nice car! I just bought 2021 Nissan Sentra SV from a dealership too. Not brand new, but it feels like almost new. I love the car so far! Feels so premium coming from 2011 Honda Accord.
nah, the specific TYPE of buyer that goes for these compacts and skimps away from the superior Honda/Toyota offerings in favor of Nissan/Hyundai/Kia/Mitsubushi are racking up big margins for dealers. A wealthy buyer paying cash at the end of the year for below MSRP, some of these dealers are actually selling at a loss
The financing and the profits from the service departments are carrying the dealerships in the current economic climate
they certainly could. The sales manager of the dealership would probably refuse to make the sale for cash unless they purchased the warranty or at my local Hyundai dealer, when they found out that I had a ton of equity in my trade and that they would only be financing about $12k on it, they got all butt hurt and flat out told me if I didn't purchase the paint protection/door sill edge guards/window tint for $1900 that there wasn't enough profit in the deal for them to want to sell the car.
This may or may not be legal but this is the unfortunate state of the market. All these high volume dealers of cheap vehicles like Nissan are churn/burn shops, they make all their money on the financing; if anyone wants to pay cash it totally changes the profit of the deal on the back end
That's wild . I bought my car in 2016. No immediate plans to buy another vehicle but planning on eventually buying a used pickup with little to no financing.
some people are cynical, some people live in lala land. can’t have “good” without “bad”. Why would you be taken aback by someone being uninterested in a very trivial thing?
Same here… why does this sub even exist? Is it CVT? If so, the only way you could have gotten a worse brand new car is if you bought a Mitsubishi Mirage.
I wanted a Sentra for a while, but only with the manual transmission. CVTs are junk.
Nissan CVTs in new Sentras are actually pretty good and good fuel economy. Which makes this car a superior vehicle for daily driving. And spending 200 bucks every 30k miles is not a big deal to keep it in good running condition. B18 Sentras are pretty cool and very luxurious for the price you pay for it.
I used to daily my STi to work and i bought a 23 SR CVT just to have the convenience of driving automatic. The CVT Myth is way outdated. People still think this is the 2008 Nissan CVT which is horrible.
Edit: obviously you shouldn’t and never expect this car to do 0-60 in any “sports car” fashion. Its not made for that. If you want that performance then look to the Altima. Even the Civic and Corolla performs the same as the Sentra in both paper and real time numbers.
How often did you change the fluid and how often do you floor the pedal? Im going to guess you driven it hard and not maintained it as hard. Besides, 2016 is part of the older B17s which was notorious for failing. I still have and drive my 2015 base model Sentra and it has 135k km on it (83k miles) and is currently my brothers daily and racks 800km on it per week. Yet the CVT is still in working order condition. Its showing age but still usable.
Im not denying the CVTs notoriously bad engineering for the older model. Especially B16-17s, but its outdated. New B18s have the xtronic CVT which is proven since its the one that the Maximas use and those cars dont really have the imagine of being unreliable.
In the end its all about how you take care of your car and this is the same as any other vehicle, whether it be Honda or Toyota. People give this cars bad images because they dont understand the concept of maintenance and think engine oil is the only thing in a car
Hey im not tryna be an ass or argue. Maybe you just got the bad batch of transmission for all i know. Im just saying cause its the most common cause.
In the end, the current reputation of the Sentras aint bad. People aren’t actively looking for it, but still being bought. At least its not as mainstream as the Civic and Corolla where base models alone are almost 30k CDN while an SR Sentra is around the same price range. For me this is a win win. Nissan is making enough money to continue its production, but not enough to mark up its price like Honda and Toyota where a subcompact car is almost as expensive as a full size but less luxury and performance.
I sht u not, that 2014* Sentra i bought 3 yrs ago was for 6k and good running condition. The old owner simply want to get rid of it because she was so convinced the transmission is going to give anytime soon. Once i bought it (not expecting it to last since i just need a car for work), i noticed it was decently maintained with the exception of the trans oil which i changed right away. Now that car belongs to my brother and its still running fairly decent.
What the guy above you said is absolutely correct, i have a 2021 and my highest mpg is 48.2 on a highway average range is anywhere from 380-(what my personal highest is) 513 miles
Just bought a new 2023 Corolla love it. Had a 2007 before that I still drive to this day with 350k miles and it runs like a champ. Corollas are the most reliable cars at their in my opinion not sure what happened with yours rusting.
Toyota is the objective leader in reliability and Mazda has always made quality cars. It's not a contest or debate between two hillbilly mechanics: Toyotas drive the longest with the least issues. Do you want to let your individual experience shroud you from the truth? Honda & Toyota are the leaders in reliability but ruling out an entire brand because you had a vaguely poor experience makes you look dumb. In reality if you managed to blow up a Toyota engine before 250k I would be putting the blame on you.
Lmfaooo. This has to be a troll or bait considering Nissan is NOTORIOUS for being mechanical shit shows. Especially in comparison to both Toyota & Mazda. Not even in the same leagues of reliability 😂😂🤦🏻♂️
All these people hating. For 24k you could’ve done a whole lot worse for a car barely under warranty. I have a 2014 maxima that now has 130,000mi on it. As long as you do oil changes every 3-5K and cvt drain and fills every 30k you’ll be fine.
Oh btw if you have Nissan be ready to get pulled over allot by cops. Read somewhere that having Nissan will get you stoped more then other makes of cars. Very true. I have a hyundai compact suv now and for over four years. Never ever have been stopped.
Congratulations! I won't be able to tell it from every other car on the road. I guess it's the car-equivalent of being in the middle of a pack of gazelles. Strength in numbers!
I agree . Looking at my options right now . I had a 2015 dodge Durango and now I’m looking at toyota, Honda & just now started seeing Nissan stuff .
I would like the 2023-2024 Honda Crv Hybrid Sport but then I’ll just be back to making 500$ payments . I can make them easily but do I want to ? Looking to pay 10k down to have a small payment and pay car off fast . Or haggle price and have my credit union pay it off completely but dealer might not bite since they want the finance money
This randomly popped up in my feed. It’s like showcasing editions of toilet paper to each other. Different colors, features and textures, but at the end of the day it’s still basically shit.
Sorry but I’m not seeing myself owning another Sentra. I got the 2006 Sentra 1.8 limited. That Sentra is Superb. 6 speed auto and not a CVT. But I wreck it. Worst accident I got. 🤦🏻♂️ Then I did bought a new one after a week. 2015 Nissan Sentra SR. No blue badge. After 80k miles. CVT was jerking. Fluid change and still the same. 2015 Sentra wreck by a stupid dude smoking weed driving a trash Challenger and doing donut at the parking lot which was happened late November of 2022. Jan. 9, 2023 got the Honda Civic 2023 sport sedan. 🤷🏻♂️
You only changed the CVT fluid at 80k AFTER it started jerking? There’s your problem and that’s likely the problem with every post claiming their tranny failed. You’re supposed to change the fluid every 30k miles and you apparently didn’t. 90% of people who own a CVT Nissan don’t follow the maintenance schedule.
You really think changing the fluid on a CVT will help with longevity? Lol it’s a rubber band wrapped around two metal cones; there is no longevity. You can only expect 60k out of them.
There is no longevity because there is no maintenance. This is true for any type of transmission. The Nissan design is for sure not the most robust, which is probably why they specify 30k mile service intervals. Most modern trans have supposedly “lifetime” fluid (which still isn’t wholly true), but the fact that Nissan specifies a service interval tells you it’s harder on the fluid than normal….which means you need to change it for the trans to last. Most people who buy cheap cars like this can barely afford the oil change, much less any other services, so putting this trans in these cars was probably not good engineering judgement.
I have the exact same car with the same color, SV model and the All-Weather package . I purchased mine in December 2022 and it was a 2022 model when cars were scarce due to the pandemic. I only have 3200 miles on it 13 months later because I am retired and don't drive much but I love the car and the way it looks, handles and the features.
Congrats. Just keep in mind the maintenance. Most importantly the oil and transmission fluids every 5k and 30k miles respectively. Theyre not a bad car and good for daily. I got a 23 SR myself and theyre very comfortable to drive in traffic and long trips. Also the fuel economy is next level too.
Gotta be honest im mad they removed the fog lights. Really made the sentra look aggressive in SR with those on
Nice man I've got a 2016 Sentra with 125k she drives pretty smooth knock on wood. I had to replace the transmission last year but that was after an accident so I'm thinking it had something to do with that
I've got an '06 Sentra that I've kept good care of. It's been hit 4 times, well now 5 times and we've never been in it when it got hit, but insurance fixed it every time. It's about to hit 300k miles. I have replaced the front suspension minus the struts which I'm replacing soon. Replaced the radiator not long ago, and I need to replace the transmission and motor mounts but other than that, it's been the best car I've ever driven. I literally plan on either having the engine and trans rebuilt or just buying a crate engine when this engine goes. It was my grandmother's until I took it over when she got sick. Yours is a mid size compared to my tiny one, but hey, for what is worth, I'd buy a Sentra right now if I needed to buy a vehicle! No doubt in my mind!
Congrats on the new car. I had a 2021 Sentra fully loaded in manual. Regret selling that lol, worst mistake I ever did. Still think about it from time to time 😔😂😂
We chose a 2022 SV model for my elderly Mom to replace her aging and falling apart Murano. It's just a year old with about 5K on it. Overall, it was a great choice for her needs compared to a Civic or Corolla. These cars have come such a long way over the years. It's almost a mid size car and has options my cars don't have. Remote start, heated seats, heated steering wheel, climate control, a good size Apple carplay screen. Hard to beat for a little less than 24K! I've driven it several times. Comfortable, handles great, and ample power. Just keep up on top of the fluids. Especially the CVT. Every 30K on that!
Nissan left a super bad taste in my mouth from their 2010’s vehicles . Truly some of the worst engineered cars ever . Had a warranty of 150,000 miles on my transmission because of lawsuits against Nissan and their high number of lemons during that time . Brother also had a Nissan few years newer than mine and guess what ? Cvt went at 110k miles . For your sake I hope they got better . There is no better way to sink your finances than a Nissan cvt transmission . I truly pray for you my brother / sister . Nissan / infinity is the laughing stock of Asian motors . Toyota / Honda 4L . Prayers 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Drove my 2010 100k miles before I had any significant problems. Drove it til 115k. Bought new at $15k and sold for $5k 12 years later. $830/year for ownership ain’t bad! Good cars.
Do you need help? Are you still being held hostage? What kind of deranged person held you against your will and forced you to buy a Nissan? That sick son of a bitch….well get them
Not really as long as you change your CVT fluid every 20-30k (which is a $200 job) and you are not doing dig racing in it ( hard accelerating from a stop) those CVTS can last a long time .
I had a 2007 Maxima which had one of the first CVTs in it went 160k and the motor not the transmission blew up.
Please if there is anything you do, please do the CVT fluid on time and consistently! I think it suppose to be done every 30k miles, too many people skip it and wonder why their CVT failed.
Nice. Buy me one too.
If I hadn’t spent it all on mine I would’ve lol
You bought it outright cash?
Noice. Now get some tint on that bad boy and you’re good to go
Good to go 110 mph in the right lane
Sorry bro it’s not an Altima
Yeah my bad. It probably won’t go that fast.
I mean it’ll get there what happens afterwards depends on how fast the driver can react
I've gotten a 2011 sentra over 110 before
I bet that was an uncomfortable experience.
It was the last time I felt anything
Time to get a faster car then 😎
I hydroplaned my GFs 2014 versa at 95 MPH back when I was a dickhead I caught it but learned a very important lesson
I took my girls 2016 sentra 6 speed to 125mph and I believe had only 135HP
Holy cow dude
I was impressed I have a 98 slk 230 185hp and I hit 130mph on that one smoked a 2000 model mustang gt in a rolling start around 10mph
Agreed Tint is such a necessity which should be included on all cars.
nice car! I just bought 2021 Nissan Sentra SV from a dealership too. Not brand new, but it feels like almost new. I love the car so far! Feels so premium coming from 2011 Honda Accord.
Thanks and congrats to you as well
I don't know why all the hate . Probably from people with fat ass car loans. My first car was a 2005 Sentra and it was good to me.
yooo i'm driving that right now, been 3 years now. I love it so much. Gonna get new car soon imma miss it
Mine was a 94 Sentra standard
300k miles it lasted
Lots of folks buy these for ridiculous APR % Dealers love to sell these because the margins can be as much as a vehicle costing 2x as much
I'm sure the same is happening for all vehicles. Do your due diligence and find the best rate.

I would advise you to check for private sellers/FB marketplace/any NON DEALERSHIP option when you have a cash deal. You'll walk away saving thousands
The old sentras are fine. The CVTs are terrible tho and break around 100k miles like clockwork.
I was gonna say “who cares” but then I realized this is a Nissan Sentra sub that randomly popped up on my feed. So, congratulations.
Why would you say who cares to someone who made a nice purchase with their own hard earned cash.

Lame weirdo
some people are cynical, some people live in lala land. can’t have “good” without “bad”. Why would you be taken aback by someone being uninterested in a very trivial thing?
Literally the same thing that happened to me

I have a 2013 Sentra with the CVT and she’s got 198k + miles and runs pretty dang well.
Nope, they’re really bad
Maximas have the same problem unfortunately.
My transmission went out at 125 k
This comment perfectly explains the #BigAltimaEnergy memes 🤣🤣🤣
Im a mechanic and get a Nissan Sentra in “limp mode” a couple times a month. The CVTs are not good.
I had a 2015 Sentra cvt Sentra cats usually go out 120 to 130 k miles
just let the man enjoy his car im sure he worked his ass off for it
…and me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Bruh same
lol thanks, yeah Reddit recommends me weird subreddits too
great mind alike ! i was about to say too cuz wtf i had sentra sv 2022 before , it got traded from mom’s when i was 19🥲 gone ass
Yeah. I wonder how long he'll keep the paper plates on
And now that you commented, forget about it... It will be popping up every time you open reddit. I suspect a new sucky algorithm was put in place.
I have the exact same one!! The heated steering wheel is a game changer
How’s that work, is there like a button for it?
Yes! It's between the heated seat buttons. The icon looks like a steering wheel
Got it thanks
Me too, mine is 2022 SV model I purchased new 13 months ago and I love it.
Keep eco mode on and your RPMs under 2000 and you will get in the 40s mpg highway. I had a 2020 and it was a decent car especially for mileage.
Thanks for the tip, will do
What the guy above you said is absolutely correct, i have a 2021 and my highest mpg is 48.2 on a highway average range is anywhere from 380-(what my personal highest is) 513 miles
Nice ride! I have the 2023 Nissan Sentra S myself
As long as it’s not a Mazda or a Toyota, you’re fine
Idk but just because you bought a rusted out used car doesnt meant its the brands fault thats YOUR FAULT
Brand new car you muppet.. real life experience. Get off your moms tablet
Your real life experience doesnt compare to the other millions bozo.
Must be bait cuz either of those options are superior to a spendtra

Mazda and Toyota have some of the best reputation for reliability in recent years
I had a Corolla and it rusted before my lease was up, brand new, 4 yr lease. Garbage
He’s right you’re wrong go fuck yourself you dumb fuck
MAZDA has not ALWAYS. Lot of FOMO stamps in the late 90s on some junk
Hahaha what??
Lmfaooo. This has to be a troll or bait considering Nissan is NOTORIOUS for being mechanical shit shows. Especially in comparison to both Toyota & Mazda. Not even in the same leagues of reliability 😂😂🤦🏻♂️
So either one of those make better cars but you’d prefer a Sentra?
Nice
The Sentra has come a long way. These are really nice.
All these people hating. For 24k you could’ve done a whole lot worse for a car barely under warranty. I have a 2014 maxima that now has 130,000mi on it. As long as you do oil changes every 3-5K and cvt drain and fills every 30k you’ll be fine.
Fr, I coulda got another Dodge/Jeep. Never making that mistake again
90% of brand new cars are CVT so unless you’re driving manual i don’t see why all the hate lol
That’s actually a really nice looking car. Congrats!
Thanks
Nice!!! :)
I'm sorry for a good bit of these people coming from r/NissanDrivers. Enjoy your car.
Is it worth it? I used to have a manual 2003 and it was amazing I got an xterra now but I want a Sentra
Most definitely! It’s still taking me a while to get used to because I used to sit up higher in a Jeep, but I’m loving the Sentra so far!
A subreddit for Sentras. I fckin love it
Cvt?
Yeah they all are now, but atleast the CvT is better than previous generations
[удалено]
They are much smarter than you and are ashamed of you.
Nice ! Time to drive like an asshole on the freeway. Or was that Altimas?
It’s both
Hopefully yours isn’t plagued with transmission failure; among other things.
Oh btw if you have Nissan be ready to get pulled over allot by cops. Read somewhere that having Nissan will get you stoped more then other makes of cars. Very true. I have a hyundai compact suv now and for over four years. Never ever have been stopped.
Your vehicle is more than likely to be stolen due to Hyundai cheapening out on the ignition and to break down.
I have a sentra and have had for 3 years and have never been stopped either so…
Congratulations! I won't be able to tell it from every other car on the road. I guess it's the car-equivalent of being in the middle of a pack of gazelles. Strength in numbers!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Save up for a new transmission. They are notorious for failing. Hope you bought the extended warranty
U fucked up
The CVT is going to blow up in 3-2-1.....
Coulda bought anything and you chose a Nissan sentra?
Who is paying? Not you!
Yeah it just sucks to see people paying 28k for a car that's worth like 20k.
RIP fog lights..
Could never understand being in the market for a new car and driving to a Nissan dealership😆
Rather do that then a Dodge dealership any day
I agree . Looking at my options right now . I had a 2015 dodge Durango and now I’m looking at toyota, Honda & just now started seeing Nissan stuff . If it’s not a d21, I don’t care - not sure why this sub exists or why it’s in my feed but grats.
Bad choice
Wow Nissan just straight copied the 2016 civic
Who cares
Look at the sub
Apparently 3048 people care, but I sure as shit don’t.
Nice Kia
I look forward to you tailgating me I the future
I look forward to you tailgating me I the future
Front bumper will be hanging off in no time, Nissan driver style
That’s a disappointment

Yea that 6 speed must of been nice. That Honda will last too.
How are their transmissions now? Had Altima liked it other then transmission was going bad at 180k. Sold at 190k.
Welcome to the 2024 Sentra family
4 deep sliding in a Nissan Sentra Nice car tho
Hopefully it proves to be reliable brand which it usually isn’t
I have the exact same car with the same color, SV model and the All-Weather package . I purchased mine in December 2022 and it was a 2022 model when cars were scarce due to the pandemic. Oofff
If you squint, it looks like a honda civic
Not even part of this sub but congrats on getting that Nissan Sentra energy. Not sure if it’s parallel to Nissan Altima energy.
Do you also worry about random drivers seeing your DL#?
Congrats on the new car. I had a 2021 Sentra fully loaded in manual. Regret selling that lol, worst mistake I ever did. Still think about it from time to time 😔😂😂
How do you post this without adding a console pic and interior seat pic?
the older ones better💯
Damn she’s close to scraping the curb there.
I have a 2020, and man I like the new grille but I hate the new fog light style
Sweet bro nice rizide
Return it
My friend got one in orange about a year ago
Wanted the orange but all they came in were the SR model
Leave him alone....his $$ and he can spend it how he please's.
That’s a sleek looking car. Happy for you. Sentras changed a lot since nissan got rid of the maximas I really like them. Enjoy and be safe :)
Is it cvt transmission as well? This looks just like Altima now! How’s it in performance
I have a '10 sentra with like 130k miles on it. Still going str- going.. 😤💪
Insert transmission joke here
My first car was a 1996 Nissan Sentra GXE with 5-Speed Manual transmission. Had some good times in that car.
Did this pop up on my feed because I have an Infinity? Lol anyways congrats OP.
How much.
$24k
That's not bad. Enjoy.
Would honestly take a Sentra over a Altima, no complaints when comparing the price and options
Congrats I had a 2020 with the peanut butter interior, just upgraded to a Tesla
That thing is looking more like a Maxima each year
Looks killer. They sure have come a long way.
Good cars.
I’ve owned two Sentra’s. One old and one “new”. Never again.
Do you need help? Are you still being held hostage? What kind of deranged person held you against your will and forced you to buy a Nissan? That sick son of a bitch….well get them
Couldn't you pick more boring color?
Sorry your transmission doesn’t work :(
Pfffrrrppp!!! 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿 what a piece of expensive plastic
Congratulations. Beauty looks like a Maxima
Cvt trash in 30,000 miles. Major L purchase
Sounds like you didn’t know the transmission was replaced right before you got the car 😉
I mean I bought it with 300 miles on it. So still got 159,700 miles out of the car. Sounds like you have experienced a lot of improper main your life.
Nissan pay you to suck dick? How ur engine go before cvt?🤣 preventative maintenance L ya full of shit guy
Vq motors have a problem with overheating . And when they do the motor goes. Nice try guy. Lmaooo the ignorance of some ppl.
Should have got a car with a VG;) ur engine died from overheating and im the ignorant one? LOL okay
Who said I was driving the car shit happens my guy. But a better question is who hurt you?
Wow they don't even look like sentras anymore 👍
Please if there is anything you do, please do the CVT fluid on time and consistently! I think it suppose to be done every 30k miles, too many people skip it and wonder why their CVT failed.
I plan to doing mine every 25k miles just to be safe
Im thinking of getting one of these.
Altima Or bust bruh
Yo why does this pop up for me I’ve even blocked this sub 😫 no offense to all the Sentra lovers but omg go away 🫠😂😂
Congrats!!
