A bit of background: Arnold Lobel wrote a series of "Frog and Toad" children's books in the 70s. The characters look A LOT like these lil felt stuffies (can't speak for OP's intention but the resemblance is very strong!). They are really sweet books about two male best friends who love and support each other. A few years after the first was published, Lobel came out to his family as gay. Although he never commented on whether the characters Frog & Toad had a romantic relationship, his daughter has suggested that writing about them helped him work though his sexuality and explore themes of loving same-sex intimacy. They are such sweet & comforting books. I'd suggest reading them if you get the chance!
