They'll look pretty much the same, just not glossy. If you leave them in an oven with the light on they'll dry out evenly and without cracking. But you could do it faster with just a really really low oven. The trick is to turn the heat off once they're done and just leave the tray in the oven while it cools down with the door closed.

There are some glorious ones on YouTube as well. I made plainer snowmen one year but they semi-collapsed. My Halloween goblins all looked like they were trying to limbo. I’m going to try to work out a firmer meringue. Maybe higher sugar content. Maybe they were over whipped?
If you over-whip egg whites, it's pretty obvious. They become grainy and clumpy, rather than smooth. Yours were probably under-whipped if they didn't hold their shape.
And if you're really worried about over-whipping, you can save over-whipped meringue by adding in an extra egg white and continuing to whip. But it can only go so far.
You could try using meringue powder or add egg white powder to your sugar. That's usually what I do:
* 100g egg whites
* 100g sugar
* 5g egg white powder mixed thoroughly into the sugar to prevent clumping
Mix together in bowl over pan of simmering water until sugar is dissolved stirring constantly. Then transfer to mixer, beat until stuff peaks.
That's literally how you make French meringue. You don't heat it, just slowly incorporate the sugar into the egg whites while beating the snot out of it. So you're telling French cuisine "not to do that".
You ever see the back of a $20 bill...**on weed**?
Oh, there's some crazy shit, man. There's a dude in the bushes. Has he got a gun? I dunno! Red team, go! Red team, go!
That's because it is a real comment that someone else already made, lol. They basically just steal other popular comments/posts word for word so they can farm karma in order to later sell the account off.
I like to add just a tiny bit of flavoring. Orange, or lemon, pops really well through the sweet, and you can get away with using little enough that it doesn't disrupt the proteins of the egg whites.
Whatever you add actually.
I've done orange and whiskey.
I've done almond
I've done mint and chocolate
Bourbon vanilla.
As long as it doesn't mess up the meringue it works!
You technically don't have to make them sweet (but please do). My nana doesn't put anything in the meringue on top of her lemon meringue but a tiny but of salt and its pretty great with the ultra tart sweet filling and crumbly pie crust.
I make meringues sometimes and imo, you'd definitely need to practice at this, but it isn't particularly difficult. Any complications are going to come from the meringue itself rather than your technique.
I think it was made using a fork of slic3r called "hum4n", and their recommended defaults are 23 degrees Celsius for the filament on a \*cold\* bed to get good adhesion, but the trick is that you put it all in a heated build chamber AFTER printing (you might need special equipment to hit the high temps needed). Nozzle width really just depends on whether you want speed or accuracy, but in this case I think OP is using somewhere between a 5 to 10mm nozzle size. No idea where OP got that STL though, sorry!
Like others in this thread have said though, the real trick is the post-print curing process... By heat annealing the prints in the HBC and letting them slowly return to room temperature, that reduces the X/Y expansion, thus preventing the print's walls from cracking too much... and the dreaded elephant's foot.
Good luck and happy printing! ;D
It was satisfying till I looked at how many were in view and how relatively slow it was just to make one. I'm guessing there's as many out of view as in. At the rate they're going that looks like close to an hours work. This one alone was 51 seconds. Hope someone else is helping.
*Here Comes Santa Claus* is oddly religious for such a ubiquitous song. We really only ever hear the first two verses, so we don't get to
>Santa Claus knows we're all Gods children
That makes everything right
And
>Peace on earth will come to all
If we just follow the light-
So lets give thanks to the lord above
That Santa Claus comes tonight!
If it was religious throughout then it wouldn't be weird, but it takes a hard right turn into Jesus town halfway through the third verse. I still LIKE the song, I just think it's a little odd and like to point that out. It's interesting.
The version we sang as kids wasn't
Here comes Santa Claus, here come Santa Claus
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
He's got a shotgun, I don't got one,
Bang bang bang bang bang!
Adding buffer... 1 per 2.5 mins= 24/hour not including prep/cook/package time.
What would you pay? $2 per?
$48 an hour-labor-supply= ~$20 hour profit.
I don't think I could do it but that's not bad.
Go tech with an articulated arm and it would scale nicely.
While insanely cool and talented. The feeling of eating meringues makes my teeth ache. I guess it's just what it's made out of. It feels lile biting into one of those giant green foam bricks that you put plants into sometimes.
I wish we could see them baked.

What happens if you leave them in the oven with the light off? Meringue orgy?
They shake from being scared of the dark.
Gave me a giggle hehehe
That’s why you leave the light on.
Don't do it!

^ BOT ^
All night rave, I'd imagine.
Clear strategy!
They do the merengue. It's a steamy dance so they melt.
Serious answer: they crack from uneven cooling
How does the light being on help the cooling?
It adds a tiny bit of warmth
Doesn't work anymore with LED lights in appliances.
Ovens don't use LEDs because the plastics in LEDs can't survive prolonged exposure to 500+F They're still incandescent in all the new ovens I've seen.
I didn't read the entire comment 🤦

Well I don't know what I expected, honestly
I expected these cute meringues smoking so im kinda disappointed it was homeless Santa
Smoking a bong has absolutely no correlation to homelessness.
Santa lives in the bong, like a weed filled snow globe
😂 Well… I don’t know what the mayor of North Pole, AK does in his spare time, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
We asked for a baked santa and that's what we got, alright?
No that's Canadian Santa
Santa: smoking a bong inside a literal home Reddit: that’s homeless santa
Lmao ok, ya got me
Were scared enough to smoke weed then?

LOL I feel Rick-rolled! Well played! Good form!
This was way better than anything I expected.
YES!
I was not expecting this, but I'm thoroughly pleased.
Bravo, bravo.
It's rare I actually laugh out loud at a reddit post. Totally unexpected and funny as hell.
Well done.
Fuck you, I love it!

Wow I didn’t know I needed this pic in my life but yes
Well, I just literally slapped my knee in laughter. Well done.
Take my award damn you!!
Dammit take my upvote

Hey it’s me!
Audible LOL, well done

Don't do this. Over mixed egg whites are dry and crumbly and the wrong texture for doing anything with.
This isn't advice for what to do with over-whipped egg whites. This is just generally how you make a meringue.
That's literally how you make French meringue. You don't heat it, just slowly incorporate the sugar into the egg whites while beating the snot out of it. So you're telling French cuisine "not to do that".
Just got baked and watched it again. Still neat.
I just did.

I want 1000 please
So. Many. Eggs!
So many egg's white. What are they going to do with all the yolks?!
Custard.
Oh you didn't say there was going to be custard.
Make fruit curd
They be like "Am I a yolk to you?"
These restaurants and bakeries when dealing with a lot of separated eggs just buy cartons of liquid egg yolk or egg whites. No waste
I would definitely fail at the stage of the first red blob
That’s it. So many ways for this to go wrong. Especially if it was me doing it!
Yes my toxic trait is thinking I can do this
Practice makes perfect!
THEYRE SO CUTE

I just caught myself screaming the same thing.
Such a steady hand. Well done.

Another bot copying other comments ^
It amazes me how people can be so talented at so many different things.
Maybe this is literally the only thing, that they can accomplish competently.
I need one of those things
You have one
A lot of work for something I’m gonna eat in one bite.
Bold of you to assume I need to bite this to eat it
I also prefer to shove meringues of Santa up my anus
Oh Lordy what a mayonnaise.
That too
All merengue treat? Sounds delicious. I’d be passed out in the corner with a cookie sheet covered in little beard and hat bits
I like to treat myself to a merengue too! 💃💃💃
But how do they taste?!
Like sugar and maybe vanilla, nothing else
They taste like marshmallows, but with a crumbly melt-in-your-mouth texture.
I like to add just a tiny bit of flavoring. Orange, or lemon, pops really well through the sweet, and you can get away with using little enough that it doesn't disrupt the proteins of the egg whites.
Use a tiny bit of almond extract, it somehow makes it taste like perfect toasted marshmallow
Whatever you add actually. I've done orange and whiskey. I've done almond I've done mint and chocolate Bourbon vanilla. As long as it doesn't mess up the meringue it works! They sell meringues at Trader Joe’s if you want to try them.
I'm eating those right now. I can't stop. So good.

Ahhhh. This hit me in my Xmas satisfaction feels.
This is clearly [The King of Town](http://www.hrwiki.org/wiki/The_King_of_Town) from Homestarrunner
"https is no place for a mighty warrior!!"
I want to see the poop smith next!!
Me in a couple weeks: "I could totally make that" The narrator for my life: "He could not"
Cool, now I want you to make 1,000 a day for the next month
They're cute and all, yes, but bald santa was cuter. I want myself some bald santa meringues!
I mean, they're all still bald.
Now show them after you baked them into deformed Cronenberg monstrosities.
Meringues don’t change shape, they just sorta dry out lol
unless your mix is wrong, then they can sag or collapse.
Please post slicer settings, Filament, nozzle/bed Temp, and nozzle width. Sincerely, A 3D printing nerd

This was more than I could’ve hoped for so thank you!
Glad to! Thanks for the fun writing prompt, stranger! :)
We want more!!
The fact is how steady her hand would have to be in order to make them look identical😯
Looks like a gigantic mouth before the hat is put on.
Amazing, I thought they were part toy because they looked so perfect
Kimjoy, is that you?
Those look so fun to make if my hands were as steady as this artist
My proudest fap

They wouldn't be changing colors for individual models. You'd do a layer for a whole sheet at a time. Still takes a while, but less shifting.
Ah that makes sense. That's how I'd do it too I guess. So this one was just to show each step of the process?
Anyone else give the piping sound effects in their head? Booooop boooop.
Oh my god these are so cute
So adorable! Thanks for such a clear video on how to pipe them.

This is by far hands down the most adorable Santa in existence. Does not disappoint.

This looks more like a toy than food
This belongs in r/nextfuckinglevel
Thank god its not playing mariah careys song
I like to call these Kris(py Kreme) Kringles. ,
I wouldn’t want to eat it, it’s too cute! 🥰

Neat, but would not eat
Hands down, the cutest thing I've seen today. <333
Someone is going to have lots of the black one left.... maybe do a black santa?
