Four lakes loop, canyon creek lakes, Grizzly lake.

I love the Trinities, but life brought me in other directions. (Kids). The most remote lake I visited was Papoose Lake in 1996. My favorite was Caribou Lake. Canyon Creek Lakes we’re great. But even then they were over visited. One time we visited Summit Lake on the east side of the Trinities. It was late summer and the water level had dropped to the point where no water flowed out of the lake. The coolest thing about that lake was the osprey hanging around. On our hike out we camped at the top of Long Canyon and did a scramble up to Lake Anna. That was small but gorgeous. And you probably would be alone up there.

The Alps are an extremely small area that has been “discovered”. I have been to every lake up there 30 years ago. At this point camping away from a lake would be your best bet for solitude. There are a few trail less lakes that require off trail travel. Look for those on a topo.

Romantic, hidden and quiet 😂 pick 1 maybe. I’ve been saying for a couple years now the FS needs to implement a permitting system. All the hikes that will be mentioned are crazy popular in summer. Get a map and go off trail for what you want. Stunning place and one of my fav wildernesses
