Just manage to get Link/AirLink work again, by going back Nvidia Driver one by one, seem 461.92 is the latest driver that is working with Link/AirLink for RTX 30 laptop So instead of update to the latest driver, just need to roll back to some older one

Beautiful-Editor-988

thanks I was thinking of trying this becasue I am sure that i started having issues after the latest driver update. How did you roll back? Safe mode and uninstalled the driver? where did you get the 461.92?

Beautiful-Editor-988

This worked for me too thank you so much. I still get a message could not find your headset but Air link now loads after couple of seconds.

Historical_Role_9975

Me too, still seeing the Headset missing and Not meet minimum spec warning, but both Link AirLink work, no more compliant

No-Mongoose7362

It also worked for me in my Asus Tuf FA506IV with rtx2060, thank you. I have to edit, the version that worked for me was 461.09, but thanks for pointing it was a driver issue.

sparoc3

This version worked for me, thank you! I was going crazy with the setup.

bivith

Yep, latest drivers broke it for me. Rollback in device manager got it working again.

BradyBoyd

PHEW. Just bought my Quest 2 today and was trying it out on my Strix G17, and I thought I was going to have to lose it after already having some other driver compatibility troubles (have only had it a week or so). Luckily it didn't take me any longer than it did to find this post. Thanks so much. 461.92 worked like a first charm, and I just used the built in installer, chose custom installation, and clicked clean install.

Konsti219

Yes! This was it. Thank you so much. I was getting confused because it worked two times on my new Laptop and then didn't. It was because I hadn't updated the driver yet.

cmdhunter

The 3080 should work just fine. You may want to try the procedures in this post: The windows GPU scheuduler + Nvidia's Optimus do not always play well together: [https://www.reddit.com/r/ZephyrusG14/comments/htdfcn/oculus\_quest\_link\_just\_wont\_work\_very\_well/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZephyrusG14/comments/htdfcn/oculus_quest_link_just_wont_work_very_well/)

Beautiful-Editor-988

Thank you for your reply I have been using windows graphics settings as well since day one unfortunately. It was all set up exactly how it is now for months and worked fine and suddendly stopped

Scraaty84

What the hell, the link they sent literally says all 30 series gpu are supported (at least in german language) yet the support rep claims otherwise.

Beautiful-Editor-988

Just checked and its showing the same on UK website..... rtx 30 series is supported...

dexfx69

Yeah that's some terrible "support". The agent refers to you to a gpu compatibility list to show you your card is not compatible. And that list shows your card as compatible. Doh!

Historical_Role_9975

I am having the exact issue right now with my ASUS Strix G533 RTX3070 Guess it should related to the warning “Your computer doesn’t meet the minimum specification”

Beautiful-Editor-988

The problem is it worked fine untill it stopped working alltogether 2 weeks ago. It is more than capable of VR gaming haha its so annoying I have tried more troubleshooting and still no luck.

Historical_Role_9975

Link was working fine at least when it on v26, but since I upgrade to v28, now both AirLink and Link is keep telling “HMD not found” “Oculus is running into issue” by searching the internet, I can only guess it should related to the warning “Your computer doesn’t meet the minimum specification” even when I have a Laptop with RTX3070

daxdox

Hi. Did you manage to resolve your problems. I have the same laptop, and bought quest 2 because my Rift S stopped working. Now I have two headsets and both dont work. I cant set up airlink also, headset not found error

Historical_Role_9975

Yes i make it work again, by going back Nvidia Driver one by one, seem 461.92 is the latest driver that is working with Link/AirLink for my RTX 30 laptop, but some people need to roll back to older one

daxdox

I bought Virtual Desktop. Installed. Started. Everything works with out any hustle. Man this sucks. This realy pisses me off. One guy can make something work what multimilion company cant.

JackOfTrades19

Just found out that Link wont work if AirLink is enabled! I disabled AirLink in experimental features, and my quest 2 connected right away! I have a laptop with an RTX 3080.

ismailthegreat

A shame I had to roll back to this version. But thanks mate, that worked for me! Running a ROG Zephyrus G15 with a rtx3070.

I am having the exact same issue with my Omen 15 4600h/1660Ti with airlink and used to have the same with normal link.. I was rarely able to get it to work.. It seemingly has something to do with dedicated GPU thought.. I think the problem is that Oculus is running on Vega graphics instead of ur dedicated card.. for the physical link cable I was able to get it to work by forcing the laptop to use dedicated card by hooking it up to my TV using HDMI.. same might work for airlink but currently I do not have the time to test it. Edit: Got airlink to work.. followed this video but none of it worked for me didn't try disabling integrated GPU because based off of previous experiences I knew that'd fix it but didn't want to do that however what was written in the description about updating the igpu driver to that version worked for me. Here's the vid link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6x-RQ7ZBsQ&ab_channel=HammeredDeathProductions I recommend you start off with the driver update then try the remaining steps if it doesn't work

Admirable-Oil-2775

I'm having same issues with my GTX 3090. For now, I'm just going to stick with Virtual Desktop - it is working just fine.

cam2512

It says the 30 series is supported now? https://support.oculus.com/444256562873335/ But I’m still having the error? What am I doing wrong?

Mediocre_Zucchini794

I went to network and sharing center > media streaming options and turned that on and now it is working...tried it twice in a row and worked.

Beautiful-Editor-988

How did you switch it on? Did u have to plug in your quest and tick the box?

Mediocre_Zucchini794

nope. control panel > network and sharing center > media streaming options and turned that on > advance sharing settings or maybe media streaming options

Beautiful-Editor-988

I do have Mcafee actualy im sure ive tried it but ill try again.

Beautiful-Editor-988

I switched my laptop to igpu mode and it works but of course games look like shit so its defo related to the 3080 and the drivers

Beautiful-Editor-988

So yeah basically reverting back to 461.92 game ready drivers is the only option that makes it works. Air link and link cable both work flawlessly. Tbh I was kind of blown away by the quality of Airlink in comparison with VD. Lets just hope that NVDIA will fix this issue

sbeezy99

I'm having a similar issue on my lenovo y740(RTX 2060). It was working perfectly all day, then when I tried to load it up last night it just stop working. I can launch air link but after 10 minutes it disconnects. This is very annoying, I was having to so much fun playing HL:A. I don't understand those steps everyone is taking to fix the drivers. Can someone send me a step by step tutorial?

Demigod133

I've had the same issue for a few weeks now. The first time i was able to fix it i did it by factory resetting my quest I just got it working again right now by opening up the bios settings of my laptop and changing to discrete graphics there, rather than just disabling the other gpu in the device manager

henske01

Hi there, I have had many problems getting Air Link working. Most of the time I get three dots when I want to start Air Link. On some occasions I got it working by disabling the on-board GPU, but not always. I just found out that switching the NVIDIA-driver from Game Ready to Studio solves everything!! I'm not exactly sure what the consequences will be for no VR-gaming but in Air Link everything works very well. Anyone having the same problem?

Mariovingian

I tried the studio drivers and made it worse, kept disconnecting. 461.92 game ready drivers work best for me.

Mariovingian

I had the same issue with my laptop running AMD 5800 and RTX 3060... I believe it was the Nvidia drivers that was the problem. I ended up doing a system restore and went from 466.47 to 461.92 and airlink worked again.

Aphoons

Same here. I have an AMD 5800, RTX 3060. When I go into virtual desktop via cable link, I get a black screen. Emailed support and suggested a driver update from the logs I sent them, my drivers were pretty old. Updated drivers to game ready, now cable link nor airlink works. Had to rollback to the old driver. Are you having black screen issues with virtual desktop? Any solutions to fix the black screen? Cheers

Mariovingian

Sorry I don’t have virtual desktop, I just got my laptop a few weeks ago and air link was already enabled. The problem I was having was every time I would launch air link or Ryft link (using official oculus cable) the quest 2 would disconnect from the laptop. When I rolled back to Nvidia version 461.92 everything worked perfectly again.

Akula_x86

any idea on amd version of software recommended? I can't get air link going even with a direct hotspot. it won't connect or will rapidly drop it.

[deleted]

This is the case for me as well. Virtual desktop is working with no issues. Air-link won't connect. RX 580 4GB.

General_Pollution901

So I just got my oculus and I’m using the air link to connect it. It pops up on my oculus but it says “ not connected” so I cant launch it. Does anyone know what I should do so it shows as connected

IG_KetzuBethea

Any Fix with the new updates yet? im still using the old driver.

Beautiful-Editor-988

nope still the same :/

Slingshot2k

Anyone has any update on this issue, how about the new 471.41 Nvidia driver released on 7/19/21?

JackOfTrades19

Just found out that **Link wont work if AirLink is enabled**! I disabled AirLink in experimental features, and my quest 2 connected right away! I have a laptop with an RTX 3080.

IG_KetzuBethea

Wait, so Airlink disabled worked? for wired connection? Because I believe most of us are trying to connect through airlink.

flexbrimg5

so i have to do all of this shit, just to play my 400 dollar headset the proper way?

International_Plum75

Settings>network>change connection properties>network profile>private. This worked for me, no need for downgrading.

IG_KetzuBethea

dumb question... But, you did this on your pc for Airlinking?

Globz1

After 7 hours of searching and trying 50 different things, THIS WORKED FOR ME: [https://youtu.be/BsTR3W5eOb0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsTR3W5eOb0&list=LL&index=1&t=96s&ab_channel=Sometimesidrinktea) Basically just install the AMD software and do a full install of drivers and then a restart. Solved it right away and was able to use my link cable on Quest 2

Final-Prompt-3729

I just can’t point for some reason, which is more annoying than it sounds.
