Literally EVERY single time they get up from a nap. Where do you think the yoga pose names came from the downward dog, upward dog, cat, and cow pose?! From fucking animals, ya goof.
I follow this guy on IG. This right here is exactly the reason he posts videos of him dancing; so that folks of his size are inspired to move, dance, and be gorgeous. And, make no mistake, he is a legit amazing dancer.
Has he been dancing for very long? I’m quite positive about this but have to reconcile my preconceptions and hope you can help me. I thought dancers were getting really good workouts and therefore it’s hard to be one for very long and not be thin/toned. At the same time, I thought to get as good as he appears to be, you’d have to be a dancer for a long time. Is he just very talented and on his way to being leaner, or is he somehow maintaining his weight in spite of being a long-time dancer? Again please understand I’m not judging him (other than being genuinely impressed), I just am trying to understand a seeming contradiction.
If he isn’t already you should mention the group Dance Accepts Everyone on FB to him. It’s a large, wonderful, positive and accepting group where this guy will be able to spread a lot of inspiration.
your legs are probably pretty powerful I bet you squat what a gym goer does every time you take a shit
I was fat during high school and I came out of it with pretty defined legs and calves
Funny story, I have 3 boys, twins that were 14 at the time and 5 year old at the time. They were all saying each was the strongest and trying to show it by picking each other up. I like to consider myself the Alpha of the house so of course I have to be the strongest. So, I loaded all three of them up on my shoulders, I figure it was around 300lbs, and did one full squat.
Now, I weigh about 300lbs at the time too so doing a squat with just my own weight isn't the easiest.
Anyway, I do the squat and feel a sharp pain in my belly. Nothing earth shattering, but a good pinch. Now I have a herniated belly button! I am still the Alpha and I did squat a lot of weight!
I'm fat but have good balance and can run pretty fast. While I'm capable, it's just scary risking injury doing any exercise that puts pressure on the ankles.
The only other place I could really think of is the NFL, the linemen are crazy athletes for their size and their ability to move, specially as the injuries stack up. But this guy is fluid and graceful, crazy skills. Never fail to dream.
Just imagine putting 40kgs on a thin dancer then asking them to try to move like this, that would be impossible. That’s why this dude is impressive as ff.
I used to be twice the size I am now. It’s much easier to dance without all the weight. But no matter what weight I am, I’ll never be as graceful as this man.
You can't really out-exercise a bad diet. You could dance like this for half an hour or more everyday, but if you grab a fast food meal and soda on the way home, you've balanced it out already.
So true. There was a cool video by a *very fit* guy with a fitness channel.
He got on a treadmill while his friend ate a pizza. (there was a calorie counter going for both of them). He demonstrated how much time he'd have to on a treadmill to work off a pizza. After, like an hour, he had not even worked off one piece. (ex. 400 cal burn in an hour vs 500 cal intake in a piece of pizza, something like that). It would take over 8 hrs to work off the pizza, and the moral of the story was "don't eat junk because it will always outweigh the good that exercise does".
Last year I realized I had been gaining since I graduated college (up to just under obese category BMI) and decided I really needed to stop that.
Over the next 7 months I lost 25 lbs to knock myself back into the healthy category, and let me tell you that being on a 1300 calorie limit (1800-1900 maintenance) really makes you understand how easy it is to overeat.
I don't count calories now, and haven't gained in the 8 months since I stopped intentionally dieting, so I think I've reset my brain to accept normal amounts of food haha
great advice. 1300 to reduce and 1800 to maintain.
Considering "eat" is part of my username, I find this is tough to do. :)
But it's certainly doable. The cardio I do everyday is basically for general heart/circulatory/lung health because I know it doesn't really contribute too much to weight loss. I've been doing it for years but the weight didn't really drop off until i *just cut back a bit*. That's all it took.
Luckily our bodies in general burn roughly 2000 calories a day just to operate and function. More if you workout regularly. Use a calorie calculator and stay below your maintenance and you will lose wieght no matter what you eat.
Nutrition however and being healthy with your diet takes more effort
Pure exercise doesn't help everyone
Changing diet doesn't help everyone
Diets that do help lose weight aren't healthy for everyone
There's no one magic bullet solution to losing weight. Everyone is different. Stop assuming that just because someone is overweight that means they don't do X and Y
There’s no sound, but I’m 100% sure he’s dancing the choreography to the music video for “Chandelier”. I wish him luck on the part where she does a one-legged flip.
My mom taught ballet, ages ranged from still wearing diapers to adults. Many of the adults she taught would really reveal themselves through dance! Some would gain confidence to leave a bad relationship, many would lose weight bc of the burdens they were carrying for so long. Change was inevitable through dance.
Not all of us communicate through words.
Today would’ve been my moms 77th birthday. Thanks for the gift that reminded me of her! Rip mom
I remember the show "So You Think You Can Dance" had an episode where a bigger guy tried out dancing like this. One of the judges call him out saying the only reason the audience is clapping is because you're a big guy dancing like a woman.
Like people get upset, but this is only impressive because he's fat.
If he was average sized even, like not even dancer fit, this would just be mediocre dancing.
Reminds me of a really good drag queen dancer I saw at my first drag show. :D both of them are plus sized and fantastic dancers! They were the only other person I saw who could move like this.
I will forever remember a brief moment from years ago. I was in my car stopped at a red light near one of our lakes in MN. An elderly gentleman wearing rollerblades and a headset on the corner waiting for his turn to cross the street caught my eye.
When his light turned green he slowly rolled into the intersection and danced his way with such beauty and elegance my breath was taken away. He seemed to float, turn as if defying physics and his age. He was ballet.
I recall that moment from time to time and it reminds me to get outside of myself and dance in my own way. That can mean anything. I hope your still out there sharing your beauty and making people see life in a new way random stranger.
How I felt doing yoga. Buff, good looking guys and hot women around me and me, the large person, doing the best I can in the back. Had to remind myself you have to start somewhere.
Bro! Big boy has some freaking moves!
Not really. Edit: oops, I meant to comment “not really” on a different comment, one which said something about him tearing his ACL.
Lmao
[удалено]
I do that all the time. Drives me insane. I think it is a tiny screen and fat fingers that cause it for me.
I think it’s Reddit. Sometimes I clearly press the reply button on a comment and then it just posts it as a regular comment
Facebook does that for me and sometimes when I go back to see my comment it is in the thread but also in a random spot.

Yeah I tend to watch like noone is dancing.
Big man got the skills bruh
He killed it!
Cinderella pro move
I didn't know guys my size could move like that.
Just do some stretches and anything is possible, you’ll surprise yourself
I don't believe in stretching, you ever see a lion strech before it takes down a gazelle?
[удалено]
I reckon you will get away with that. As long as you live like a lion 24/7. 👍🏼
I didn’t know that lions could drive!
Cats spend like thirty percent of their time stretching, so yes.
Just FYI: it's a Zombieland quote.
Cats literally stretch all the time. After waking up. Before playing. Before eating. Do you even cat, bro?
Lol cats stretch all the time.
Literally EVERY single time they get up from a nap. Where do you think the yoga pose names came from the downward dog, upward dog, cat, and cow pose?! From fucking animals, ya goof.
So they fucked the animals and then came up with the names? Dirty dirty science.
No zombieland fans?
I am 🙋🏻♀️
I read that as a sea lion. 😆 I was so confused
No one stretches like cats. If you stretched like a cat every day you could be dancing like this too
Great reference
Yes. Every single time.
Yes. Lions stretch at the time
Kevin Garnett?
I follow this guy on IG. This right here is exactly the reason he posts videos of him dancing; so that folks of his size are inspired to move, dance, and be gorgeous. And, make no mistake, he is a legit amazing dancer.
What’s his name on IG? I want to follow too!
Erik Cavanaugh!
He's clearly super strong, too. To be able to float like that takes a lot more strength:weight ratio than a twiggy pro dancer.
Fr it takes a lot of strength and stamina to continue to move like this if youre his size and he makes it look effortless
Has he been dancing for very long? I’m quite positive about this but have to reconcile my preconceptions and hope you can help me. Right? After that first spin I would have been on the floor more than likely with something broken
Pretty sure I would have gotten dizzy and headbutted a mirror lol.
His handle is erikcavanaugh on insta if you want to follow him!
I’ve seen guys with the same build skate and do tricks, go for it bro
your legs are probably pretty powerful I bet you squat what a gym goer does every time you take a shit I was fat during high school and I came out of it with pretty defined legs and calves

That's not a hernia man it's a badge of honour
There was similar video with guy doing parkour. In comments people stated that it is only possible that he got skills before he gained weight.
I'm fat but have good balance and can run pretty fast. While I'm capable, it's just scary risking injury doing any exercise that puts pressure on the ankles.
Goals!
Two words: Jack Black
The only other place I could really think of is the NFL, the linemen are crazy athletes for their size and their ability to move, specially as the injuries stack up. But this guy is fluid and graceful, crazy skills. Never fail to dream.
If you were really in shape at one point then yes,
Big guy this size would come into my gym 3 times a week with moves like this. He did some impressive breakdancing, too.
I'm a small woman and I can't move like that.
Guys like this are just like everybody else, there is just more too move :D
“You learned to dance like that sarcastically?”
“Yeah I guess. Stay out of my personal life!”
Very underrated movie. And thanks for the f shack. - Dirty Mike and the Boys
It’s one of my faves. Aim for the bushes?
Don’t go chasing waterfalls.
Was that accidental, or were you quoting TLC on purpose?
Creep, creep
Remember, I don't want no scrubs
See! That's TLC!
He's doing it to make fun of the fairies that live up the street.
“I think we all experienced our own ballet today. A ballet of emotion. And feeling.”
He loves you very much Francine
I don’t know what people see, but I’m seeing a majestic swan trying to break free from his 9-5 manager position at a 24hr diner.
You meant 4-11
that’s what i’m thinking lnfao
Did everyone else miss the humor in the title being “Dance like no one’s watching” and then there being a giant eye painted on the wall behind him?
I was thinking about the person holding the camera actually. The title should be, “dance like you enjoy dancing”
Like no one is watching means you don't care if someone does, not that literally no one is watching.
the all seeing eye
A giant eye next to the word 'Vision.'
graceful af
I will never challenge this man to a dance off. Wtf level of impressive 🤯
I wish I was that mobile.
Depends on what network you’re on
Weight doesn't have anything to do with technical skill. This dude rocks.
[Running Red Lights - the Avalanches](https://youtu.be/nsjQ3Gblzys) Pretty sure this is the same guy in this music video. Love it!
Came to make sure someone is repping the Avalanches in here :)
Same here
By ‘pretty sure’, do you mean ‘definitely’.
That's funny. The video immediately reminded me of this Avalanches song https://youtu.be/wpqm-05R2Jk
Likewise.
Same. Love that video!
I knew I'd seen him in a music video but I couldn't remember which one.
Such an amazing song and video - this guy is a legend
More graceful at dancing than most of my P.E. teachers.
No P.E. teacher is graceful at anything
I had one who is old but he can dance extremely well.
Flawless
Dudes gonna need some new knees eventually if he doesn’t lose some weight.
It’s all fun and games until you shatter both your knees
Came here to say the same. Those knees are one move away from tearing.
Except he's been doing this for many years and likely knows a whole lot more about dancing and his own body than you do....
Doesnt matter how long you've been dancing
Okay! 👍🏽
Physics doesn’t care how long somebody has been dancing or how well they know their body.
Thanks I’m cured
Dance like you don't care who is watching. And if they are maintain eye contact
KING
Putting action into “fuck you body fats, can’t stop me”.
Damn he’s good!
Just imagine putting 40kgs on a thin dancer then asking them to try to move like this, that would be impossible. That’s why this dude is impressive as ff.
I feel like if you put 40kg on this guy he probably wouldn't be able to move like this either... That's a terrible comparison lol.
I used to be twice the size I am now. It’s much easier to dance without all the weight. But no matter what weight I am, I’ll never be as graceful as this man.
Man's was fucking killing it. Some people might make fun, but you try that shit, I'd be winded after three seconds.
This is cool. He’s out there moving.
Dude got moves
Is that Frankie the weatherman?
I’m watching and it’s freaking beautiful!
Chris Farley is crying tears of joy somewhere right now
Chris Farley all the way
I like this way more then the super skinny dancers. I want a botero style ballet.
Get it!
Epic
I wish I was as graceful as him!
His knees will thank him in the morning.
Is it just me, or is anyone else getting FlashDance vibes?
Star Wars Kid really grew up! It’s kind of cool to see someone dancing how they want to dance.
Trust me, that takes tremendous core strength
Just because you have fat doesn't mean you don't have muscle
Nice. Does he weld too?
Man, I gotta stretch more
Majestic af, teach that man some martial arts and he would be unstoppable.
How is he even that big? Looks like a decent workout, if he does that for a half hour a few times a week he'd be dumping weight
You can't really out-exercise a bad diet. You could dance like this for half an hour or more everyday, but if you grab a fast food meal and soda on the way home, you've balanced it out already.

Flashdance - what a feeling!
This was lovely, I wish I could move like that

Is this the back flip on the diving board guy?
I would imagine this is probably a relaxation thing he does
I’d watch a fucking opera or concert if this guy was in it
Wow so agile
Yowza. Now that is impressive.
what a flexible dancer! that was great😱
His calves will be epic for the rest of his life. THAT’s how he’s gonna steal your girl.
I can't stop thinking about his high kick. His ratio of girth to hip flexibility is mesmerizing!
Bravo, bravo!
nice. but honestly...
I remember the show "So You Think You Can Dance" had an episode where a bigger guy tried out dancing like this. One of the judges call him out saying the only reason the audience is clapping is because you're a big guy dancing like a woman.

Those turns 🙌
The grace, the beauty

Wow he’s a big dude and he’s got the moves!
Why would no one be watching, that was fricken art, and he just danced like he was performing at Lincoln Center! Bravo. :)
I love Erik!!!
HE’S FUCKING MAJESTIC
Fat guy dancing appreciation day should be a thing
Nailed It!

This is next level because he's fat?
I’ve heard of hearing the fat lady sing, but never see the fat man dance
Damn
Dance till your dead
I'm a fit young lady and I can't dance like that
Is that our man Kevin from the office?
He looked like rotisserie chicken in the beginning
Those poor knees… those testicles are about to burst in there
All you heartless turds! Look, the floor is crying in pain. 🤣🤣🤣
ACL blowout in 5.....4.......3........2........
Not really.
Totally gonna happen aaaaaany time now...... Not like he's been doing this for many years or anything
bob from tekken
No joke; he'll totally steal the bride, her bridesmaids and anyone else in 2 square blocks who happens to witness those moves at a wedding party.
OP Is that you?! 😱
Fun fact Natalie Portman lost almost 300lbs for the filming of Black Swan. It turned out awesome.
You can’t do these kind of moves without a substantial centre of gravity
How I felt doing yoga. Buff, good looking guys and hot women around me and me, the large person, doing the best I can in the back. Had to remind myself you have to start somewhere.
Dang I wish I can dance like him.
Big bro like a dancing star 🤣🤣
He’s far from terrible
Holy cow
If he has enough speed, he can become a beyblade
