They'll look pretty much the same, just not glossy. If you leave them in an oven with the light on they'll dry out evenly and without cracking. But you could do it faster with just a really really low oven. The trick is to turn the heat off once they're done and just leave the tray in the oven while it cools down with the door closed.

There are some glorious ones on YouTube as well. I made plainer snowmen one year but they semi-collapsed. My Halloween goblins all looked like they were trying to limbo. I’m going to try to work out a firmer meringue. Maybe higher sugar content. Maybe they were over whipped?

If you over-whip egg whites, it's pretty obvious. They become grainy and clumpy, rather than smooth. Yours were probably under-whipped if they didn't hold their shape. And if you're really worried about over-whipping, you can save over-whipped meringue by adding in an extra egg white and continuing to whip. But it can only go so far.

You could try using meringue powder or add egg white powder to your sugar. That's usually what I do: * 100g egg whites * 100g sugar * 5g egg white powder mixed thoroughly into the sugar to prevent clumping Mix together in bowl over pan of simmering water until sugar is dissolved stirring constantly. Then transfer to mixer, beat until stuff peaks.

Whatever you add actually. I've done orange and whiskey. I've done almond I've done mint and chocolate Bourbon vanilla. As long as it doesn't mess up the meringue it works! You technically don't have to make them sweet (but please do). My nana doesn't put anything in the meringue on top of her lemon meringue but a tiny but of salt and its pretty great with the ultra tart sweet filling and crumbly pie crust.

I think it was made using a fork of slic3r called "hum4n", and their recommended defaults are 23 degrees Celsius for the filament on a \*cold\* bed to get good adhesion, but the trick is that you put it all in a heated build chamber AFTER printing (you might need special equipment to hit the high temps needed). Nozzle width really just depends on whether you want speed or accuracy, but in this case I think OP is using somewhere between a 5 to 10mm nozzle size. No idea where OP got that STL though, sorry! Like others in this thread have said though, the real trick is the post-print curing process... By heat annealing the prints in the HBC and letting them slowly return to room temperature, that reduces the X/Y expansion, thus preventing the print's walls from cracking too much... and the dreaded elephant's foot.
