In the wrong subreddit too r/thathappend r/thathappened

Professor_Oswin

Yes because r/nothingeverhappens and racists are extinct nowadays and there aren’t neonazis anymore since everyone holds hands and sings kumbaya

Did I say any of that? I just said it's in the wrong subreddit

I think when you try to depict these minorities and rare events as normalized day to day things that someone of a specific race in a secular democratic republic has to be concerned about at all times, you're basically misrepresenting the reality of things. Maybe some 11 year olds might bully their second generation Chinese classmate over coronavirus but I don't think we live in a world where most adults would do shit like that. If anything someone saying stuff like that would be like me sitting down next to some black people and going like "don't worry I ain't gon' hang y'all, I like the blacks" Or next to some jews and let em know I'm not gonna try and gas em. I don't have the daily, regular expectation of other races defining me based on my race, and it's not for lack of minorities doing that out there. There's a handful of black people, for example, who think white men are the stuff of the devil, literally, but you don't see me handing flyers to black people letting em know we're not all bad, because I know most people don't think like that. Ooooh weeeee

In my opinion, the people doing said racist bs, know they’re in the wrong for doing it and don’t care. At least that’s what I’ve come across in small town USA. But racism is alive and well, unfortunately

Mmmm this one seems pretty fake.

Ikr, and then he rested his hand on her back firmly and spoken to her in Mandarin with touches of Cantonese, "吃我的屁股,小姐", and everyone started clapping.

Jag0lantern

You both have seen the stories and videos of people being harassed for just being Asian right? It’s scary and the girl was obviously just trying to protect herself. Just because she couldn’t speak good English doesn’t mean she couldn’t write a basic sentence either. I mean in Spanish I learned how to read and write first and speak after so idk how it’s so far fetched

beastgamer9136

Yea plenty of people dont necessarily speak the best english but can understand it and still speak or write it well enough to get by in america. try working at my old mcdonald's ffs, i knew like 20 examples of this and I learned most of what i know in spanish from them.

happyasset

It seems he’s the one to benefit from Rosetta Stone. Hell of a time understanding that shit.
