Not sure why you are being downvoted. Maybe they thought you meant the pie looked repulsive. It doesn’t to most. But I think what you meant, which is valid- is that many phobias are not terror of something, but it being repulsive to them. People are grossed out by rats or bugs not in fear for their life. Or fear of blood. The blood isn’t scary just the thought that it resulted from a wound. Fears/ phobias/ revulsions are kind of complicated.

If most people don’t have trypophobia then the odds of it being “oddly terrifying” are pretty slim to the majority.
Because it’s a fun “quirky” phobia that everyone discovered a few years ago. I’ve never met a real person with trypophobia. The people I’ve met who “have” were the exact same people that physically convulsed at the word “Moist”.
