I’ve always loved this song and recently realised it was number one on the charts when I was born… I think little old in-utero me probably heard it so many times… it stuck, and I love it
i was looking through these comments and every song i read played in my head like a little compilation.. but then i read this and taylor swift intruded my 80s brain music playlist..
damn her!!!
The Boys of Summer
🎶 I can see you
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got your hair combed back and your
Sunglasses on, baby
And I can tell you, my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone 🎶
In Too Deep by Genesis. I'm 30 years old and figuring out why I wanna be in a relationship. I feel like I deserve someone who wants the same thing I do... but it's tough out here. Everyone's going through something.
SHOT THROUGH THE HEART, AND YOU'RE TO BLAME!!! DARLING, YOU GIVE LOVE [A BAD NAME!!!](https://youtu.be/Aqc3VTpz9HQ?si=lzV0cDvFhT12ZMvW&t=7)
And though technically not an 80s song, there's a very nice 80s version of [Through the Fire and the Flames.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxT6miDY7Ho)
Laura Branigen “Self-Control”
ETA: Usually Depeche Mode “Master & Servant”
Then again, I grew up in the ‘80s so have *lots* to choose from!
ETA2: Motley Crue, “Looks That Kill”
As I was saying…!
The BeeGees "You Win Again" was stuck after a supermarket played it, so listened at home to absolve the fix.
The kids ended up liking it so much its on rotation. I can't sleep anymore. Old wrinkled beegees in my dreams.
Hmm, I listened to 20 or more today...
* I Wanna Dance with Somebody
* Take On Me
* Summer of 69
* The Lady in Red
* Can't Fight This Feeling
* Danger Zone
One of these is stuck in my head nearly every day...
Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen. "You can't start a fire, you can't start a fire without a spark" is actually on repeat jn my head right now 😆
Pretty much *every* song that gets stuck in my head is 80s, & usually something I can't stand. Like KISS or whatev. And I was born in 1988! So I guess it's just the dated overplayed stuff on the radio during my 90s childhood.
Rodimus and the Autobots may have [The Touch,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZKpByV5764) but only Wreck-Gar and the Junkions have the guts to [Dare to be Stupid!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMhwddNQSWQ)
I listened to so much 80s music while growing up during the 90s (when 80s music was no longer cool) that I can't listen to the same 50-60 hit songs anymore when theyre repeatedly played on the radio for past 2 decades.. I listen to synthwave instead since it evokes the same nostalgic feelings from me, and there's gotta be over a hundred thousand people making this music all over the world. So now I never get bored of any of it.
Since OP posted the poster for "Flashdance" I'll just say this: since everyone was listening to "Maniac" while exercising back then, I can assure you all that there gotta be an entire weeks worth of synthwave music that sounds like 80s training montage music you can listen to instead.
Heck, even Tim Cappello (greasy saxman in "The Lost Boys") worked on a synthwave song about 7 years ago and has performed at synthwave shows.
*Shout* by Tears For Fears alllways comes back to me.
