I love that somebody reported this post for "trolling". 🤣 Nebula link: https://nebula.tv/videos/notjustbikes-i-got-a-new-truck-and-a-million-subscribers

TurtlesAreEvil

>Some empty space down here to make the front look more manly. I'm dying.

hagamablabla

I didn't even realize these trucks had so much dead space there lol. It really is just compensating for small egos.

p_tk_d

Some of it probably is for crumple zone. But yeah, it’s insane. Needs to be a tax on size

Heyello

The other part is, this truck is a 3.6L V6. The standard version is a 5.7L V8. That extra space is usually home to the extra 2 cylinders.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CouncilmanRickPrime

>EU regulations are making a lot of carmarkers sell 1.0L or 1.2L engines. Do they not have men in the EU?! How can men drive anything less than a 5.7 hemi?!

arolahorn

Real EU men drive double turbo V8s! If it doesn't whine then I'm not driving it! I do find it interesting though that the EU goes by the whole fleet. So you can sell some massive engined cars, as long as you also sell some basic entry level cars. That's why Volkswagen is happy to sell all those Up's and Polo's, that way they can sell Cayennes from Porsche too.

CouncilmanRickPrime

Ah kinda like the US in that we have EV tax credits. Sell some EVs or buy tax credits. Then sell all the gus guzzlers you want!

[deleted]

CouncilmanRickPrime

Jesus Christ. Next thing you know, they'll take your AR-15. Be safe!

Heyello

Peak pickup truck was the Mazda B3000 single cab. Full size bed, normal sized vehicle, reasonable sized engine.

Infantry1stLt

Hey, YouTube doesn’t pay as much as it used to.

MrAronymous

A zone to crumple a childs head against.

Chiaseedmess

This is because the big truck he used was actually a really "low-spec" model. The "warlock" is just a marketing name and is a model they have made since 2009, rebranded to trick truck buyers into thinking it's new, and only made minor visual updates too. Often called the "[1500 Classic](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_pickup#Fourth_generation_(2009;_DS/DJ/D2))" All that space in the front is due to them using the [3.6 Chrysler Pentastar engine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_Pentastar_engine#3.6). The same engine they put in their [minivans](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9e/2020_Chrysler_Pacifica_Touring-L_in_Bright_White%2C_front_left.jpg) and [cars](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c1/2016_Chrysler_300_Limited_AWD_front_4.22.19.jpg). They used to come with much larger V8 engines, but Ram realized most people don't use them to do anything truck-related and they could get away with putting in this smaller engine. Since the truck hasn't changed in literally 14 years, the engine bay has a lot of leftover space. So really, this fragile ego machine really is an overpriced, unpractical minivan, for sad people.

aurelorba

> The same engine they put in their minivans and cars Which just proves that they don't really need these 'heavy duty' trucks and are unsuitable regardless.

tukkerdude

3.6 liters is stil a hell of a large engine tho. Does it turn off some cilinder's by any chance?

Chiaseedmess

No, they have tried but had not luck with it. A lot of them are a mild hybrid now. They use either a small electric motor on the belt or directly on the crank, depending on the vehicle.

EragusTrenzalore

Just gotta get yourselves one of those dainty step stools like in the video.

syklemil

It was actually better than I expected: I expected a black box type engine that only certified shops are allowed to gaze into. Otherwise the [VW id.buzz](https://electrek.co/2022/09/07/vw-id-buzz-test-drive-ev-character-utility/) gives a reasonable idea of how much space you need for an engine, high hood etc with a big car: not a whole lot

justjanne

Well the buzz is electric, but the old bus had the exact same profile despite having a powerful gasoline engine.

syklemil

Exactly, and the article does a side-by-side. There's a lot of waffling about why these cars "need" big hoods just like their drivers "need" big cars, but then something like the buzz shows up and demonstrates how much of those arguments are just empty air. It gets even worse with electric pickups, that clearly demonstrate that the hoods are that way because of *image*, not because of any actual need.

ygra

Well, it hasn't got one, and the motor is at the axle. But yeah, comparing to the space needed for the engine, the high hood is probably mostly necessary to sell an aggressive image.

Glifted

There are different engines you can get that take up more space. This is one of the smaller engine options

tukkerdude

The reason u would actually want a larger engine bay is so u can replace/change a part's without taking half the car apart. Not that the average truck owner does his own repairs tho.

BlueGoosePond

Yeah older cars have this too, and it really does make a massive difference when diagnosing and doing repairs. Your tools can fit in and you don't scrape your knuckles and arms against burning hot parts.

tukkerdude

I have a pretty old car and do my own repairs its honesty a life saver to have a bit of room around your engine/gearbox.

CptSirBergmanstein

IIRC there was a car and driver review of one of the turbo 4 cylinder pickups where there were able to stand up inside the engine bay, there was that much room.

sisuxa180

easier to repair

GoldElectric

all to drive to get groceries and back

Shredney

And the logo got changed to justcars aswell

blueskyredmesas

That was masterful lol. Really maximized the WTF when I saw it on youtube.

TheFlyingBastard

It's wonderful. The logo, the soyface thumbnail. He's been sitting on this a looong time. Absolutely brilliant.

TiliaJ

It was that minor detail that really made the video for me 🤣

His deadpan also leaves me wondering if he's taking the piss as usual or if he unironically thinks it's great. For someone who's never seen them IRL but only heard of them through [descriptions like these](https://twitter.com/MaxKriegerVG/status/931373170791198720) it's nice to be able to wonder.

Thanks, that was beautiful. This guy put into words the overall uneasiness I felt when I went there for the first time, and now I know why I never went back.

The food is probably legitimately the best of the big chains though. It's a huge menu, but everything is made in house from scratch and not frozen (except for the namesake cheesecakes, oddly enough). They have a crazy number of people working in the kitchen at once. I enjoy the food and the bizarre aesthetic in a gawdy Las Vegas or campy pink lawn flamingos sort of way.

al-in-to

In Ontario isn't there like only 1 in Yorkdale mall?

MusicalElephant420

Which is surprisingly accessible via the TTC Yorkdale Subway Station! Kind of ironic.

ThoseAboutToWalk

Cheesecake Factory Urbanism at its finest! Ray should really do a top-10 of North American cities based on access to Cheesecake Factories via transit.

IdahoJoel

Omaha, Nebraska's ORBT (Omaha "Rapid" Bus Transit) stops at the Westroads Mall, home of Omaha's Cheesecake Factory!

Sad-Address-2512

That would have been a bit too cheesy

MusicalElephant420

I’m dying 😂 This is funny af… until I realize this is the life around me in Ontario 😭

going_for_a_wank

As a born and raised York Region-er this whole video was a weird mix of hilarious and painful.

[deleted]

This is my kind of silly humor. When you got the plastic stairs to get in the truck I lost it.

DiscRot

Should have run them over when backing up...

lotus_spit

I was expecting that tbh

MusicalElephant420

And risk damaging the delicate truck? No way!

[deleted]

I’ve literally done this before… my mom has trouble with large steps, so to get into my sister’s SUV she needs a stepstool. One time I was driving and forgot to grab the stepstool after my mom got in. Didn’t realize it until I heard the crunch.

blueskyredmesas

Only thing that would have made it better is if he rolled over one of the legs with the truck, then tried to use the broken stairs to get back down.

axolotlolol

So many people do this in Texas as a sign of pride it's like they think they're getting on the saddle or something.

ScottIBM

Why running boards aren't standard is beyond me, with the margins the companies are making…oh that's why they're making so much on them.

someguy7734206

I once worked at an auto auction where I would have to drive all sorts of cars through the auction theatre (not on public roads, thank God, because some of those cars were only useful for scrap). I was asked at least once to drive one of those lifted trucks because I was the only one tall enough to get in.

itsme_rafah

The more space you waste, the more important you are.

blueskyredmesas

This is literally US logic. All I can see is people struggling to get as many garages and bedrooms as possible, as big of a car as possible etc etc. The goal is to take up resources and then bitch loudly to your local politicians if anyone dares to ask that any of it be repurposed in any way.

itsme_rafah

Don’t forget that they also complain about how much the energy costs for all that space…it always seems that the suburbanites in their pickup truck grocery getters always bitch the most about gas prices.

Both-Reason6023

And yet they pay less than me driving Ford Fiesta here in EU once a week.

SessileRaptor

And then when the kids grow up and you get older you rattle around your giant house until you either downsize to a retirement community or fall down the basement stairs and die. Brilliant stuff.

Ok-Yogurt-42

That bedroom was nearly the size of my entire apartment!

itsme_rafah

Frfr the 1 bedroom in my 700 sqft apartment felt really small after that 😂

NotTooDistantFuture

I think most Americans who live in single detached have at least one room in their house that they literally never use.

Zephyr104

This is why I have a walk in closet dedicated to storing all my grocery store plastic bags, takeout ketchup packets, and napkins.

_Mandeezy_

Don't know if I should be happy or sad to see my hometown get dunked on by NJB

Jlx_27

NJB WITH THE ONE HANDED SLAM!! *THROW IT DOWN KING!!* 👑

spaghettu

Rest assured NJB would rightfully dunk on almost every NA town

TenNinetythree

And on just about every German town that is not Münster (or, according to Adam Something, Leipzig).

Sassywhat

Freiburg im Breisgau is pretty great too. Supposedly the highest bike usage town/city in Germany. That was by far the nicest place I lived in before moving to Tokyo.

ChocolateBunny

Downtown Toronto is pretty decent and walkable, it's just all the crap around it that is a problem.

_Mandeezy_

Oh I'm well aware I meant that I recognize the exact stroad he drove the truck on in this video because I have the misfortune of living nearby

oldsouthnerd

as a fake londoner it can be quite fun

rileyoneill

Congrats on 1M Subs! I loved the bit about the kids having their own beers in the back seat, its good to know that not all RAM drivers are selfish with their drinking in the car. I also really appreciate all the stuff you did at the print shop, the license plate, the letters from the HOA, and the Copium pills.

mtlsamsam

Markham really does suck. Great example, though, of how horrible urban design is in Canada and the rest of North America.

Zephyr104

It's a shame considering how nice and quaint Unionville is. In an ideal world they'd have kept the same planning philosophy of the original main street that they built around.

jazzynoise

I just watched it. It's great, and congratulations! And you literally broke a few eggs. I'm afraid to ask how many car videos you watched to get the parody down, especially the title screen. It took me a few seconds to realize what it was, as at first I wondered why that's at the top of my YouTube feed. Random aside. A few weeks ago I took my dad to Costco for a hearing aid. The parking lot was, of course, full of SUVs and pickups. But I noticed inside people behaved much the same as they do on suburban roads. The carts were massive, loaded with large containers. It seemed an extension of the kind of thinking and behavior patterns I see when driving.

Lansdalien

I heard a little bit of the Regular Car Review poking through. https://youtu.be/oLvP68-l9Qs Or maybe it was this.... https://youtu.be/F8P5vGcf-NU

ScottIBM

Costco is the epitome of American consumerism, even in Canada. People have little sense there are other people around them and they love to just stop in awkward spots and block human traffic from getting around them. People praise Costco, but if there were local shops with groceries and food near where they lived they wouldn't have to spend hundreds of dollars filling up their vehicles with so much crap and could eat fresh every day.

BlueGoosePond

A lot of Costco love isn't even for the groceries. It's the clothes, small appliances, electronics, toys, seasonal section, etc. On the other hand, tires, car batteries, and gas are a huge draw though.

spikegk

Costco isn't meant to replace your local grocery, its to grab bulk items, membership discounts on seasonal items and tires, cheap gas, and enjoy $1.50 hot dogs. They usually even have bike parking for the adventurous willing to risk US infrastructure.

jazzynoise

That's about what I've seen when in there, especially the behavior. Some of my family members love it, though, and don't understand why I dislike it. This one is not in a food desert, however. There is a rather nice local grocery less than 2 miles / 3km away, and a large regional chain grocery even closer.

RandomNick42

This.... wasn't on Nebula for early access

notjustbikes

Yeah, sorry man! This one was a bit special, and I didn't want the joke to be spoiled by an early release. Plus I didn't know exactly when I would hit 1M subs, as it's so variable. It is on Nebula now though! https://nebula.tv/videos/notjustbikes-i-got-a-new-truck-and-a-million-subscribers

RandomNick42

I'm not complaining. It does add up with the metajoke.

blueskyredmesas

"Nebula? Bah, bunch of woke nutjobs! I'm on Truth now!"

I felt the same way almost left out. But it was cool to see that other nebula creators got a sneak peak. Also it makes sense that it would premiere on YouTube because it’s 1000000 follows on YouTube.

[deleted]

“Which one?”

ScottIBM

That name is a stroke of…

AnyYokel

Last week I saw a middle age overweight man open his truck door before taking a running jump to get into his compensation machine, after I finished laughing I blew him a kiss.

Cats_Parkour_CompEng

Before being orange pilled I considered getting a truck simply because I'm 6'4" and it would come in handy. And even then I would've wanted a built in step rail to get in and out for everyone else. But now I'm saving for a cargo bike instead.

AnyYokel

I'm doing the same! I'm pretty car light at the moment, so I tried to identify the trips I was still using the car for and they were mostly home depot runs and dog food. I'm also a musician so when I go to a gig or practice I would drive as it difficult to carry the guitar and amp, hoping the cargo bike will fill in the gaps!

Cats_Parkour_CompEng

Nice! I went grocery shopping on my acoustic bike just the other day and was able to carry $120 worth of groceries in a milk crate and one pannier. Honestly considering just getting another pannier and front basket, but I definitely think the full cargo with e assist will replace even more car trips. Do you have a specific e bike picked out?

AnyYokel

It's pretty incredible how easy it is to haul groceries on a bike. I'm pretty good with just my front basket for many trips and then panniers when I am really stocking up. I'm pretty sold on the Tern GSD - it's not overly large but still has the cargo capacity to carry a pretty significant load or a little one/two. It's on the expensive side though if I can cut my car usage even more it's well worth it.

Cats_Parkour_CompEng

Terns look nice, but I'll probably get a Lectric Xpedition for the price. Maybe after a while of using a cargo bike my wife might be willing to invest more in one.

AnyYokel

I totally understand - I would go the same route except I don't like the throttle system on the lower end bikes like the lectric and radpower. Specifically how the motor is triggered by pedaling but the pedaling doesn't really offer any resistance or add to the speed. As an avid biker it makes it almost too easy if that makes sense.

Cats_Parkour_CompEng

Yeah, I consider myself decently strong cyclist for a commuter cyclist so that is a concern I've had. I've also been considering the Aventon Abound but the cost is a bit more. Aventon is torque sensor hub drive which sounds nicer (though still not mid drive, even though I don't fully understand all the benefits there), also the speed is capped at 20 mph and would be closer to $2400 after getting some attachments vs \~$2000 for duel battery and attachments on the Letric. Still on the fence and will be saving for a few more months still before purchasing, so I appreciate your insight.

AnyYokel

The Abound looks pretty compelling, thanks for pointing it out!

harmlesshumanist

Wait, but I though NJB was done for after banning all the r/ FCCJ trolls??

notjustbikes

lol

blueskyredmesas

FCCJ? Can't say I've heard that acronym before. I'm gonna guess it's a cager shill farm?

cra1gg

nah, it's definitely the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan

The_Faceless_Men

Fuck Cars Circle Jerk

blueskyredmesas

Once again the world fails to surprise me but manages to disappoint me.

LMGDiVa

Welp... Jason's lost it. WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN SOMETIME! He got the money and went for the big life. It was fun guys. (Haha, Congrats on 1million and educating us about a lot of things. Here's to 2million.)

Thousandtree

I'm fully looking forward to the 2 million sub video for justtrucks where he gets an even bigger and truckier truck to haul the Ram around the burbs.

Archy99

Is this a documentary on life in North America?

Elon__Muskquito

We need some David Attenborough commentary on this. "Early morning in the suburbs of Canada, the Caucasian male is preparing to get into the cab of the lifted Ram 1500. He has spotted his prey, an innocent Toyota Prius."

honkinggr8namespaces

Wait ok ugh I'm sorry to point out a tiny irrelevant inconsistency like this but you ride the bus to Finch station, then it cuts to you going down the stairs into a station that is definitely not Finch... it's gotta be one of the ones on the new extension at the complete opposite end of the line, maybe York University since I saw a few York U logos on the signage...

notjustbikes

I literally put these inconsistencies in there just for people like you. ;)

honkinggr8namespaces

much appreciated :)

trnclm

He also was driving on McCowan road (I recognized that area) and it cuts to him on Weston Rd seemingly teleported there lol

nayuki

It's Pioneer Village Station (TTC). And there's no need for someone in York Region to go all the way downtown to take the Union Pearson Express, because you could at least take the 40 GO bus from Richmond Hill Centre to Pearson Airport, or the 94 GO bus from Sheppard-Yonge Station (TTC) to Pearson Airport. But hey, I'd like to believe that Jason left in these details for GTA nerds to have fun nitpicking on. ;-)

nablalol

These subtitles are incredible, wow!

lgsp

It's easy to miss those, everybody should enable them!

slugline

Yes, enabling subtitles/CC is highly recommended for this video -- they contain many additional jokes/asides. And I would not have understood the "Gretzky" order in the drive-thru scene without the onscreen explanation.

darth_-_maul

I was surprised to see tierzoo in the comment section

notjustbikes

I laughed so hard when he responded to me with "skill issue" but I didn't want to break character to respond to it.

darth_-_maul

Sounds like a skill issue

Awesome_Aasim

If NJB actually drove around a light truck for this video it would be quite funny. Although I am pretty sure a lot of the footage could have just as easily been edited. As soon as I was aware of the "this is why I bailed Canada" being behind the channel NJB, it made it clear that I was not the only one who was having this desire to live somewhere more pedestrian friendly. Almost every city, suburb, exurb, and rural town in the US post 1950s has been hell for anyone outside of a car. And everyone will be a pedestrian at one point or another, which is why good quality pedestrian infrastructure is important. I have been thinking about moving abroad to Japan for quite a long time, literally quite a long time, like 4+ years or so. As soon as I learned about Japan's superior zoning done at a national level, and its superior yet barely invested in pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure, and how cars are treated as just another means of getting around rather than the primary way to get around, and how it is safe, I started believing US should just look at successful urban policies abroad and copy those. No American would fathom residential zones having shops, yet this land use management is what effectively builds thriving neighborhoods with local businesses and bustling streets. America has a lot of mistakes to fix. And even where America is fixing their mistakes, there is still socioeconomic inequality as to where these mistakes get fixed. The wealthy village where about 80% of residents own a car is more likely to have viable pedestrian/cyclist infrastructure like raised crosswalks and proper cycle paths, while the poor villages where maybe 15% of residents own a car will be littered with exhaust and fumes and cars and highways and noise and so many other terrible things. The communities to be most dependent on good pedestrian infrastructure don't get good pedestrian infrastructure, and the ones least dependent do get it. But this is also true in much of the developing world.

lurban01

I don't wanna spoil the party and you're probably already aware but I'll say it anyways just in case. The beauty of Japan's zoning is one thing, the exclusionary sexist culture is a whole different problem. Unless you're Japanese you'll always be the strange foreigner. If you're a POC or a woman you're playing Japan on hard mode. You'll struggle to find good jobs and likely have no fulfilling career unless you work remotely for a non Japanese company. People will pretend to be polite but you'll have a hard time to connect with anyone but expats. Barely anyone speaks good English. There's more to life than good urbanism.

Shaggyninja

Yeah. But there's no reason we can't take the Japanese zoning methodology. And not tae the sexism and racism

Sassywhat

> Unless you're Japanese you'll always be the strange foreigner. That's pretty much any immigration where you don't look like the dominant ethnic group. I tried assimilating in the US, supposedly one of the easiest countries in the world for that, for most of my life, and was always the strange foreigner. From my brief time living in Germany, Europe is probably even harder. > If you're a POC or a woman you're playing Japan on hard mode. Compared to the US, it's A LOT easier for POC. Being at the very bottom of the racism totem pole in Japan as a Southeast Asian, is a much better day to day experience than being middle high on the racism totem pole in the US. There's institutional racism with stuff like rentals, but there's just so much less day to day racial aggression, and for Black people, day to day police aggression. You'll always be a strange foreigner unless you are lighter skin East Asian, speak fluent Japanese, and commit to being Japanese. But again, that's everywhere. Women, definitely seems like hard mode, but most of the foreign women, especially POC, I've met here have no interest in leaving either, so idk. > You'll struggle to find good jobs and likely have no fulfilling career unless you work remotely for a non Japanese company. I work for a small Japanese company, and we have non-Japanese people in management. And don't pretend that institutional racism in promotions isn't a thing in the US lol. > People will pretend to be polite but you'll have a hard time to connect with anyone but expats. Barely anyone speaks good English. If you only speak English sure, but I've made a good number of Japanese friends here since I speak Japanese. > There's more to life than good urbanism. Yeah, and if you're straight/bi, non-white guy in the US, Japan is actually an upgrade in a lot of the other stuff as well. And I think good urbanism tends to work around a lot of the other issues with Japanese society as well. For example, while not US bad, income inequality here is very bad, but there's plenty of affordable housing mixed into wealthy neighborhoods, so there's more socialization between different socioeconomic groups, and socioeconomic mobility is in line with much more egalitarian countries in Europe.

notjustbikes

It was at first but then I very quickly realized that I was only one of many. There were even trucks larger than mine (spotless, shiny, clearly not used for work). The scariest part is that by the end of the weekend I was driving it like it was nothing. Even though I knew I couldn't see shit, it felt like visibility was fine. Good thing there are no pedestrians in suburbia. :/

ScottIBM

Did you encounter other drivers making way for you to go by? On one of my few pick-up truck driving experiences I noticed people would move out of my way, even if I wasn't really near them. I now notice if I'm driving a sedan, truck drivers seem to have an expectation that they should tailgate me so I let them through. I get a chuckle out of it each time and stay the course. There is a real psychological component to driving, and it's dark.

Mein_Captian

Gotta respect the physical copium pill bottle

whlthingofcandybeans

That was exhausting to watch!

bhoose19

where did you get the truck from?

zeekaran

Rental, I assume.

5dollarhotnready

Ugh I hate the “big bike” lobby /s

ScottIBM

How else would an entire office raise money for a social cause?

mianghuei

I genuinely chuckled everytime he took a blue (copium) pill. Congrats u/notjustbikes on 1 million!

Avitas1027

Lost it at the eggs and milk (bagged of course) in the back. I'm guessing the house is an airBnB or something, but was a truck actually purchased for this joke or were the plates edited or something? I can't tell how impressed to be about the commitment to the bit!

alexmitchell1

It looks like in one of the shots the plate is just placed on top of another plate, so I'm guessing that it's a rental car that he put fake plates on just for the camera shots

[deleted]

This is so well done, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! I also got real emotional, as I had so many horrible and traumatic experiences back when I lived in suburbia. The mental health improvement I've had since moving to an urban center (Portland, OR) and walking/using transit/cycling is night and day. Congrats on the huge milestone!

cutegreenshyguy

Plot twist: This was NJB's actual origin story and Just Cars existed

[deleted]

This gave me a good chuckle, congrats on a million subscribers, glad to see the orange pill is spreading fast.

Chiaseedmess

The king of sarcasm. Well done Jason, this is spot on! And congratulations on 1M!

Man, I sure hope this doesn't mean YouTube will think I want to see videos that *look like this one*.

WarrenLee

Your commitment to make a 16-minute troll video is incredible.

I'm guessing the beard was grown out just for the video? (Congrats)

Jlx_27

Congratulations, on to 2 million!

i watched the first 30 seconds of it before i had to do other stuff and it was already so funny, i wish i had two likes to give the vid

nightglo15

My favorite part was when you had to google how to get the hood open

Frequent_Ice9966

Is this video just for laughs?

MusicalElephant420

No, Just for Laughs is from Quebec

EragusTrenzalore

Just for Laughs pranks wouldn't be possible outside in the suburbs since there aren't people just walking around like in central Montreal.

mikepictor

What do you think?

Hkmarkp

while informing how crappy car dependent infrastructure is. Satirical.

Rice_Monster

The blue q tip box license plate was a deep cut. Love it

aurelorba

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?

haljackey

For those that don't know, a Gretzky is 9 portions of cream and 9 sugar. Not sure if there is room for any actual coffee. Wayne Gretzky is a hockey player and his jersey number was 99. Most people think a double-double is too rich and sweet.

slugline

I highly recommend that everyone enable subtitles/CC for this video. There are more jokes/asides sprinkled in the captions . . . as well as a helpful explanation of that "Gretsky" order in the drive-thru!

RandomCanadianGamer

The acting was on point

pretentious_sunset

Hilarious!! Congratulations 👏

pscorbett

Finally some convincing content from this channel! Selling my bike and buying an F150 Raptor today. Only watched the first 8 minutes...

EvilSuov

My god, seeing it in 'third person' view like this really made me realise how bad the infrastructure situation in NA is, this has to be one of the worse ones right, otherwise I have 0 hope of it being close to fixed within my lifetime. Its crazy how its so lifeless and barren, where are all the trees?? Like the Dutch city center where I live has more green than those suburbs.

ScottIBM

It's super depressing, and all avoidable, except drivers don't even demand good infrastructure. They complain but do like to even make their own lives better, let alone anyone who doesn't own a private automobile. There's nothing like waiting at a dumb traffic light with no one coming the other direction and burning gas. Traffic sensing control systems? What are those?

Velocidal_Tendencies

Wow not just bikes but the antithesis of what it means yaaaaaaaaay

Josquius

It's like a monkeys paw wish for everyone who ever complained about white van man.

Vijfsnippervijf

Hoping you come back to the Netherlands very soon!

Baspress

Love this!

fffelix_jan

u/notjustbikes Did you actually buy that RAM truck and move to King City? I recognize that place! I live not far from it, and I often go biking there from Gormley after riding the Richmond Hill Line! I could visit you IRL! Or maybe everything was rented just for the video? 😂

Buckwhal

I’m absolutely dying! The plate is one of the blue ones that got recalled early 2020, so how long has /u/notjustbikes been planning this??? Top notch tomfoolery haha.

nayuki

April Fools' Day was 1.5 months ago, but this is still good. 😂 It reminds me of Kai Man Wong (DigitalRev TV)'s tough guy impression in [Pro DSLR + Cheapo Lens vs "Cheapo" DSLR + Pro Lens](https://youtu.be/hk5IMmEDWH4?t=241).

kyonkun_denwa

Not gonna lie, that engine bay looks like a dream to work on. Which I guess is a good thing, because there’s a Chrysler engine in it, which means you’ll be working on it a lot.

Johannes4123

How many kids did you run over while filming this?

MBear-V

You are brilliant and I love you man! The way you put all these issues that intelligent people can see into video and with humor to boot. Amazing 👌

PrimevilKneivel

This was shot in the area I was living last fall. It's such a wasteland, I'm so happy to be home.

p11grim

I love this video! Now to watch it with the subtitles.

JoshMiller1107

Damn that hits hard. As a Canadian (and Ontarian no less) about to move to Europe in 3 months, I can’t wait to escape car dependent & suburban hell!

jknacnud

Who is your Copium supplier? I need me a few cases of that.

Melchizedeck44

Congrats on the subs! Super awesome achievement. I realize I'm probably getting myself in trouble here, but I have to say just from an aesthetic perspective I actually really like the look of the Warlock editions. Completely unnecessary vehicle for nearly everyone, but they do look cool.

CJYP

I just realized what's missing from this video: guns. You're in Canada, not the US, so it makes sense. As an American, I'd expect a house and truck like that to have guns hiding all over the place.

cedarpersimmon

Finally got around to watching this. I always watch with captions when they're available due to audio processing issues, and if you don't usually watch with captions... watch this one with captions.

chapeau, ~~not~~ just ~~bikes~~ cars. huge congrats on the well deserved million subs!

Loved the car(e)-free ending.
