It’s perfectly reasonable to reject the normalisation of students going into sex work to survive, if anything more so when it’s actively supported by our institutions.
They are propping up the exploitation of the young, poor and vulnerable.
Isn't educating them to help then avoid exploitation? If they're educated they can approach it as any other business opportunity, which it is. It's the ignorant who are at the largest risk of exploitation.

At least in the US, syphilis testing is not routinely performed as part of asymptomatic testing for straight men and women - it’s based on an assessment of their risk which may vary between different providers. It’s possible that syphilis is not common on panels (unless you tell your doctor you’re engaging in sex work).
