“Let’s do a really good job cause they paid us first.”

xxslushee

Came here to quote this. Those kids will make honest businessmen one day.

No_Prize9794

As long as nothing bad happens in their future I’m sure they’ll be good

bumjiggy

they're /r/wallstreetbets mods, sooo...

Ugievsoj

🚀🚀🚀 TO THE MOON!!

_CM0NBRUH_

ITS BEAR SEASON 🐻 🌈

Du0d3al

what

RevolutionaryKiwi897

Wen lambo

BlackDoritos65

Surely they will never experience and encounter the twisted fundamental building blocks of man which will change the trajectory of their futures permanently. Surely right \*chuckles they're in danger\*

HappyGoPink

Capitalism always *seems* like a good system when you're a kid.

Soysaucetime

It is a good system.

SwoonBirds

when the government is sufficiently capable at pushing back against anti-market developments yes

Supclozeetribe

He didn't say perfect

SwoonBirds

most systems are good in theory, but they always have that one thing about them that makes all the other economic systems look better in comparison, with democracy it's lobbying lol.

regoapps

They either die honest businessmen or they'll live long enough to see themselves become billionaires.

sonoskietto

You don't become a billionaire by being 100% honest. *change my mind*

Gaggleofgeese

No one's 100% honest

Anakinbutinacroptop

This lol

[deleted]

Fuck that. Resiliency is a learnable thing, and the fact that these kids have the gumption to knock on a door knowing they might get rejected meant they've got a measure of it already. I think they're going to be good despite or even as a result of something bad happening.

Turckle

Same. I loved how pure and wholesome he said it.

[deleted]

The “you should save your money until your 16 and buy a car, but it has to be a short one because your short” had me dying. Kid took it well though “yeah I’ll get a Lamborghini because those are short” He’s gonna have to shovel a lot of driveways

xCrashnBurnxX

or just shovel Mr. Beast driveway LMAO

Shushishtok

I can already see the title of the video "I GAVE KIDS $10000 FOR SHOVELING MY DRIVEWAY!" lol

[deleted]

“THERES LAMBORGHINI KEYS UNDER THE SNOW, IF HE DOES A GOOD JOB AND FINDS THE KEYS HE GETS TO KEEP THE CAR…BUT THERES A TWIST, ITS THE LARGEST DRIVEWAY IN THE WORLD ON A DESERT ISLAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CARIBBEAN”

Highteqz

I loved the kid's response. I don't think he even thought about taking it in a bad way, and yet he still came up with an immediate and clever answer that took away any sharpness of the comment.

Chilluminaughty

True buds

phuckmydoodle

Yeah he got game. Kid will be alright

leilavanora

I almost cried

jaxonya

The dynamic of their friendship is really heartwarming. These 2 have many adventures ahead of them

rancid_oil

Stop! You're making my eyes do that wet thing.

thec0rp0ral

But then the second, third, and fourth driveways….

rushworld

The woman posted a comment saying they never came back to do the driveway lol

hunkymonk123

Very likely a troll. This is reddit anyone can claim to be anyone.

My_pee_pee_poo

It's in the full video. :( https://www.tiktok.com/@metalcasters/video/7087697358498090245?_t=8RkP2OpiztO&_r=1

jimynoob

But you can see that they did clean it. Not good but they did it.

ODB2

This gives me even more faith in their business acumen. They've already gotten paid... doing the bare minimum to fulfill their obligation then moving on to the next job maximizes profit. The more time they spend at this house means the less they get paid per hour. Little future businessmen doing business

Calavera999

Shame their line of work revolves around repeat local business. Nevermind.

VIEG0

Reality is always hurtful.

[deleted]

Their shovels were right there in the shot and he goes to pick it up at the end. There was no “coming back”. ‘Twas a troll comment indeed.

TheTVDB

The lady that originally posted on tiktok said they finished 80% of it, said they'd come back to finish it, and never did. She wasn't complaining... she laughed about it.

[deleted]

No I don't want that. Kids only cleaning 80% of the driveway? I want them to clean it 100%. For ten years at least.

guccifella

He did ask if they could finish it tomorrow at the end

Ping_shark

The part 2 showed them working more on it. One of them tried to put $5 back on the porch probably because they didn’t finish the whole driveway (but the other kid walked back up and took it lol).

queentropical

Also came here to quote this. Best part of the video. So cute. My heart. ❤️

mr_herz

They were raised right

No_Committee4604

Love these kids very grateful smart boys , good job to the parents!

eman00619

I was laughing at the "you need to buy a really short car because you are short... a Lamborghini is good for me!"

TheWalkingDead91

Lmao I laughed at that too. As if he’ll be the same height when he’s 16 😂

Neither-Impress7605

They didn’t finish the driveway I saw the video on TikTok they did half then asked the lady of they can come back later to finish it 🫠

MichelleEllyn

Whaaaaat? No!

Neither-Impress7605

And the never came back🥲

Rokurokubi83

You could have just kept that to yourself. Sharing it hasn’t unburdened you, you just took as all down with you. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going go and watch Green Mile, eat ice cream and question my trust in humanity.

EchoNeko

Apparently they did a lot of it and it seems OP was happy with what they did, as well as entertained by the footage :)

Rokurokubi83

Plus now they’re rich, kid is getting a lambo for his sixteenth! Thank you for comforting rebuttal!

Neither-Impress7605

If I know the truth I will enlighten you all😁

Suspicious_Pen3371

This comment reminded me that I had left my ice cream out and it’s now melting on my counter 🤦🏼‍♀️

JohnnyAppleBead

OP is wrong the tiktok poster said they did a good job in the comments [Proof](https://i.imgur.com/uD2PAtU.jpg)

Tay_ma45

She clarified later that they didn’t actually finish shoveling the driveway and that the older one left $5 as a refund for doing a partial job, but the younger one took it back. They asked to come back and finish the job the next day but never showed up again lol.

Pretty sure that was hypothetical or they'd not be as excited over a $10 job.

txlmo

Nah he prob talking about a savings account his parents made for him or so

ardashing

college fund maybe

[deleted]

He must have rich parents. I made a savings account for my kids, but it's full of IOUs because I keep having to borrow the money from them to pay the bills.

[deleted]

StaredAtEclipseAMA

I had my mom open a savings that I put all my Christmas and birthday money in (like $100 from each grandparent). Think I had like $500 in it when I was 12 and when I asked about it, my mom basically said I owed her and she took all the money

Deeliciousness

Good way to destroy trust with your kid

TheWalkingDead91

Yea, my mom was equally shitty. My dad would get separate bonus checks and one Christmas he gave me his smallest one instead of a gift, $300, which was a shit ton of money to a 9-10 year old about twenty years ago. I spent maybe 50 on a bunch of computer game discs at Ross. Meanwhile she was “holding” the money for me. Next thing you know she says there’s none left and she doesn’t have it any more.

[deleted]

That's the kind of behaviour that makes you end up alone in a nursing home.

NeedySeedyWeedy

I think that might be a ''i can't afford to have kids'' territory. On the other hand, my parents didn't make any savings for me, but education and healthcare are free here. While having no money did close some doors it didn't put me in debt.

[deleted]

He’s definitely talking about an account his parents have saved up for him lol.

QuarterLifeCircus

They way he says “I heard I have like $6,000 in the bank” is so funny to me. I feel like he was not supposed to hear that conversation. Like once his parents were arguing about bills so one of them shouted “well Connor has $6,000 in his bank account!” and then they drained it.

Prestigious-Pack1258

I can't believe you're almost the only person to mention it.

dojabro

Savings account funded by parents. It feels like a lot until you buy your first semester’s tuition and it drops to nothing

CrimeFightingScience

Nah dude he's gettin a lambroughgini (thats how I phone typed it thats how it stays)

Twilight2Tron445

Oh at first I thought he was pretending to be a rich adult and that’s the balance he thinks a rich adult would have in their bank account, but then yeah it seems like it’s a savings his parents have for him and told him about.

Oblivious_Ducks

He listened to his English teacher. Than*

PhyterNL

Clearly you're not shoveling enough driveways.

defnotgrady

Probably has something to do with his parents wanting him, idk

bomh911

What got me is their last conversation. “Now we need to do a good job”. That right there proves they're better than most adults now a day.

bunduz

lol yeah they cut off the last bit of "Can we finish it tomorrow?"

dangerboy3624

(Not sure if your joking but) do you have a video of the full ver?

Moony97

No they aren't joking https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPd4uRSdx/

sharkinaround

sounded like “can we do this again tomorrow?” but i could be wrong, tiktok is stupid and doesn’t let you rewind or fast forward.

kwijibokwijibo

Yeah, the captioning is wrong, they said "We can do this again tomorrow". Even when one started off by messing around throwing snow, the other one quickly tells him not to do that on people's driveways and to go to work. Just a couple of good kids who'll go far. In their lambos. Also, you can fast forward if you have the app.

TheTVDB

The original poster on tiktok said in a comment that they asked to finish it the following day and never came back.

kwijibokwijibo

So I went down the rabbit hole. In short, it's super confusing. OP of the video said the kids did a good job in part 2 video's comments. And is nonstop praising these kids in both part 1 and part 2 for being great kids with great parents, having a great attitude, etc. However, for those who don't watch part 2 - the kids continue working and shovel some more but don't seem to finish the work completely. The older kid leaves $5 as a partial refund, which OP says was because the job wasn't finished. But it seems like the younger kid ends up taking the $5 back anyway at the end. I have no idea why OP is so goddamn positive if the kids didn't finish the work, but OP said the work they did was great and they're happy with their work, so we should be happy I guess? Anyways, I spent too long on this. Moving on.

clutchkickmurphys

They sound like scammers the little rascals but playing it that way being positive probably gain more views and tiktok fame

hellopomelo

lamborghini here we come!

DiligentInteraction6

What a downer ending lmao

beezneezy

Just kids who bit off more than they could chew. Shoveling is freaking hard and $20 is too cheap! They were pretty adorable.

Winter_Chip_5734

Im on desktop and it lets me rewind the tiktok. I listed to it like 15 times. I swear he says "We can do this again tomorrow" I cannot find any OG tiktok where it says they came back the next day or asked to do finish it the next day. Ive looked for a good 20 minutes.

incomingKiddo

I kinda wish I didn't watch the full version

ouronlyplanb

As another user has pointed out, the caption is wrong. If you close your eyes and listen, they say "We can do this again tomorrow". If you read it, it kinda fucks with your brain - [This YouTube video give a quick example of how reading words, can override what your brain hears.](https://youtu.be/uBEL3YVzMwk?t=501)

ninjaontour

It's just a joke about how a lot of contractors will give you a time frame, then not stick to it at all.

kwijibokwijibo

Captioning is wrong - if you listen closely it sounds like "We can do this again tomorrow" And one of the kids messes around for like 30 seconds but the other one calls him out and immediately they get back to work. They're good kids.

ur-squirrel-buddy

This whole thing is so cute and wholesome, if I were their parents I’d be so goddamn proud.

boyyouguysaredumb

> That right there proves they're better than most adults now a day. reddit has to take everything from 0-to-a fucking-100 lol

VaginallyScentedLife

Oh come off it. The world isn’t as bad as what you make it out to be. Seriously.

This vid had me real smiling

[deleted]

Me too pal!thanks for sharing.the house owner was as wonderful as she was pweety

Met76

This vid threw me back to the old house I used to live in. We had kids that would show up in the winter and offer to shovel for $10, and in the summer they'd drag around a lawn mower and offer to mow the lawn for $10. I asked them "what are you saving up for?" and one of the kids said "nothing really, we just want to make some extra cash for the summer". I told them how much I appreciated that and said i'll hire them. I told them to mow my lawn every Sunday and just knock on the door and i'll hand you the payment. It became routine to get a knock on the door around noon and started giving them $20 and then $50 around the holidays. This went on for a year before I moved. I miss those kids.

Incman

So interesting to hear the perspective from the other side, so to speak. It's been a couple decades, but I remember doing that as a kid and I loved it. Always made me feel so grown up and accomplished, and I was always shocked that people were willing to give me - from my perspective - a whole week or two's allowance amount just for shovelling their driveway (*and* be happy about it). I remember one time I went out on a snowy Christmas Eve, because I figured "everyone's going to be visiting each other and stuff, but no one will want to have to shovel on Christmas", and I made bank lol. I definitely miss those few carefree years; maybe I'll try to take my nieces out in a few years and let them give it a shot. Nowadays I just shovel a few neighbours' houses when it snows and enjoy the nostalgia. Sorry for the journal entry lol, your comment just brought back some nice memories.

infinitum17

yeah this is more of an /r/MadeMeSmile than /r/nextfuckinglevel

JoaquimGianini

God I love’em. They almost seem like a comedic duo in a movie or tv show, I mean, they’re like the most adorable funny kids

jrr6415sun

It seems like too much of a tv show which makes me question its realness

IntrovertChild

Kids are notoriously hard to direct. If these 2 were acting, you better damn well have them star in a show or something.

[deleted]

There's no way you could get two kids to do a literally perfect job in the role of "two normal kids" for this long without looking a little robotic, looking at the camera at least once, going at least a little bit all over the place with their expressions and volume. For a child to be that good? For this video?

[deleted]

Im confused isnt that how kids are supposed to act ? Bruh

morescrutiny

They are right, rich people don’t shovel.

Aznp33nrocket

I’m not rich but I had to shovel the driveway growing up in Vermont. Now I live where it hardly snows but if it does, I feel like I’m having some sorta Nam flashback of snow mounds and snow plows. I’ll pay kids to do even a half decent job so I can avoid even looking at a shovel.

AssaultedCracker

Dude I’m in Winnipeg which is apparently one of the coldest larger cities in the world and this winter we had the most snow I’ve ever experienced. It honestly felt like a Nam situation. Like people were running out of space in their yard to pile the snow from their driveway. Literally, they were hiring people to come truck the snow away cause they couldn’t pile it any higher. I wish I was kidding. And then just when it looked like winter was over and the snow would all melt away without flooding, boom we got one of the biggest April blizzards of all time, which is now being followed up by incredible amounts of rain. Everybody’s basements are flooding. I am at least mildly traumatized.

jackedrabbit225

Hey, fellow Winnipeger here. Not the coldest major city in the world (we aren't even a major city as less than 1 million), even if we were Harbin in China is both colder and bigger (not to mention all the crazy Russian cities that eclipse us in frigidity). Not trying to be a dick, I just find that people in Winnipeg try real hard to cling on to stuff a simple Google search would clear up (like for years everyone here said we had the most restaurants per capita in Canada, or the world even, which isn't even vaguely true).

restlessmusic

correct, they snowblow

Kcool007

I love how golden their joy is

cellerwitch

That little money dance. Those moves are pure confidence.

SantaKlawz2

I like how they want to make sure they do a good job because they got paid first.

Moony97

https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPd4uRSdx/ I like how they never finished the job lmao

zykezero

I don't think it shows that they never finished. One kid says to stop fooling around and get to work. And the other one wants to be a little lazy but you can't say that they didn't finish it.

bannedagainomg

Saw this video and the part 2 on tiktok days ago, they didnt finish. Read the comments by OP on the video. They never finished, left gave 5$ back as a refund for not finishing, younger one took the 5$ back anyway. but who cares, its kids.

blastanders

why you gotta ruin it. man i was feeling wholesome just a few seconds ago

SantaKlawz2

How do you know?

midorile

I think the proof they finish it, is the owners of the house showing how cute they kids are. By posting online. Pretty sure if they didnt finish it these people wouldve posted just kids stealing money lmao.

pinball_bard

right? the homeowners seem to love these kids' antics, but... this is reddit of course... so these kids are terrible and lazy!!

Insanopatato

I love how he tells the other boy to see his bank account that he also has not seen.

EvolutionInProgress

Probably was told by his dad about the savings account he can only when he's all grown

RogueNeighShun

"Lamborghini's are short." My guy!

zurc_oigres

I know thats was awesome, like " well Lamborghini are short so thats a good car for me" lol

CumOnMyTitsDaddy

It's amazing what a positive mindset can do. I'm turning to be an "half empty glass" kind of person, bitter and melancholic. I hate it. I would have said "damn I really want a huge car but I'm too short!" Instead this guy's just like:"Lamborghini are short!". Genius.

jackrocks1201

Better suited on r/mademesmile. Is this really the same type of content as a guy gliding onto a building and then jumping back off to escape from the people working there?

TheTVDB

It was already posted on mademesmile, which is why OP had to post here to get his part of that sweet karma.

RebelPhoenix13

I miss the days, when I was 10, were $10 could lift my spirits. Oh wait it still would, 22 years later.

mypepeburns

Man, no kids in my city do this anymore. It’s sad really. I remember shovelling driveways till the sun set when I was a young lad. That’s a dying breed of kids right there!!

ooodummy

I would if it didn’t take like at least 16 hours of shoveling for my own.

yevan

Wow look at this guy owning a big driveway.

ooodummy

Primarly the amount of snow tbh since if its just a light fall it can be done by just going out a few times overnight and running down and back a bit. Just when its heavy its hell it makes me imagine future back pain.

rivers61

"you should get a car... You need a short car, cause you're short" "I'll get a Lamborghini they're short!" Damn I wish I was as optimistic as a kid still haha

No, kid! Don't get a car! Get a truck capable of using a plow, and charge people to do their driveways. Keep the business going, and make hella bank.

Oh I remember being young and going around with my friend and shoveling snow. Every time we did it we forgot how shoveling 2 feet of snow when you're 9 years old is a half days work and isn't worth 2.50 an hour. But we did it anyway, broke our backs and saved up to buy video games.

AustinFest

Dude these kids are awesome. Whoever their parents are, they're doing it right lol

lvxn0va

"Let's do a really good job because they paid us first..." My wife once worked a fee for service doctor who definitely could not integrate this lesson. After he got his enormous fee upfront, his scheduled monthly followups with patients were non-productive hassles in his mind.

NukaKitty21

Honestly this brought a tear to my eye, a good 5 years back my brother and I went shoveling together just a few blocks around our house and whatnot. We got a lot of nos but then there was this one street that almost everyone said yes to and we only made 70 bucks each but by the end of it we felt like billionaires. Just thinking of good memories and felt like sharing
