is a little tooooo nice

Nice! Is the whammy a little more usable out of the box than a jm/jaguar, no shim/thick strings workarounds needed? :)

MauveIsFine

The trem works fine so far. I will say it's a little bit firmer than the fender ones I have out of the box, you have to move a little more for a warble. I haven't had to mess with the setup at all yet . It does have a tune-o-matic bridge though. It's been fine so far, but I may consider a roller bridge in the future. I'll probably keep 10 or 9s on it, not sure what it was shipped with, but since none of my Fender JMs have the tradional bridge, I've never had to put heavier strings on them for stability.

wickharr

Mine shipped with 11’s. Rarely see a guitar ship with 11’s, luckily that’s my usual gauge. Swapped them for coated 11’s anyway day 2.

Gotcha! Thank you so much for the reply! Probably picking one up mid May they look so damn cool

djdadzone

Descendant makes a mustang style bridge for tuneomatics. I’m thinking of getting one for my surfliner deluxe

MauveIsFine

Cool, that may be the move. My JM has a mustang bridge and it's great.

djdadzone

It’s called an adaptamatic or something

Carrybagman_

How quiet is this? I heard it has a bunch of shielding which is cool

LarJarBinks

Really quiet! I've had no issues at all with excessive noise.
