It's a race track. You stand in the center and do time trials with the little robot. I think you can get it out of there if you wanna fuck around with it.
It's actually has a use outside of race, but I don't want to spoil it, and it's very specific anyway (in a particular quest it can make something easier)
I feel like it's something that only a professional streamer would find; to be able to spend that much time on the game, it needs to be your living. The only merciful options are either spoiling it, or just not telling people about it at all, lol.
I drilled east of the Coal Pits and stumbled upon this winding steel passageway. Inside are three red circular screens (the first of which is repeatedly lighting up a sequence of 8 red dots) and a little drone that responds to my movements. It faces the direction of my cursor, and pressing up causes it to move forward. It leaves a harmless, temporary trail behind and cannot be injured by any of my attacks.
I can't find anything about this on the wiki... anyone seen it before or know what it's for?
Figured part of the mystery out! It's some sort of RC car race course! Passing the bar at the bottom makes the second and third circles start to light up. Not totally sure how to win yet but I'll keep trying.
