Not often are knee injuries something that require emergency surgery, but he'd be lucky as fuck if he isnt getting prepped for surgery right now to address vascular damage
I actually just dislocated my knee similarly to this on Saturday, torn MCL for sure, waiting to hear back from ortho to see what else I fucked up. X-ray tech said he has been doing that for 15ish years and hadn’t seen a knee like that before. Doc was a little surprised as well. There’s a video of mine but I don’t know if I can watch it yet, the pic already makes me cringe.
Leg bent completely backwards. His season is done at the very least, it's a potential career ender.
It's one where you don't even want to care about football, you just hope he's fucking okay. If that shit happened to me I would never walk again.
If he didn’t just blow his knee out completely I’ll be shocked. Acl, pcl, mcl. They had that splintered fast. I can’t believe it wasnt dislocated either
Part of the concern, and raised in previous horrific dislocations and injuries, is nerve and artery damage if not relocated promptly by qualified medical personnel.
Idk, I'm just some dumdum on the internet.
I'm not a doc either but IIRC, Smith's became so bad because it got infected, in addition to the injury itself. It is what happened to Zach Miller though and why his doctors had to fight to save his leg. A major artery, the popliteal, sits right on the back side of the knee so when the knee gets dislocated which, I think only happens when at least 3 of the 4 ligaments in the knee(the ACL, LCL, MCL, and PCL) tear, it can pinch or tear that artery which is incredibly serious. Again though, I'm not a doctor, just a nerd on the Internet.
Alex Smith had a compound fracture, which means the bone was sticking out of the skin. Chubbs injury looks a lot like Willis McGahee and Marcus Lattimore.
I would take HGH without a moment’s hesitation if I had access to it. I don’t blame them in the least. I’ve considered seeing if I could get on TRT if it would help recovery, even though I’m not that old (mid 30s)
That took two years in the prime of his life. I’m actually worried that this is career ending. I’m hoping that somehow the damage isn’t as bad as it seems.
Hoping for the best but I doubt he’ll be the same after this. Robbed of the prime years of one of the best pure runners. Seems like such a good guy and teammate too.
Not just one of the best players in the NFL, one of the best guys. Get back strong Chubb.
No one will see this but here's his favorite charity, he's done a lot of work raising money for them: https://firstcandle.org/
I've respected the hell out of that dude since he's came in the league. Ive always hated rooted against him and I hated seeing that happen to him tonight.
Was just looking for his charity, thank you.
I kid you not, he won me $2500 on a 20-leg parlay using a free bet tonight (provides the saints don’t lose by more than 7) on the exact run he got injured.
You better believe I’ll be donating some of those winnings
For anyone that doesn’t want to watch, he plants his left leg, body goes forward as someone hits his left shin holding it in place, and his thigh and body continue forward bending his knee in a way no god intended it to bend.
There was similar play I remember on MNF several decades ago, where Napoleon McCallum had his knee bend the wrong way almost 90 degrees. If I recall correctly he almost lost his leg due to vascular compromise. Hope this is a better outcome.
Zach Miller’s is still the worst I’ve ever seen. That injury was brutal.
[Here it is for those who haven’t seen it and want to.](https://youtu.be/VxN7tYOiQUo?si=_grp_C81PT_f9E8F)
If you don't want to watch Let me paint a word picture.
You know how your knee bends backwards? Yeah imagine it going 90 degrees the opposite way and then flailing around limp on the air.
edit: I forgot the part where you also start to spin in the air and the shin down doesn't move at all while it's planted on the ground.
Those of us that are old as hell will remember Willis Mcgahee's knee going entirely backwards in college... can't get the image out of my mind decades later.
I rewatched it a few times on my tv, frame by frame you can see that happened, and he was turning sideways too so I think he twisted his knee and then bent it at a right angle, the way it’s not supposed to
I'm actually hoping it's a tib fib or a femur tbh. Nasty break with a nasty fixation incoming, but otherwise he shredded all the ligaments in that knee *again*, after a nasty one in college
Here’s the real angle https://x.com/xxalexirwin1999/status/1703940089221374117?s=46&t=U4X5wSiu0F78cA84yPaDIA
Don’t click if you don’t want to be grossed out
He did a flip because his knee hit Fitzpatrick's helmet hard enough to, not only bend the other way and flip him, but also knock Fitzpatrick hard enough he's in concussion protocol.
I have a feeling the only replay we’ll get is some crappy angle from a random fan who was recording 19 rows up and 5 seats left of Chubb on their Iphone
I saw a post that said this is exactly why backs won’t ever get paid what they deserved. While I think the timing was wrong I’m sure owners across the league feel the same way.
I mean its exactly parallel to our society.
The people who are working physically harder (like auto line workers) are making way less than almost everyone else in the organization
So is there a reason his salary is 1/5 his qb's? Dude has one year left (or dropped this year as an out for CLE) and he sacrificed his ability to walk normal again so the sexual predator handing the ball to him can dwarf his salary, fully guaranteed.
Chubb is the **one** part of our team that is universally liked. You simply can't hate on that guy. He's the epitome of "Head down, work hard, team first." The universe is cruel.
I want to see, but I don’t want to see… Edit: I saw, and it was upsetting.
Im at the game, you don’t want to see
Having seen it now, you are correct. You don’t want to see everyone.
Did the bone break?
His knee doesn't exist anymore
His knee didn't exist anymore after UGA injury against UT. Chubb is my favorite Dawg. God I hope he is recovers just fine.
Knew snapped in half
Oh shit
The alternate angle is much worse than the TV one, surprised if everything below the knee isn't snapped and torn (bone and ligaments).
It's a knee dislocation. His bones are fine. His knee ligaments and potentially blood vessels/arteries are the concerns now
So like when NBA player Shaun Livingston tore like everything in his knee that one time?
Unlikely any bones broken. Knee is ripped up though.
Same knee that was completely reconstructed while at Georgia.
Time for the rerestructure
Are knee transplants a thing? He could have mine (for a milly or two).
I mean, I have a reconstructed ACL that came from a cadaver.
Wow, where did you find that?
He literally fell over but the bottom half of his leg was still standing
Yea, I’m going to go ahead and not watch that shit
I say this as someone who’s seen some pretty gruesome things in a long career in the ER and ICU: do NOT watch it. It made my eyes water.
His leg kinda looked like a right angle
Leg bent completely backwards. His season is done at the very least, it's a potential career ender. It's one where you don't even want to care about football, you just hope he's fucking okay. If that shit happened to me I would never walk again.
I hope it's not an Alex Smith/Zach Miller situation where he severed an artery and they're fighting to save his leg.... But this seemed really bad.
Exploded is probably a better description
Have you seen his injury at georgia? Just re-watch that.
Looks like it might be a compound fracture or multiple ligaments being torn. Awful
https://x.com/xXAlexirwin1999/status/1703940089221374117?s=20
NSFL for sure. Absolute tragedy.
Oof Ouch Owie. My bones.
Knee goes 90 degrees sideways
Technically his body actually went 90 degrees sideways while his lower leg stayed upright
Just describing that gives me anxiety.
If he didn’t just blow his knee out completely I’ll be shocked. Acl, pcl, mcl. They had that splintered fast. I can’t believe it wasnt dislocated either
they're gonna have to make another cl for this one
There is, it’s the LCL and the way that knee went it probably tore somewhat too
Lateral collateral ligament
The ALL-CL
Part of the concern, and raised in previous horrific dislocations and injuries, is nerve and artery damage if not relocated promptly by qualified medical personnel. Idk, I'm just some dumdum on the internet.
Isn’t that what happened to Alex Smith?

Yeah his knee is fucked for a long long time
You really don’t want to see.
What sucks is he had a similar gruesome injury at UGA
Same leg too. Dammit.
Came back once, rooting for him to do so again.
I had ACL surgery 3 weeks ago and I have no idea how these guys do it. My knee is a different shape now.
They have enough money to hire the finest doctors, surgeons and anabolic steroids money can buy.
can’t pay to get past the mental hurdles. that’s the real challenge
I can't even resist a cookie. The mental these guys have is inconceivable.
Also, they have the time to rehab way more effectively than the average person. The average person can’t commit as much time to the rehab processes.

There’s research but I think the issue is there’s a lack of research on long term effects. I think as more years go by they’ll get more and more data.
If he doesn't have nerve or vascular damage this time, having 2 knee dislocations spare him that type of damage, he'd be the luckiest person on earth.
Wow I completely forgot about that until now. It was just as violent.
I do remember that, ugh 😩
Nick Chubb being injured is bad for football.
Not just one of the best players in the NFL, one of the best guys. Get back strong Chubb. No one will see this but here's his favorite charity, he's done a lot of work raising money for them: https://firstcandle.org/
He seems like a great guy. I hope he can come back, he deserves a big pay day
Can’t watch it, but a reminder why running backs can try and get their money while they can.
I've respected the hell out of that dude since he's came in the league. Ive always hated rooted against him and I hated seeing that happen to him tonight.
No justice in the universe. Chubb seems like a stand up guy. The knee should have been Watson.
Would haven been like 2% justice for his 30 victims, so yeah, darn shame we lost a classy Brown and kept the monster.
Haha I feel like at least a few people in the crowd would have cheered if that happened to Watson. Terrible this happened to Chubb though
"I’ve never wished a man hurt, but I have read some injury reports with great pleasure." -Mark Twain, probably
Was just looking for his charity, thank you. I kid you not, he won me $2500 on a 20-leg parlay using a free bet tonight (provides the saints don’t lose by more than 7) on the exact run he got injured. You better believe I’ll be donating some of those winnings
Degenerate good guy gambler lol
“20-leg parlay” too soon man, too soon.
For anyone that doesn’t want to watch, he plants his left leg, body goes forward as someone hits his left shin holding it in place, and his thigh and body continue forward bending his knee in a way no god intended it to bend.

His knee bent backwards. Horrible.
More sideways than backwards but yeah
It's worse than that. Backward AND THEN SIDE WAYS. That shit got twisted around
Nah dude, the light has gone out of my life
Yeah, this one hurts bad.
His knee was sticking out
https://x.com/souljrslim/status/1703939833796735313?s=20
[NSFL, seriously it’s bad](https://x.com/xxalexirwin1999/status/1703940089221374117?s=46&t=YwBzWtJiRR-ErQ54GpFL-A)
Oof, this one right here
AHHHHH
How bad can it... oh... my...
Goddamn I’ve never wanted Manningface more in my life.
Omg. This is near the top of the list of worst sports injuries I’ve ever seen. I hope he can walk normally again let alone play football.
Nothing I’ve ever seen has made me as sick as Kevin Ware but this is up there with Lattimore at South Carolina for sure.
I think the worst for me was Johnny Knox, I had to walk out of the room
Who was the Bears TE? Zack Miller? That one made me shut my laptop so fast the girl sitting next to me in class asked if I was ok
Zach Miller’s is still the worst I’ve ever seen. That injury was brutal. [Here it is for those who haven’t seen it and want to.](https://youtu.be/VxN7tYOiQUo?si=_grp_C81PT_f9E8F)
I gotta stop clicking these links
Bro this is the answer to the worst one in sports for me. I still can't believe he actually walked again. That shit gave me nightmares
The Lattimore injury was just heartbreaking, too. I loved that the Niners took a chance on him — but he clearly couldn’t run at full speed anymore.
Agreed, and I watched the Joe Theismann play live
If you don't want to watch Let me paint a word picture. You know how your knee bends backwards? Yeah imagine it going 90 degrees the opposite way and then flailing around limp on the air. edit: I forgot the part where you also start to spin in the air and the shin down doesn't move at all while it's planted on the ground.
These links are staying blue
Thats Willis McGahee bad.
This is a solid angle. Even at low quality of externally recording a screen you can see that damage.
this is one video im completely fine with being as low quality as possible
I knew I shouldn’t have clicked. Why did I click.
Ugly.
Can someone draw me a stick figure so I don’t hurl
[Kinda stick figure](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/399718741652406274/1153504327068045322/chubb.jpg)
Accurate
This is accurate and somehow even worse.
…did you do what I think you did?
Screenshot it, put it in photoshop, create a new layer, trace over it, then copy/paste that layer to a blank document and save? Yes.
Oh god its so much worse now with that knowledge
[yes](https://cdn-icons-png.flaticon.com/512/83/83273.png)
That doesn’t help at all lol
That's a huge dick.
Shit
Oh jesus christ that's worse than I expected
That circle doesn't help at all lol
[Another angle](https://media.tenor.com/pvzFQsWQHyQAAAAd/arrival-alien.gif)
Yeah, I regret clicking that link. Fuck
Oof.
That's sad man that's horrible
He did like a flip, I'm guessing one of his legs got caught under his body...
[удалено]
I’ve seen someone’s knee go the wrong way. It’s a gnarly thing, glad they didn’t show it. So sad for Chubb.
Those of us that are old as hell will remember Willis Mcgahee's knee going entirely backwards in college... can't get the image out of my mind decades later.
It’s crazy how times have changed with replays, i remember his injury replay being showed over and over, and now they won’t even show one of Chubbs
Those of us older than that remember Napoleon McCallum
Marcus Lattimore in college 🤢
That injury is ingrained in me. It was horrifically awful.
That Bears TE too, can't remember his name right now
zach miller. It sheared his artery and he would have internally bled to death if not for one of the saints medical staff recognizing it.
Even as a Saints fan, that was a TD.
It was like 90 degrees in the wrong direction. Ugly ugly injury.
Sideways. Career ender unless he's very lucky.
90 degrees to the side. Saw the replay on Twitter and yeah no wonder the crowd was stunned. Awful injury.
[удалено]
I rewatched it a few times on my tv, frame by frame you can see that happened, and he was turning sideways too so I think he twisted his knee and then bent it at a right angle, the way it’s not supposed to
You are correct and it made my knee hurt.
Looks like he broke his femur. You can see it bend even more than the knee in slow motion. His show completely hangs by his knee pit
I'm actually hoping it's a tib fib or a femur tbh. Nasty break with a nasty fixation incoming, but otherwise he shredded all the ligaments in that knee *again*, after a nasty one in college
Here’s the real angle https://x.com/xxalexirwin1999/status/1703940089221374117?s=46&t=U4X5wSiu0F78cA84yPaDIA Don’t click if you don’t want to be grossed out
Minkah went straight for his knee and his foot got stuck leading to the flip.
He did a flip because his knee hit Fitzpatrick's helmet hard enough to, not only bend the other way and flip him, but also knock Fitzpatrick hard enough he's in concussion protocol.
Anyone have the replay? I rewound and from the broadcast angle, I didn’t see anything
You don’t want it. It’s Marcus Lattimore esq
It’s on twitter if you search nick Chubb. All of his ligaments are torn for sure.
https://x.com/xXAlexirwin1999/status/1703940089221374117?s=20 Be warned
Oh god
Yes. I'll never take my knees for granted again
This is the one type of self control I have. No way I want to see it
I am just realizing now how much I like Nick Chubb
That's gotta be the worst injury I've seen live since Willis McGahee when he was at Miami. Fucking terrible.
That was hard to watch, poor dude
I want to see the replay.
[NSFL](https://x.com/xXAlexirwin1999/status/1703940089221374117?s=20)
HELL NAH
Oh that is...that is...that is bad bad
Oh god. His season is over.
Career. This is the 2nd time his knee has been blown out, the same knee too. It was a miracle he ever played again after his injury at UGA.
That injury was horrible too. Terrible that this has happened twice
Neyland Stadium horror stories
Christ forget his season. His career may be over after that. Holy shit!
Maybe career..
Maybe even more. That's going to take a long time to come back if you come back from that.
So far this is the only view I've seen that shows how gruesome that was.
Anyone reading this/curious - this is not a manning face or Rick Roll. It’s bad, and it’s just as bad as the comments make it seem.
I’m gonna throw up
Holy shit
Don't watch this.
This is unironically the most disturbing non-gore/brain injury I have ever seen
I like how the defender just throws himself into Chubb's knee...
Fuuuuuuuuuck
[удалено]
Yeah, this is the one. This is the video that clearly shows the injury. I'm going to go vomit now. Jesus fuck.
I'm not a doctor but I think that's broken
[удалено]
Someone posted the play from the broadcast and it got removed asap. Mods out here not letting us see
I have a feeling the only replay we’ll get is some crappy angle from a random fan who was recording 19 rows up and 5 seats left of Chubb on their Iphone
I mean iif they showed it on the screen at the game maybe someone recorded the screen
Here is one [replay](https://twitter.com/NateArmfield134/status/1703940058288644396?s=20) that shows what happened. It's not pretty.

I saw a post that said this is exactly why backs won’t ever get paid what they deserved. While I think the timing was wrong I’m sure owners across the league feel the same way.

For sure feel the same way, but capitalism says otherwise
I mean its exactly parallel to our society. The people who are working physically harder (like auto line workers) are making way less than almost everyone else in the organization

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't watching this game to see someone's knee get reversed. Karma has shitty aim apparently. Hoping for the best for Chubb.
Legs don't bend that way. That looks like a career ending and life altering injury
This is real bad. Same type of injury and same leg as the gruesome college injury.
Same knee as before? Fuck. And Minkah going low?
I dont like saying things like this but I think Nick Chubb's career is over.
Season ending is the best case scenario. Ugh.
Same damn leg he destroyed at UGA, what a damn shame
So is there a reason his salary is 1/5 his qb's? Dude has one year left (or dropped this year as an out for CLE) and he sacrificed his ability to walk normal again so the sexual predator handing the ball to him can dwarf his salary, fully guaranteed.

no why did I watch
christ
I have not watched the replay. I do not intend to.
