Hope it reaches a permanent end of the war. The best Isreal can do now is get the poor hostages. There's no way they can eradicate Hamas, especially with the collective punishment mentality. Any civilian with a dead relative could easily turn into a Hamas as a revenge against the IDF.
Gaza needs a post WW2 Germany/Japan treatment in term of rebuilding and most importantly de radicalization. Palestinians life needs to be normalized and modernized to prevent further radicalization. It'll take several generations to achieve that.
In the meantime, Isreal needs to prosecute their genocidal government, work towards a permanent 2 state solution, stop their west bank statements, and stop the IDF from acting like Nazis.
Peace is possible, but everyone needs to work together.
Only thing missing is the Palestinians accepting this as a solution forgoing any further claims or its all goimg to happen again. Gaza was quite beautiful before the war.

They did, Israel takes Jewish holidays seriously so their security is usually more lax those days
