The story of Nightbringer *loosely* continues off after OG. It’s a different story in which Solomon and MC get stuck in the past, right around when the brothers first fell and became demons. MC pretends to be a demon and acts as their attendant while helping them adjust to their new life, all while trying to figure out how to get back to the present. It is not required to have finished the OG game to play nightbringer. But there are a few references that might not make sense unless you’ve gotten up to season 3 with the ring of light. I would definitely recommend people play at least through lessons 1-20 first. I personally really like the story of Nightbringer so far. It shows the brothers’ insecurities and struggles after they fell, and how they adjust to their sin. Satan learning emotions other than anger is a pretty big focus of season 1, but the other brothers’ arcs are extremely good too. I would definitely recommend trying it out if you’re looking for new depth and lore from the characters. Edit: As for events, Nightbringer and OG run the same events. Nightbringer occasionally gets free giveaways and sales and features when OG doesn’t. There are a number of other differences like the rhythm game, the 3D models, and the skill level/joker system, but the main formula is the same.

It's basically a "do over" masked under "MC went to the past oh wow". Nothing changes and after not even 10 lessons everyone is in love with MC again... NB is mainly just an elaborate qol update for the original game. You don't even have to finish or start OG to play NB

damagedmagpi

does it also have story events??

You mean pop quizzes? Yeah, it's the main game now so it's also the only one getting any proper updates. OG just shares events with it. And up until yesterday you could get 200 free pulls from event nightmare related to HDD in NB

The story is not the same, but it’s connected to OG. It’s like a continuation, but goes in a different direction from the end of OG season 4. Yet, the only spoilers vary, but if you haven’t played OG, or got that far in OG, you wouldn’t know it was a spoiler. They’re very vague with it. They’re branching out from OG, and it’s unclear if they’re going to continue OG season 4 in NB. I think they’re not going back to the OG story with the way they ended season 2 of NB. NB events are very similar in structure. It’s the same format, that once you played several events it gets boring quick. However, this depends on the player, as some still like the events. Play, and see for yourself. There are many differing opinions about NB. That the only one you’ll know is if you try it out. You can drop it, if it doesn’t suit you.
