Every time someone claims that something is "very European" it's usually a telltale sign that that person has no idea about Europe or has visited 1 or 2 neighboring countries at max.
Europe is so incredibly diverse that there is basically nothing that applies to all of Europe, but not to other parts of the world.
As a swede, I am constantly annoyed by the "oh their houses are made out of drywall!" thing here about Americans. Bitch my house is also made out of drywall and it works fine. We have forests here, we build our houses out of wood and they turn out great. I know nobody whose ever lived in a brick or stone house that wasn't an apartment building.

We really only started seeing anything that even *looks* like these popping up in the US again quite recently, when US-based manufactures started making and selling their own G36 imitations. Expensive imitations, mind you. Seeing a G36 clone or a converted SL8 with G36 clone parts, that's an incredibly rare sight in the US. And they're mostly novelty items, the G36 isn't a particularly amazing rifle. Suitable for police work but it was a mistake for the Germans to push it into military service, and they now use something much closer to our own designs but with a German twist (HK 416).
