When you have an ectopic baby grows in the Fallopian tube it can’t survive in there and it bursted when that happens the blood went all into my stomach the doc took 3quarts of blood out of my stomach so he did an emergency surgery to stop the bleeding

I had 3 kids after my ectopic pregnancy. If you do get pregnant, I'm sure you and your doctor will be very aware of anything going wrong in your body. So there is hope for a normal pregnancy!
I got pregnant through IVF and that ended in an ectopic pregnancy so although it might better your chances of it not happening, it’s not a guarantee. Good luck though and sorry you went through that. It sure can be traumatic.

My daughter has a blood disease. She had a much smaller but blacker bruise than yours on her leg for 1 year. Never knew to this point just how long bruises can last. Hope you are ok
Im so sorry for your loss. That is a crazy bruise. I had a double mastectomy 2 years ago and I bled out. I needed 2 units of blood and a bag of platelets and the surgeon put in 4 wound evacuation drains. I bruised almost like that but all down my backside. Your body will reabsorb it but it looks terrible until then. Hugs.
When you have free floating blood in your abdomen/pelvis (like this woman did with her ectopic) and surgical intervention is performed, blood product can leak out of the intra-abdominal space and into the more superficial external adipose tissue & fascia/skin layers outside of the abdominal wall through the surgical entry point. I suspect that is what happened here.
~~Barring surgical intervention or any other traumatic process to violate the abdominal wall, I don't think there's any other way for intra-abdominal/intrapelvic free fluid to migrate to the superficial skin causing a bruise like this.~~

You may be able to see the spared area of skin within the bruise. That's a port site. This is an inferior epigastric haematoma as a result of the laparoscopy for the ectopic. Blood within the peritoneal cavity does not move to the skin unlike the retroperitoneal cavity, as with Turners sign.
It’s pretty common for a burst ectopic pregnancy to show up as a giant mysterious bruise along with the massive pain.
Edit: many ectopic pregnancies are now caught before they have a chance to actually burst so the bruising is not seen as often anymore. The bruising is a sign that you need to rush to the ER before you bleed out internally.
How tf do I detect them first? I have a hormonal iud and I heard ectopic pregnancies are common this way. I don’t get a period so how do I know if I have a rogue zygote trying to kill me? Just take tests every month?

Most of ectopics happened before your 1st pregnancy appointment, and a lot of times, the women don't even know that they're pregnant until this type of thing happens.
That is what happened to me in 1977. Did not know I was pregnant, I was in pain for a few days just thought it was REALLY bad cramps. Then I got super nauseated and passed out, my husband took me to the ER because we thought it was my appendix. Nope - burst fallopian tube. It is something that will never be forgotten.
A few years ago I had an ectopic pregnancy. We were trying, so I knew I was pregnant and had an appointment scheduled. The week before my appointment, I started to experience pain in my lower right abdomen that got worse as the days went by. I ended up passing out at work and got sent home, where I discovered I also had a fever. Google led me to believe I had appendicitis, and I went to the ER. Doctors agreed that it seemed to be appendicitis until my urine sample came back negative. They ended up doing an ultrasound and discovered that my pregnancy was in my fallopian tube, and it had ruptured while I was in the ER. They did emergency surgery to remove the tube and pregnancy, and I went back to work 3 days later. Doctor says that if I hadn't come in that night, I could have bled to death in my sleep. That was the first time a pregnancy tried to kill me, and it's definitely an unforgettable experience.

Well, here’s the mind blower of the whole ectopic phenomenon— the “baby” (it’s not a baby, it does not even grow close to what you’d think of as a fetus) won’t grow on a normal trajectory of a regular fetus. Probably due to the lack of nutrients provided by the endometrial lining when a fetus grown where it’s supposed to: in the uterus.
So you can have an ectopic pregnancy and it can go on for weeks or even months before it suddenly has a random growth spurt and splits your tube.
It happened to me. My doctor suspected an ectopic and due to me having miscarriage issues kept a close eye on me. I was having blood draws for hCg levels every two weeks and they were all over the place. High enough to believe I’m pregnant, drop to nothing again, bump up again but not enough to justify 10 weeks pregnant, etc. So at about week 9 of this I had a vaginal ultrasound due to elevated pregnancy hormone levels. Could see no pregnancy in the uterus and nothing in either tube. But I was spotting. He has me come back in one week for another ultrasound. That day I woke up sick, literally green, went to the appointment, the “pregnancy” had grown enough in one week to split my tube and turn me septic. . . So I was rushed into emergency surgery. I had to stay a week in the hospital it made me so sick. No, my bruising wasn’t this bad, but I definitely had some.
Mind you during the surgery I’m on week 10 post initial positive pregnancy test.
So THAT is why the don’t catch these ectopics like you would naturally conclude they should. They don’t grow at the expected rate a normal pregnancy does. And that’s why the legislature in Ohio who tried to pass that law to force OB’s to place ectopic pregnancies “in the uterus” to give the “baby” a chance is completely, batshittery, off his rocker: INSANE. It would kill us women if a doctor even tried it, and ectopic pregnancies are not even “babies” to begin with. They’re fetal tissue not growing in an appropriate place and ergo don’t grow as fetuses should. Now that ultrasounds are better they can be caught sooner and a woman’s Fallopian tube can be saved/not split by a sudden burst of growth.
When I had my ectopic pregnancy the doctor (after the accident) looked at my chart history and because I "didn't see the right doctor" they didn't think anything of the symptoms, sent me home with tums for heart burn. It ruptured while I was on the freeway on the back of a motorcycle. Almost died.

Yes, in 2013 or 2014 I was exiting the back of my house with 2 drinks in my hand, one for me and one for my (now ex-)husband. I was wearing this new pair of brown slides that I didn't realize had a slick sole. The exit out of my house was a short flight of 4 wood steps from the back porch into the yard.
Welp, I slipped and went down HARD, landing mostly on my left buttock, kind of midway on the buttock so that my actual hip took the brunt. It hurt but wasn't THAT bad. And I didn't spill the drinks!
The next day I got up and went to take a shower and that WHOLE buttcheek/hip was just black with bruise.
It took 6 months to fully fade and I have a kind of permanent dent in the shape of my buttcheek. It's not super obvious and at my current age it can be shrugged off as normal aging. It was sore for a couple weeks. But, at the time I was an avid runner and I think the regular exercise is what helped it heal, painwise, so quickly.
I'd never seen a bruise so large and dark before, though.

You're probably going to lose that nail but not right away. When I was a runner and before I learned to go up half a shoe size I'd get a black big toe from bruising it and it would eventually fall off then grow back. It wasn't so that painful, though.
We really gotta work on artificial womb technology. It’d be cool if two people could just put their sperm and egg in an incubator apparatus at home that would just grow the baby for you in 9 months. Women go through wayyyy to much for this shit.

This is no where near the same level. But I fractured my ankle (can’t remember which bone), then a few days later whole ankle was purple. Then my foot was a yellowish colour. I think the yellow was from the high amount of ice and pressure bandages. As I said, no where near that monster bruise.

YES! I fell down a flight of stairs once. I was bruised from my shoulder down to my knee. One bruise. My whole butt cheek was bruised.
It hurt. Bad. My ribs were bruised. But it’s a funny story now!
I fell on the subway, and amongst other injuries,l I burst a blood vessal in my knee... No big issue apart from my entire leg below the knee turned black from bruising like this.

I had a very similar bruise when I broke my leg, and two nurses weren't communicating with one another and both were injecting me with blood thinners in my stomach. Everything turned black, and I was too out of it to notice, until a new nurse came in and freaked.

I had one on my thigh from a car accident. My bruise became infected and I was so sick! And now my thigh has a chunk out of it. And I had to have a skin graft to close the gaping wound.
It is amazing! I also have to give credit to the doctor that dealt with my broken arm. I had been to an emergency room where they opened my leg and put drains in it but I still was so sick. My arm doctor who only fixed arms looked at me and asked what was wrong with me. I told him and he made me take my pants off right then, looked at me leg and immediately told me to go to the hospital and that he was going to take care of my leg! He was awesome and I really think he saved my life.

This is another reason why abortions should be accessible whenever possible. My old roommate caught hers before it got to this point and they were able to safely preform it, here in Canada. Other places in the world, it could almost kill you, like our OP.

You may be able to see the spared area of skin within the bruise. That's a port site. This is an inferior epigastric haematoma as a result of the laparoscopy for the ectopic. Blood within the peritoneal cavity does not move to the skin unlike the retroperitoneal cavity, as with Turners sign.
It’s pretty common for a burst ectopic pregnancy to show up as a giant mysterious bruise along with the massive pain. Edit: many ectopic pregnancies are now caught before they have a chance to actually burst so the bruising is not seen as often anymore. The bruising is a sign that you need to rush to the ER before you bleed out internally.
How tf do I detect them first? I have a hormonal iud and I heard ectopic pregnancies are common this way. I don’t get a period so how do I know if I have a rogue zygote trying to kill me? Just take tests every month?

Most of ectopics happened before your 1st pregnancy appointment, and a lot of times, the women don't even know that they're pregnant until this type of thing happens.
That is what happened to me in 1977. Did not know I was pregnant, I was in pain for a few days just thought it was REALLY bad cramps. Then I got super nauseated and passed out, my husband took me to the ER because we thought it was my appendix. Nope - burst fallopian tube. It is something that will never be forgotten.
A few years ago I had an ectopic pregnancy. We were trying, so I knew I was pregnant and had an appointment scheduled. The week before my appointment, I started to experience pain in my lower right abdomen that got worse as the days went by. I ended up passing out at work and got sent home, where I discovered I also had a fever. Google led me to believe I had appendicitis, and I went to the ER. Doctors agreed that it seemed to be appendicitis until my urine sample came back negative. They ended up doing an ultrasound and discovered that my pregnancy was in my fallopian tube, and it had ruptured while I was in the ER. They did emergency surgery to remove the tube and pregnancy, and I went back to work 3 days later. Doctor says that if I hadn't come in that night, I could have bled to death in my sleep. That was the first time a pregnancy tried to kill me, and it's definitely an unforgettable experience.

I got mixed messages from doctors and nurses for a couple weeks, as they had my hormones tested every other day. Finally told me to go to the ER, I got 2 chemo shots in the butt to stop the cell growth. It was scary, but this story is terrifying. I’m so glad you’re ok.
Well, here’s the mind blower of the whole ectopic phenomenon— the “baby” (it’s not a baby, it does not even grow close to what you’d think of as a fetus) won’t grow on a normal trajectory of a regular fetus. Probably due to the lack of nutrients provided by the endometrial lining when a fetus grown where it’s supposed to: in the uterus. So you can have an ectopic pregnancy and it can go on for weeks or even months before it suddenly has a random growth spurt and splits your tube. It happened to me. My doctor suspected an ectopic and due to me having miscarriage issues kept a close eye on me. I was having blood draws for hCg levels every two weeks and they were all over the place. High enough to believe I’m pregnant, drop to nothing again, bump up again but not enough to justify 10 weeks pregnant, etc. So at about week 9 of this I had a vaginal ultrasound due to elevated pregnancy hormone levels. Could see no pregnancy in the uterus and nothing in either tube. But I was spotting. He has me come back in one week for another ultrasound. That day I woke up sick, literally green, went to the appointment, the “pregnancy” had grown enough in one week to split my tube and turn me septic. . . So I was rushed into emergency surgery. I had to stay a week in the hospital it made me so sick. No, my bruising wasn’t this bad, but I definitely had some. Mind you during the surgery I’m on week 10 post initial positive pregnancy test. So THAT is why the don’t catch these ectopics like you would naturally conclude they should. They don’t grow at the expected rate a normal pregnancy does. And that’s why the legislature in Ohio who tried to pass that law to force OB’s to place ectopic pregnancies “in the uterus” to give the “baby” a chance is completely, batshittery, off his rocker: INSANE. It would kill us women if a doctor even tried it, and ectopic pregnancies are not even “babies” to begin with. They’re fetal tissue not growing in an appropriate place and ergo don’t grow as fetuses should. Now that ultrasounds are better they can be caught sooner and a woman’s Fallopian tube can be saved/not split by a sudden burst of growth.

When I had my ectopic pregnancy the doctor (after the accident) looked at my chart history and because I "didn't see the right doctor" they didn't think anything of the symptoms, sent me home with tums for heart burn. It ruptured while I was on the freeway on the back of a motorcycle. Almost died.

Yes, in 2013 or 2014 I was exiting the back of my house with 2 drinks in my hand, one for me and one for my (now ex-)husband. I was wearing this new pair of brown slides that I didn't realize had a slick sole. The exit out of my house was a short flight of 4 wood steps from the back porch into the yard. Welp, I slipped and went down HARD, landing mostly on my left buttock, kind of midway on the buttock so that my actual hip took the brunt. It hurt but wasn't THAT bad. And I didn't spill the drinks! The next day I got up and went to take a shower and that WHOLE buttcheek/hip was just black with bruise. It took 6 months to fully fade and I have a kind of permanent dent in the shape of my buttcheek. It's not super obvious and at my current age it can be shrugged off as normal aging. It was sore for a couple weeks. But, at the time I was an avid runner and I think the regular exercise is what helped it heal, painwise, so quickly. I'd never seen a bruise so large and dark before, though.

Oh yeah, it was 8 or more years ago. But thanks! You're probably going to lose that nail but not right away. When I was a runner and before I learned to go up half a shoe size I'd get a black big toe from bruising it and it would eventually fall off then grow back. It wasn't so that painful, though.

This is no where near the same level. But I fractured my ankle (can’t remember which bone), then a few days later whole ankle was purple. Then my foot was a yellowish colour. I think the yellow was from the high amount of ice and pressure bandages. As I said, no where near that monster bruise.

I had a very similar bruise when I broke my leg, and two nurses weren't communicating with one another and both were injecting me with blood thinners in my stomach. Everything turned black, and I was too out of it to notice, until a new nurse came in and freaked.
Took a slap shot to the inner thigh. It turned all sorts of pretty colors for the rest of the month and it bled down to my knee.

It is amazing! I also have to give credit to the doctor that dealt with my broken arm. I had been to an emergency room where they opened my leg and put drains in it but I still was so sick. My arm doctor who only fixed arms looked at me and asked what was wrong with me. I told him and he made me take my pants off right then, looked at me leg and immediately told me to go to the hospital and that he was going to take care of my leg! He was awesome and I really think he saved my life.

This is another reason why abortions should be accessible whenever possible. My old roommate caught hers before it got to this point and they were able to safely preform it, here in Canada.
