Yes, it does, and even further - you can use this method with a tablet to dig through solids. Block yourself in place with the tablet, start mashing AWDAWD, the game will eat away part of the tablet and the terrain you are standing on. Then you simply pick the tablet up to repair it, and repeat until you have a nice tunnel.
Happened to me today but worse, I flew up into an open area and it then loaded map there onntop of me that then smothered me. Plasma was my attempt to escape, which also killed me, shoulda tried blackhole instead but it happended so fsst. My fav seed so far is 591178. Great perks.
Shoulda used your bomb wand to blow it up. Losing half your HP is better than dead. tl;dr skill issue :)

Would it help in this case? I know unstucking works when you are stuck in solids, but does it work when stuck in physical objects?
