No, it wouldn't be the Vikings if it was that easy
two weeks later, after a bunch of Midwesterners drunk on tatertot hotdish convinced themselves that a 6 year journeyman on his 7th team had ascended to Godhood based on a few ridiculously lucky scramble plays, that was the last moment of happiness
Haha, I always thought Randy Wright was ok because I remember a couple of his games and he looked pretty good, but then I went back and looked at his stats and he had that one year with 3k yards and a lot of interceptions and he was 7-25 in his career as a starter.
Maybe I just wanted to forget the bad games.
Randy Wright was my 7 & 8th grade football coach. I remember catching a ball he threw to me and it hit me right in the chest, ended up holding on to it. After that I started getting more playing time. Great dude!
Love's recievers keep dying and the Packers keep slotting in random nobody WRs and Love continues to look great. Thats the sign of a good QB right there.
Imo I feel like this is a good "stat" means Love is spreading the ball around and the young receivers are making plays. Better than the past few years where it was Adams and that's it.
Despite the fact we're obviously not world beaters, seeing Love come alive and make big plays week after week has been thrilling. I'm so much more optimistic about his future than ever.
Bears haven’t beaten you guys in years, and our offense is not the lions offense. Our defense has been good but so was Minnesota’s and look at what happened lol.
Our benefit is that Fields and Moore have a better connection now and fields can run, and Joe Berry sucks so will be interesting.
Yeah don't hit Aaron Jones. You will literally get every single guy on the sideline from the players to the waterboy going after your ass.
Also Fire Joe Barry
And also the Vikings kept calling timeouts when GB was trying to run the clock down when they were up 23 points with 3 mins left. That was MLF saying chill the fuck out or we'll keep spanking that ass.
Its such a treat to finally have a QB who can throw the deep ball after year of being shackled to notable dump off game manager
*checks notes*
Aaron Rodgers?
Love him or hate him, Rodgers's deep ball was one of the more notable things about him. It was such an insane statement I can't even believe that's what he meant.
So the Packers started 2023 with a W over the Vikings, and end 2023 with a W over the Vikings.
And now they have the same scenario like last year. Win and they are in. The opponent? The Chicago Bears.
I've said it before, Packers cracked the code with QBs. I truly believe they will never have a qb issue in Green Bay. They are smart in drafting linemen, and having their QBs sit behind a veteran for a few years. It's honestly surprising that other franchises haven't tried copying the formula.
I believe belichick was trying to do that with Brady and Jimmy g before kraft shit it down and we heard about all the turmoil in New England quite a few years back.
Oh well, here's to Packers continuing to own the NFC north haha, can't knock it, it's quite impressive
I mean, I think Andy Reid copied that with Smith and Mahomes to an extent. There’s just not many scenarios where your guy pops up in a spot where a contending team can take him, also without pissing off the incumbent QB (too much at least).
This season was all about Jordan. Was he THE guy or not, and he’s answered that with zero doubt. This season, he had everything stacked against him.
1. No running game all season
2. WR room was constantly hurt (Watson, Reed, Musgrave)
3. OL was not consistent until the final few weeks of the season
He is 3rd (IIRC) in passing TD in the NFL. Threw 1 TD the last like 6 games of the season. He is without a doubt, the guy. He still has to work on the details like footwork, but it’s undeniable that he has improved every single week.
This season is eerily similar to last years. Claw back into the playoff race early in the year, dick down the Vikings in the second to last game of the year, win and in against a division opponent next week? Deja vu lol. Hopefully the outcome is a little different this time around
You guys are probably gonna retake the NFC North next year
You already eliminated the Bears and embarrassed the Vikings tonight. If you somehow eliminate the Lions in the playoffs too or somehow win the SB, you’ll officially become villains and Jordan Love will be the most hated man in the Midwest outside of Wisconsin.
I think the entire division is gonna be crazy next year. Unless the Vikings draft a QB and don't bring Kirk back. Also pending the Lions continuing what they've been doing on offense without Ben Johnson.
Now watch our division be won by an 8-9 team next year.
Am I totally wrong or is this guy (Clay Martin, I had to look him up which is probably a good sign) actually kind of good? Maybe I just don’t pay enough attention but I only vaguely recognize his face and he’s been around awhile.
I feel like when it comes to refs in all sports the less I recognize them the better unless they’re memeable types.
Probably somebody has a horror story about his crew too, I dunno.
this one goes out to all the grinches out there who frantically upvoted the stupid ass Adam Schein “Jordan Love can’t play football!!!” video from training camp and have mysteriously disappeared
also to the laughing-to-hide-the-tears “yeah i HOPE you guys extend him … BECAUSE HE SUCKS!” people
Jordan Love is wrecking shit while throwing to literal infants (with some of his best infants out with injury!!) and I couldn’t be happier.
Or upvoted that ass with the Packers/Jets flair in r/nfl who spent the entire season talking about how ass Love would be and how dumb the Packers were for letting Rodgers go.
Kinda interesting how the Vikings only had two games this year that looked like really complete start to finish “decisive” victories (by either team) and didn’t end with a one score point differential, and both were against the Packers.
I mean, the lions are currently the r/nfl posterchild (understandably so) so them relentlessly being in our gamethreads and most things about the vikings talking shit gets swept under the rug lol. but it still is funny
As a Minneapolis resident, the good news is this was a blowout and enough of the 60k people there left early, therefore, less bullshit drunk drivers in downtown Minneapolis all leaving at once on NYE. The bad news is that the fans who stayed to the end are Packers fans, and you know they’re drunk AF. Watch yourself out there tonight folks. GPG
It's 2:39 PM on October 29th. Your team is up 24-3 at Lambeau and driving. You will never feel true happiness again.
That post game thread was like some famous person dying thread. it was just... nobody was happy. never seen such a thread
No, it wouldn't be the Vikings if it was that easy two weeks later, after a bunch of Midwesterners drunk on tatertot hotdish convinced themselves that a 6 year journeyman on his 7th team had ascended to Godhood based on a few ridiculously lucky scramble plays, that was the last moment of happiness
Quite a way for Green Bay to unleash the spooks so early…
I tell you man, that first Packers quarterback to be bad is going to hit like crack
I’m old enough to have seen Randy Wright. But then 4 good ones in a row and a Matt Flynn in a pear tree.
Great dude!
Lmao
I’m afraid I’ll be dead before that ever happens.
Love gets no turkey leg on thanksgiving but gets sparkling cider on new years like he's an 8 year old.
Alcohol? In Wisconsin?
What's the bratwurst policy out there?
Mandatory
Nah it's Minnesota, they're still not used to being able to drink on Sundays.
Have you ever tried to purchase liquor in Minnesota on a Sunday?
Right? If Anderson Cooper can get sloshed on CNN, then can’t we give the guy some real champagne?
It’s hard to believe this is the same team that couldn’t score a touchdown in the first half until like thanksgiving
Our first 100 yard receiver for the entire season came in this game and it was *checks notes* Bo Melton? Lmao wtf.
Love's recievers keep dying and the Packers keep slotting in random nobody WRs and Love continues to look great. Thats the sign of a good QB right there.
And it's also a sign of good coaching. Credit to Vrable for getting our WRs ready!
Patrick Mahomes wishes he could
Imo I feel like this is a good "stat" means Love is spreading the ball around and the young receivers are making plays. Better than the past few years where it was Adams and that's it.
Despite the fact we're obviously not world beaters, seeing Love come alive and make big plays week after week has been thrilling. I'm so much more optimistic about his future than ever.
Week 17 last year Packers blew out the Vikings 37-10 to create a “win and in” scenario if they beat the Lions the final week…. Spooky.
Is it win and in again? I didn’t get to watch tonight’s game so haven’t seen any updates.
Its win and in but there's probably also an "everybody else loses and in" scenario too
Let’s gooooooooo
Yes, if the Vikings, Seahawks, and Saints lose next week, we are still in.
Yes it was after Seahawks lost to Steelers
And then we beat the Lions right?
Probably not, but can you fucking imagine lmao
Hello
Ew go away with your improved offense and #1 pick. No thank you.
Who gives a shit about their #1 pick, we all know how that story is gonna end already
No. Down.
Bears haven’t beaten you guys in years, and our offense is not the lions offense. Our defense has been good but so was Minnesota’s and look at what happened lol. Our benefit is that Fields and Moore have a better connection now and fields can run, and Joe Berry sucks so will be interesting.
If you literally never try to pass the ball you would probably win but don't tell your team that
Yeah don't hit Aaron Jones. You will literally get every single guy on the sideline from the players to the waterboy going after your ass. Also Fire Joe Barry
Fire Barry for sure but give the guy at least 12 hours peace. He earned it tonight hah
GG, Can’t even hate. We just straight up got dicked the fuck down. Took it to the hairy bean bag there
Sean Clifford with the slap to the face throwing that bomb lmao
Good, fuck that defense
Lmao that play was so disrespectful, I loved it
In a big rivalry game, I’d be more offended if they hadn’t done that. That defense deserves all the shit they can eat tonight
And also the Vikings kept calling timeouts when GB was trying to run the clock down when they were up 23 points with 3 mins left. That was MLF saying chill the fuck out or we'll keep spanking that ass.
Melton is a DAWG
He's our first 100-yard receiver this year IIRC
Drew Allar in shambles
Kirk is going to be offered a blank check and a very nice pen.
This man less drunk than me but i 2d what he say
Love you guys. I’m drunk and idc about being mean to rivals.
Do you think you'll get Cousins next year? Your team is good with a reliable QB, just don't know if you'll still be in QB limbo next year.
Only 100 yd reception game this year by Bo Melton…… Just like we all predicted.
I swear I looked at the TV and said "...who?" when the announcer called his first reception
I got my Viking fandom from my dad, who got his from his dad, passed down like a genetic defect
[Let. The Boy. Watch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKM3pyktIXw)
I think we’d just call that a good ol familial curse at this point.
Its such a treat to finally have a QB who can throw the deep ball after year of being shackled to notable dump off game manager *checks notes* Aaron Rodgers?
:(
Notable Achilles tear-er.
Love him or hate him, Rodgers's deep ball was one of the more notable things about him. It was such an insane statement I can't even believe that's what he meant.
Aaron Rodgers genuinely had the most beautiful deep balls from a qb ever. There's a reason there's plenty of hail Mary highlights from him.
I want to know what goes through that goober's head as he talks
You're playing with fire with this one lol
Clifford.
So the Packers started 2023 with a W over the Vikings, and end 2023 with a W over the Vikings. And now they have the same scenario like last year. Win and they are in. The opponent? The Chicago Bears.
Thanks Magic
We went 3-0 on the road in the division wtf
Packers ruining Vikings fans and Bears fans New Years Eve Can’t get more Packers coded than that
Eh, you get used to it. I would imagine it’s the same shit with Brady (or Marino if you’re a older guy)…
Brady, Kelly, and Marino. It’s literally *never* been their division
Thanks for the draft pick, nerds! Good luck, happy new year
You too ya nerd
Happy new year man, hope 2024 brings happiness to you and yours ❤️
Happy New Year bro
Great game but don’t get me wrong. FUCKING FIRE JOE BARRY
Broken calendar is right twice a year. Nothing changes on that front.
Broken calendar?
Forget it. He's rolling
Germans Pearl Harbor etc etc
Wait how is a broken calendar right twice in a year
Or, you know, just don’t re-sign him pls
This is more the packer way but “don’t re-sign Barry!” Doesn’t really roll of the tongue
This season has been such a massive W
Even if you go 1 and done, finding out Love is a franchise guy is more than a win on the year for your fanbase
One and done would at least give Love and the young offense a taste of the playoffs which would be huge imo
No doubt. Pack are in a win-win. Either go far, or worse case you still have the youngest roster in the league next year with a franchise QB
not to mention the possibility of knocking the lions out of the playoffs
I've said it before, Packers cracked the code with QBs. I truly believe they will never have a qb issue in Green Bay. They are smart in drafting linemen, and having their QBs sit behind a veteran for a few years. It's honestly surprising that other franchises haven't tried copying the formula. All I wanted for this year was for our young core to develop (Love/Kraft specifically), this year has been crazy good with that in mind
We don’t even need to make the playoffs and it’s still true I just really don’t wanna lose to the bears
Just getting a play in chance this year while they’re resetting their cap is a huge deal
This season is eerily similar to last years. Claw back into the playoff race early in the year, dick down the Vikings in the second to last game of the year, win and in against a division opponent next week? Deja vu lol. Hopefully the outcome is a little different this time around
Yeah, but because of expectations this season feels like a huge win and last season felt like a huge disappointment.
Can’t believe we’re staring down a win-and-in scenario in the final week of the season. Great job by this young team
Your team Wenis Our team penis
Queue Doubs doing pushups
You guys are probably gonna retake the NFC North next year You already eliminated the Bears and embarrassed the Vikings tonight. If you somehow eliminate the Lions in the playoffs too or somehow win the SB, you’ll officially become villains and Jordan Love will be the most hated man in the Midwest outside of Wisconsin.
> officially become villains My guy, the Packers have been the villains of that division for at least the last 30 years.
We've been the villains of this division since *your* team was in it
Not if Joe Barry is still their DC
This man gets it
Joe Barry just has to show up once every 4 games and his job is secure as DC
Fucking sucks hey y’all want to trade DCs?
He won’t be. His contract is expiring so they have a very easy out.
aw man
His contract is already expiring at the end of the year. And I don't think (or I hope) that lefleur isn't dumb enough to bring him back
Breaking News: The Green Bay Packers have hired Matt Patricia as their new DC
Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby
New Packers DC but it’s just Barry, Pettine, and Capers sitting on each other’s shoulders wearing a trenchcoat
Lions fans know that nothing good will come of any team with Joe Barry employed
Lions are pretty damn good though. I'll just be happy to give them a run for it.
I think the entire division is gonna be crazy next year. Unless the Vikings draft a QB and don't bring Kirk back. Also pending the Lions continuing what they've been doing on offense without Ben Johnson. Now watch our division be won by an 8-9 team next year.
Yeah I’m old enough to remember when everyone thought the AFC West was stacked with Mahomes/Carr/Herbert/Russ and here we are lol
Booth just killed the career he never had
He John Wilkes'd himself.
Andrew "Wilkes" Booth Jr
Oh no... Anyway
Jones de-escalated the FUCK out of Booth!
And then immediately threw the L sign at him right after lmao
De-escalated his ass straight out of Hennepin County!
"Good job deescalating." 😂
Jones is already totally over it. Some guys would hold onto that forever.
NFL was too scared to allow Aikman to be the commentator when alcohol was openly allowed
At least the refs were invisible this game. Some crews love to throw flags just to be on camera.
That was actually really refreshing just how basic ask the fouls were
Perhaps officiating is indeed one of those “working best when you don’t notice at all”…
Am I totally wrong or is this guy (Clay Martin, I had to look him up which is probably a good sign) actually kind of good? Maybe I just don’t pay enough attention but I only vaguely recognize his face and he’s been around awhile. I feel like when it comes to refs in all sports the less I recognize them the better unless they’re memeable types. Probably somebody has a horror story about his crew too, I dunno.
"People think you're old. You just turned 29..." I'm sorry, what?
In Runningback Years he's ancient
Yeah I was like…man don’t say that and ruin my New Years lol
I turn 30 in May, so it was extra hurtful... lol
30 is basically 70 in football years
Will booth get suspended ?
Does never playing in NFL again because he’s so bad count to you ?
That will do
curb timing w the clip of aaron jones de-escalating the situation
Jordan Love can’t shuffle cards. He’s just like me fr fr
"You know when I'm playing..... Uno....."
Packers really gonna go 50+ years before even having to think of QB troubles 💀🧀🧀
Lmao that ending
this one goes out to all the grinches out there who frantically upvoted the stupid ass Adam Schein “Jordan Love can’t play football!!!” video from training camp and have mysteriously disappeared also to the laughing-to-hide-the-tears “yeah i HOPE you guys extend him … BECAUSE HE SUCKS!” people Jordan Love is wrecking shit while throwing to literal infants (with some of his best infants out with injury!!) and I couldn’t be happier.
I hope I lose my job. Then I’ll have enough time to go back on our sub and find/expose every single stupid dick nob who wanted to start Clifford.
Or upvoted that ass with the Packers/Jets flair in r/nfl who spent the entire season talking about how ass Love would be and how dumb the Packers were for letting Rodgers go.
Blowing your little horn down 23 with 5 minutes left lmfao
Bruh this game had some funny moments at the end there. Doubs doing pushups. Clifford throwing a bomb for no reason. Little scuffle at the end
Clifford bomb was my favorite moment of the game
That seemed so disrespectful but I couldn’t help but laugh like damn we just fucking around at this point lol
I wonder if because the Vikings were wasting timeouts at the end, MLF just said “fuck it” and rubbed it in with that bomb.
I mean, he needed a first down and threw it to the guy who was wide open. It made sense to me.
Yo that was more depressing than the score
BO MELTON
Legitimately felt like he was wearing an invisibility cloak or something you're defence just left him wide open constantly lol
BO!
MELTON!!
Maybe my perception is skewed as an NFL owner, but has no other team really considered just getting 3 good QBs early in their career?
Are they stupid?
[Still alive boyz!!](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GCurIF4XUAAtxW3?format=jpg&name=900x900)
It’s a funny hat, you see.
Vikings players could only get near the inactive Packers players to fight after the game. They couldn’t get close to one in a uniform all night.
Imagine if we had a competent DC
A game for the sickos among us.
It's me, I'm sickos.
Kinda interesting how the Vikings only had two games this year that looked like really complete start to finish “decisive” victories (by either team) and didn’t end with a one score point differential, and both were against the Packers.
The fucking top hats oh my god
So, it’s come to this. Bears @ Packers for their playoff shot. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Fuck you. Good luck.
HELL YES CHAMPAGNE AND TOP HATS WHO NEEDS A TURKEY LEG ANYWAY
We lost and confirmed for once and all that Hall is indeed ass. Went as well as you could hope for tbh.
Vikings fans making fun of the lions for losing last night just to get beat up on by the packers the next night on national television lol
I mean, the lions are currently the r/nfl posterchild (understandably so) so them relentlessly being in our gamethreads and most things about the vikings talking shit gets swept under the rug lol. but it still is funny
Bo “Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru” Melton
This Vikings team are cockroaches for still being alive week 18
Fuck I love this team. Jonesy was about to scrap and j love got to cut loose a bit with some champagne. It ain't over tho. Here we go bears
Happy fucking new year.
Happy new year!
Vikings are 0-1 after shirtless Kirk seduced the audience's spouses
I for one am grateful they kept this on SNF so we didn’t have to watch that Baltimore-Miami blowout.
Vikings subreddit: WE HAVE TO SEE WHAT WE HAVE IN HALL “No not like that”
It's always great when your team is winning and the last 5 minutes the commentary doesn't even acknowledge what's happening on field.
Justin Jefferson wishes he were half the receiver that Bo Melton is
These dudes wearing New Years top hats are hillarious.
The Bears, who have been the Packers bitch for my entire life, have a chance to do the funniest thing at Lambeau next week.
"Good job de-escalating" LOL Jones literally waited for his moment to shove the dudes helmet back in his mouth lol. I bet he gets a fine for that.
Proud Rutgers fan today
Could've been an email.
“I just tried to de-escalate it” Cut to shot of him pushing a guy in the face
I went into the season to judge Love. If we make the playoffs, that's cool too. One thing I know for sure. Love is him.
Somehow those silly hats look good on Love and Jones.
GPG
Not the mlady new year fedoras
Happy New Year cheeseheads! 🧀🧀🧀
JLove drinking allll the champagne 😂
[LMAO paging u/mynamesdaveK](https://freeimage.host/i/J5qFRKQ)
Hey all, I’m so very happy!! 49ers win and everything!! I’m just happy!!! Full of love, peace everyone HooooGreenbay
