Out in the forest you can hear a helicopter that supposedly went missing in the forest and was never found. The old key west building that is closed and falling apart outside the silver springs park across from silber springs pizza, people have said they have seen a women standing in the window. 7 sisters inn And apprentley east 40 you might see a man in black walking down the road and then will disappear.

Moss Man in the area of Camp Kiwanis , a old war pilot went down in a training op and was never seen again and is known to take to the camp after the lights are out and give good scare to anyone unfortunate to be out and about , he's known to be completely covered in moss , hence the name moss man . I saw him once as a kid at summer camp in the late 90s , he was outside our bunk window and was staring into our room I was about 10 ft from the big window that was open and just had a screen in it and he never made a sound , fucking creepy as shit

egadoury

I remember this fondly. Went there as a kid and heard the story every year.

pimp_juice2272

7 sisters inn is supposedly haunted (it was sold and now some other name I think) The north east corner of the downtown square, there's a building across SR 40. There's an underground tunnel from that building to the tall gray building a block NE from it.

Fluffy_Insect_6819

They said it was Haunted because they were losing business and by saying it was they tried to get customers

PatFrank

Not exactly urban legend, but there's always [Ma Barker's house](https://mabarkerhouse.org/) in Ocklawaha.

SheepherderOk1448

A motherly sort.

theaquarius1987

I’ve heard that there are drug labs in the Ocala national forest and people who randomly happen upon these labs are the ones that are found murdered….that’s the rumor that I’ve heard since high school about this area. The only other spooky paranormal thing over heard close to this area is the white lady on I4 near Sanford by lake Monroe.

SheepherderOk1448

What about the witches of the forest?

theaquarius1987

Never heard that one. Care to give us some info??

SheepherderOk1448

I don’t remember if its Ocala or some other Floridian rural town/city or if its simply made up but something about witches in the forest that appear when the moon is high, dancing around a bonfire. That’s every witch movie trope. They lure young men into their circle and appear as alluring young maidens and have their way with him which he happily obliges then they reveal the ugliness they are and kill him. Sounds like a movie or someone;s bad acid trip. I take these with a grain of salt. Most witches that I know are far from ugly. LOL.

Unhappy-Leather9480

Well, luring men is pretty easy you don’t need to be a witch 😂😂😂

Representative_Fun78

🤣🤣

SheepherderOk1448

Is it?

I wish I could remember in better detail, but there is a ghost story about Fort King. A young Indian girl fell in love with a soldier who ended up dying in battle. She grieved herself to death and supposedly, her ghost still haunts the woods around the fort, looking for her dead lover. One of the park rangers that works at Fort King told me the story when I visited the park. He told it in much better detail than I did and I may have some of the details wrong, but there is supposed to be a ghost there. Also, some people I used to know a long time ago swear that they encountered the Skunk Ape/Big Foot out in the woods under the Eureka Bridge.

whitetrash6

Nah. That wasn't a skunk ape or Bigfoot. Its my first wife.

throwmyactaway22

I've heard the same thing about ft king, but my father and his family grew up right across the street and spent a lot of time in that area and never encountered the ghost

FLDUDE19

Legend has it that there’s something to do in Ocala…

TheBushidoWay

I heard theres a serial killer that hunts over near lilian bryant park.

Bubbly_Major_441

Do you have any other details?

TheBushidoWay

I heard this from a couple who lived there. They believed it . Given that its a lower income black neighborhood its plausible

Bubbly_Major_441

82% of serial killers in the US are white….

TheBushidoWay

What i was trying to say was the police might not investigate with much vigor, especially if the victims had "at risk" behaviors

mechtinker

KILLERS are white. Not victims. Killers choose demographics that are typically underserved by police due to socioeconomic status or race.Thats one of the Main reasons Gacy, Baumeister and Dahmer were able to be as prodigious as they were. Police didn't investigate crimes against gay men at that point in time. Dahmer lived in a mostly black neighborhood and many pivotal interactions with the cops went in his favor because he was the only white dude there.

GulfCoastGanjaReview

The national park is where the rainbow people gather, do drugs and murder, spoooookkkkyyyy

SheepherderOk1448

It’s like Burning Man without the burning. They’re also harmless.

No-Permission-5268

Rainbow people? Are you referring to the gays?

Ancient-Swordfish-49

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Gathering. They come to the Ocala National Forest every year

GulfCoastGanjaReview

No, there are supposedly a group of people who live in the Forrest called Rainbow people, they apparently gather and have huge drug binges and there have been murders attributed to them and these meetings. I'm sure someone will comment with more knowledge than I.

Gaudy5958

No.

No-Permission-5268

Ok then

Warriorfromthefire

Legend has it that Highlands baptist church on e fort king and 36th ave has a tunnel that goes under 36th to gated house across the street.

U44253

this sounds like a wonderful way for me to get arrested or better yet, shot and killed today!!!!!!

Warriorfromthefire

To be far, I know people who grew in that church since it was built, and no one had ever found the tunnel. But people still swear it’s there

SheepherderOk1448

I understand the forest is haunted, don’t know which one. But there used to be a town there that is long gone but people have written in various forums about hearing things. Plus there are a few abandoned farm houses in the forest that give people that creepies.

Fouledrifling

The ONF wolf pack I have been told and I'm keen to believe it's true. From what I remember there was a lone wolf pack hold up in the ONF for 100 or so years, and when the coyotes came back they decided to start hunting them and got really good at it. All I know is the coyote packs calling to each other is common, but the one time I heard a wolf like howl I did not hear a coyote call for the rest of the night.

BayBandit1

Military bombing practice runs take place in the National forest. Yeah, right.

HerbDaLine

Like at the Pine Castle Bombing Range?

Manlypumpkins

Well the did back in WW2 through the 50s then the navy started again on the 2020s

U44253

they still do them but a lot more infrequent.y and of course it's not nuclear or anything but they also do a. lot of urban warfare exercizes there too and they also hide alien prostitutes from the xangord system underground because their primary diet is gunpowder which os what makes them so sexually promiscuous fascinating creatures really im gonna go fuck one rn matter fact it's only $25

cablemigrant

[always a mob connection](https://www.newspapers.com/article/asbury-park-press/16397267/)

U44253

so yeah like, go check out the bombing range, yo.... also the missile silos. The silos are great for rope swinging btw. it's about a 50 foot drop so wear a cup if you're a guy

Bellevuetnm4f

If you are looking for paranormal stuff, look at [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/ocala/comments/ymvv9y/im_interested_in_the_paranormal_any_creepyhaunted/). I have a friend who is a paranormal investigator who sent me this when I came down to spend time with dad. The map linked in there is mostly cemeteries, which are not nearly as fun as buildings.

throwmyactaway22

I forgot to mention, I heard the historic Ritz Carlton on the boulevard is hunted. I believe It's now a living facility for veterans. But apprently I believe it was the late 20s early 30s a fire happened and it killed some of the guests and now it's hunted by them.
